  • I love my Vita. I hope to see some AAA software announcements at E3 this year. Maybe an Infamous title, Heavenly Sword prequel or side story, TLOU spinoff, etc. Great update! Maybe next add some more PS4 integration/functions. For instance while the Vita doesn’t have a share button, it would be nice to share screen shots with ease like on ps4.

  • Great update! Will we (ever) be able to manage our saved data? I’d like to be able to delete or make backups of the saved data from my digital games, without having to delete or backup all of the game data.

  • I never understood wanting to fill up one’s Vita with all of their games, especially PS+ content. I have 159 games on Steam, but only have 16 installed. I have a good number of games on Vita as well, but only have the ones I actually play installed, too.

  • I want a 128/256GB card :3

  • Thanks to everyone who worked hard making these firmwares. Always a good thing to see such dedication!

I’m not sure if this is possible, which is why I am asking this but… can we use cross-game voice chat during Remote Play? If not, will it be included in the next update? Thank you for reading this. :)

  • Well this is Awesome! I just ordered my 64GB Memory Card for my Vita! So let’s start downloading the titles in my PS3, & backup the ones I have on my Vita :)

Seriously, this month has been a blast, we even got Crunchyroll for PS Vita now :D

    Can’t wait to see what’s next! :)

  • PS2 games on Vita. PS2 games on Vita. PS2 games on Vita. PS2 games on Vita. PS2 games on Vita. PS2 games on Vita. PS2 games on Vita. PS2 games on Vita. PS2 games on Vita. PS2 games on Vita.

  • The ability to display more than 100 applications on the home screen – Thank god!
    What is the limit now?

  • oh 500, sry

  • Awesome Google calendar… thx… But what’s about a txt reader?

  • CHEAPER VITA MEMORY CARDS!!!!

Ok so PLEASE allow me to delete apps/games without deleting game save. PS Plus upload just isnt what Im looking for.

  • Super happy to see that limit increased. Now I don’t have to worry about my retail games eating up valuable icon slots.

  • Thanks for the Vita love :)

  • Thank you for getting rid of the 100 app limit on the Vita, that was pretty much my only major complaint about the system. Now I don’t have to worry about juggling games between my computer and Vita. Hopefully we’ll also see the 64 GB card come out soon as well since that will be a great addition to this firmware update.

  • That would be pretty neat to get a Calendar app on PS4. Well, let’s keep our priorities straight – organization of the Home menu needs to be improved, among other needs for improvement!

  • Please allow multiple accounts on one Vita

  • Yeah please focus on multiple accounts on one Vita next!

  • 1. When is the Vita TV coming? When will it be updated to remote play PS4? When will it support DS4 controller?

    2. The Vita is a single account device, this is terribly inconvenient. I know we can swap memory card and re-initialize/re-format the Vita to switch account, but this is a tedious process. Please give us a firmware update that let us SWITCH ACCOUNT BY SIMPLY SWAPPING MEMORY CARD.

    3. PS4 remote play is a great feature, however the PS4 is a multiple account console whereas Vita is single account. You can only remote play with the same account. This means a family will have to buy multiple sets of Vita. Again, as above, please make switching accounts easy and with no side effects (of messed up home page bubbles to be reorganized etc).

    4. We can now create folder (bubble that contains other bubbles) but a folder cannot have 0 item. Please remove this restriction.

  • +1 on WPA Enterprise.

Ability to change track of background music while Vita is in stanby mode from the lock screen or through the triggers
More video codec support aside from MP4. MKV would be killer if possible.
I think the unification of the feed on PSVita and PS4 should happen.
Would also be great to able to download HD content from PS Store’s video section or is that a limit?

  • I hope this means Sony lifts its ban on me being able to transfer my legitimately PSN-purchased copy of Persona 2 Innocent Sin from my PS3 to my Vita.

In other words I hope you patched that vulnerability in the Vita kernel that got Innocent Sin and other games banned from the PSN store.

  • My psvita is saying theres no new updat so wen tonight do we get it cause im not seeing great update yay -_-

  • Please add better support for multiple psn accounts. I haven’t bought any digital games for my vita yet because it’s so inconvenient to have to format every time I want to play something on one of my other accounts.

I really want to buy digital games but it’s simply too annoying at the moment.

  • Also would like a PDF reader. And bring back the comics service!

  • what time will the up date be ready??

  • Thanks for the update. Like #1 said now I just need the 64 gb card. I don’t think I’ll ever pay more than $50 for that though.

  • Perfect timing for the App Limit increase, since I’m currently sitting at 98 apps.

Does the “Manage My Memory Card” feature allow us to delete add-on’s and not the game. One thing that sucked was with like Zen Pinball, download the demo tables and the only way to remove them after that was to delete the whole Zen Pinball and then redownload it again without redownloading the demo tables.

Now just need an update to allow multiple user log-in’s on a single vita (like PS3/PS4 are set up).

  • when is the ps4 update coming

  • What about a pdf reader and flash??!!

  • Well the update is awesome but 3 months for this was too long :P. Also the callender should have been there from the beginning. And please hurry and unlock the vita cores! We have locked power in our hands!

  • Glad to hear that the team is implementing new features for the ps vita.

    1. Game saves being made accessible so that i can delete games and reinstall later without losing my progress. I have a 32 gb card and sometimes it makes me have a difficult decision with all the ps+ content.

    2. why can’t i opent the vita without being forced to make a vertical smudge on my screen. You need to have an option to push start or x or something on the wake up / power up screen. It is not useful, fun or cool in the current state.

    3. this is a hardware complaint, while i have for the most part gotten used to the analog sticks and their feel, i have not gotten used to the aweful shoulder buttons, which are basically slabs of lucite with a unreliable spring mechanism, some games i have to overpress to use them, or i pop out of cover or gun view etc, because they are not up to par with the rest of the excellent face buttons.

  • there is no excuse on the shoulder buttons, the psp go had excellent shoulder buttons, apart from being crammed together, that device had some of the best controls i have ever used, up there with gameboy advance sp.

oddly enough the shoulder buttons appear to not be addressed in the new lcd version of the vita and ironically make me feel better about owning the oled.

i also really hate how i have to always copy paste my blog posts, because your wordpress blanks what i write and it stops me from posting quickly. if your going to have this setup have the decency to have a character counter and the limit posted. it’s very obnoxious. Remember we pay your salaries and help to keep Sony from filing chapter 11.

  • What do some of you mean when you say if you delete a digital game from the vita the save game is also deleted???

I have been thinking to pick up the new LCD vita in the spring but just don’t like paying 80 bucks for a 32 gb memory card it seems way overpriced. Also I feel worried that I might pick one up and not like having a handheld gaming device. Never had one in the past so I an not sure if it would be worth the purchase. For the most part I would get the vita for some of the free plus games, I will only end up buying a couple of hard copy games.

  • I am glad I imported my memory stick las month that extra space is just incredible. I am going to start the update on my PS Vita right now!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is a great update. Thanks Sony, now please clean up the download list so that it is more organized!

  • Great. Now just make it easy to change accounts using the Vita, the way it is now is very inconvenient. We also need a way to output Vita games for PS3 and PS4, like remote play but in the other direction, there is no technological limitation to that. After that all that is left is for you to make the memory-cards more affordable, I’m rolling with a 4GB memory-card because I refuse to pay the prices you are asking, digital purchases are probability more profitable to Sony, so they should not be pushing people away from it, specially since Vita gets very little shelf space.

The Vita is a great machine with great games, but those little things certainly get in the way.

  • Wow, I didn’t see any of this coming. Thank you for continuing to make the Vita even better than it already is, and it’s already great.

  • Love to see Party Chat have video support someday or skype on PS4; not sure if PS4 has skype app sense i don’t have PS4 just yet.

  • Nice update. I’m a big Vita supporter and am waiting on a firm release date on the new Vita slim. Also anticipating news on a possible PS Vita TV release.

  • So no “Cartridge” app, instead of putting every physical game you get on the menu? That’s seriously the single dumbest thing on the Vita.

  • Some good stuff here. No improvements to PS Store though? I’d at the very least like to have wish list functionality

  • Wow!Thanks guys!Just a thought of mine, I and many others enjoy listening to music while playing games.Just one thing is that sometimes it turns down the game volume or just overpowers it.Is there any chance of a way to change the music and game volumes separately so they can be used in unison better?

  • Can you guys please fix Strict NAT!!! this is a problem many people are having with the PS4 which leads to you not being able to play (or at least few) online matches, this is not a problem on the user end but the Hardware/Software end which can only be bypassed by accessing the Router settings and is something that is not supposed to be required to do normally.

  • Why do i get the feeling that after 3.11(if its named that) we’ll have memory cards with tera bytes on shelves……R&D has done some interesting stuff before, the majority of which the public has probably never seen.

  • When will I be able to use my PS4 in conjunction with my Vita in regards to content management. As it stands my ps3 is almost full, so i do not use it with my vita much in that manner. Meanwhile i have 100’s of gigs of free space on my PS4 and yet I cannot use it to move content back and forth from my Vita, when is this happening?

There are real useablity concerns with the Vita right now, and as nice as a calendar and voice messages, and more than a hundred apps on the main screen are, it seems like some very large oversights are being made here. Do your engineers use the device to play games?

there are folder options as of a previous update which i personally use, is this 100 apps including what is within folders?

Another obnoxious detail is when your downloading something, and the device goes into power save and pauses your download… you go and turn it on expecting your game to be finished and it’s at 15%, genius.

  • if only you guys would make it possible to use more than 1 account on the vita…

  • Finally! No more 100 apps limits, now its 500 apps limits. But, still nice update indeed, was hoping the limit would of been increased to 1000, since that is the absolute possible maximum using the current set up, the vita is capable of. Anyways 500 would do for now. Thanks for the update.

  • thank you sony finally a calendar

  • Awesome stuff!! Still waiting for Dead Nation on PSVita though. =(

  • Greatness awaits with this patch. Pushing up the 100+ limit allows me to desire the 64 gig card. I can’t wait to get it now :)

But this looks like an awesome update.

The only thing now I would love of the Vita (and PS3) is a library screen like the PS4. That is just awesome.

Again THANK YOU FOR PUSHING UP THE 100 bubble limit :)

  • I gotta say that calendar app sounds impressive and unlike anything I’ve heard of on a game console. Scheduling play times sounds like a great idea, might make it easier for me to do more online multiplayer
