Dragon Fin Soup on PS3, PS4, PS Vita: First Missions Detailed

Hello everyone! First of all, we want to thank you all for the warm welcome we received last time when we announced our game for PlayStation! You’re a great community and we’re happy to join it.

Dragon Fin Soup on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita

For those who have missed our last announcement, we are Grimm Bros, a small indie team of five developers working on Dragon Fin Soup, a classic RPG with Roguelike elements.

We’re back, all amped up, motivated, and eager to share our latest news with you. Right now we’re crazy busy getting ready for PAX East, where we’ll have a booth, cosplayers, and a playable demo for people to try out.

Today we’d like to share with you a longer gameplay video with commentary by Randis to talk about more of the details and nuances of the gameplay and world of Dragon Fin Soup. As we point out in the video, the footage is from an Alpha build and some of the gameplay elements and UI may be subject to change.

As we are nearing the end of our Kickstarter campaign, we hope to be able to hit some more of the stretch goals so we can add our second playable character, Morgiana, who would come with her own storyline, featuring new abilities, magic, and additional dungeons and monsters.

We are also giving out some free signed prints, LE plushies, and games on our Facebook page.

Last but not least, we’d like to give a big shout-out to the super nice guys from BlitWorks who have already started working on moving Dragon Fin Soup to PS3, PS4, and PS Vita!

Please feel free to ask us questions — it would be our pleasure to respond to each post.

Take care everyone and talk soon!

  • I love the way the main character looks. Any chance we can see more art?

  • Oh my gosh! This is definitely the kind of game the PS Vita needs! Heck, I’m a fan of this kind of thing! I was raised on Walt Disney Faerie classics like Sleeping Beauty and Peter Pan and I grew up playing great games like The Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker and Final Fantasy Tactics so this is certainly a game that I’m gonna be buying day one and pass on to my children!

Will this game have nods to stuff like the pop cultural Faeiry Tales of stuff like Once Upon A Time, Grimm and Maleficent? I ask because you guys have a giant reference to Terry Pratchett’s “Discworld” with the game taking place on the back of a giant cosmic turtle. I also like the fact you guys gave the “Red Riding Hood” girl the name “Red Robin” like the restaurant. I’m gonna hit up that restaurant with my Vita in tow just to eat a burger there and play this game under their roof ;) Also, will there be “Hidden Trophies”?

    • Thank you! We hope you will like the game :)
We do not plan referencing modern fairy tales or other IPs but of course there might be easter eggs.
The giant space turtle btw is not an invention of Terry Pratchett, the turtle in Discworld is like in our game based on actual mythology.
We did not start working on the Trophies yet so we can not share any info on it at this point

  • WORK WITH GOOGLE online, seriously I couldn’t be happier I work when I want and where I want. And with a little effort I easily bring in 50h and sometimes even as much as 80h…heres a good example of what I’m doing…………..jℴℬs35.ℭℴℳ

  • Man, I’m genuinely impressed with the sheer amount of thinking people’s games with true replay value that are making their way onto Vita as of late. Looks good, and I’ll definitely grab it once it’s released (along with Futuridium, Galak-Z and Rogue Legacy). So many games, so little time!
