Z-Run Coming to PS Vita This May

Hello there! This is Alexey Menshikov from Beatshapers, and we’re proudly announcing Z-Run for PS Vita, coming to PlayStation Store this May. We moved back the launch date since last summer’s announcement in order to make our game bigger and better. Our previous games on PS Vita include StarDrone Extreme, BreakQuest, Furmins, and dozens of PSP minis — along with the recently announced PS4 title, Ready to Run.

Today, we’re presenting a gameplay tutorial trailer with the awesome song “You Better Run,” made especially for the game by The Spin Wires band.

The world has been overrun by flesh-hungry zombies, and you’re stranded in the middle of a post-apocalyptic city with no way out. Are you going to just stand there and get eaten, and turn into a brainless creature, too? Not likely.

In Z-Run, you never stand still. Anyone who does winds up dead. Stay on your toes if you want to stay alive. The city is a mess after the zombie apocalypse struck, so you need to be agile as well as fast while you attempt to sprint through the crowds of undead assailants. Falling over an obstacle or running head-long into abandoned cars is a sure way to get caught by the legions of zombies.

But you’re not expected to go in empty handed. An arsenal of weapons is available for collecting, including guns, bats, planks, wrenches, and even an electric guitar that will help you fend off the flesh eaters and keep on running.

Be careful how much you exert yourself, though. This is a big city, and it’s packed with hungry zombies. Every move you make, punch you throw, or guitar you swing will cost you energy. Find yourself exhausted too quickly, and you’ll be an easy meal for an army of undead attackers.

There are multiple routes you can take as you sprint through the city, and exploration is an essential part of survival during the undead armageddon. Campaign mode tasks you with working your way through the debris-strewn streets in an effort to find your way out with at least a few limbs still intact. There’s also a survival mode included, which keeps on going until the living dead finally get to feast. The more you unlock in the story, the more you get to test your skills in survival mode.

As your character increases in level, you can begin to add to your stamina, allowing you to attack and dodge more, as well as recover more quickly. You can also begin to upgrade your weapons, ammunition, and inventory to help you keep on running for longer.

Z-Run is coming in early May of this year to PS Vita.

  • Prime should have just plead the fifth in his case. One should not attempt to troll while claiming others as trolls.

  • What a piece of t u r d looking game.

  • Assassin_-Altair

Sony is doing horrible with vita sells because they keep putting indie games that belong on phones:/ its a shame the vita could do so much more but Sony you don’t support it enough-_- “Console Quality Gaming” yeah right

  • I guess you guys are never going to get rid of PS Plus Vita games Uncharted, Wipeout, and Gravity Rush are you? I am so tired of seeing these games as free. Can’t you guys pick 3 more? Rotate them out? Something?
PLEASE GET THESE GAMES OFF PS PLUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I’m still staying patient on a good game ……

  • This game looks really fun also challenging ! Looking forward to getting all trophies for Z-Run.

There’s a difference between trolling and mocking.

Also, those being trolled usually don’t deserve it, while those who are mocked (at least in my case) always do deserve it.

And I was only mocking Rezolution77 (he has a long history of pointless, misinformed complaints). My post before that was only presenting the facts.

  • I don’t like to criticize games, but since there is a comment section here, I guess we can use it for our thoughts.
I see the Vita with WAY more potential than games like this Sony.
This is clearly the type of game I would find for 99 cent on a smart phone. There are tons of clones like this as well.
Sony please raise the standards of the Vita.
I am slowly feeling like you guys just gave up on it, and are letting it stay afloat from the Indie market. Not all Indie games are bad, but a lot of them are. As long as you guys allow the Vita to be flooded by this kind of mediocrity, your hand held will go no-where… unless that is what you are hoping for.

Please Sony, I beg you to check your quality control. Quality vs Quantity.

  • Yesh! No thanks

  • I hope we get a good horror FPS game for Vita eventually.

  • It’s ok to criticize and not being pro on every game it’s released.
And if the customers think Sony is selling crappy games, it’s their right to say so.

Customers should be able to draw the line, the parameter of standards they wish for their products, and not just sit there and wait for something that call their attention.
As a customer, if you think the company you choose for gaming is taking a bad road, you have the right to express it.

Now, for the bunch of conformist that applaud every single release just because they don’t differ between a Tetris and an Elder Scroll, I feel sorry about you… I thought this community had bigger standars

    “Bigger standards”

Are you expecting The Last Of Us from an indie studio? How about REALISTIC standards?

Also, no one has played this game yet. It’s too early to judge. You lose.

  • @+PrimeroIncognito

    Do you even game?
Let me give you a few titles of PSP Games:

    Crisis Core
    Kingdom Hearts
    GTA
Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of The Lions
God of War (2 games with this title)
    Dissidia

PSP pulled this amazing titles, Crisis Core was beyond the expectations of a portable console game, and many others I don’t recall right now.

PS VITA has a better potential, can handle better games, yet relies on PSP games to inflate its repertory, and doesn’t have more than 3 or 4 games of great franchise… You lose, since you are the one that wants the Vita to run Android games.

  • Got to agree with zirocrath.
As long as we keep getting old ports at premium prices, and Smart Phone type games, I don’t see the point in owning a Vita.
I am pretty sure that’s the mind set of a lot of potential gamers that want to get one also.

We were promised a “Console Experience on the go”.
I do not consider Smart Phone apps and games a “Console Experience”.

Please do not get me wrong though. I do love my Vita. I have a hand full of great games I love and enjoy playing.
Uncharted, Wipeout 2048, Soul Sacrifice, Stardust, Dragons Crown, and a few PSP/PSOne games I repurchased even though I was against re-buying a title I already owned.
I do expect Sony to keep a higher standard though when releasing games.
Not sure why Crisis Core is not released unless they are secretly planning a HD remake? (I hope that is the case)

The power of the Vita is just not being tapped, and I am not sure why Sony is not taking advantage of it.

  • @ RoyBM Smartphone-type games? If you mean ‘temple run’ than you should know that ‘temple run’ is actually a simplified ‘Pepsi Man’ (PS1, 1999). And you can’t play neither Pepsi Man nor ZRun on smartphone — you really need physical stick and buttons for that.
