Space is equally beautiful and scary – getting stranded out there would not be a fun time. In Velocity Ultra you’ll assume control of a spacecraft tasked with rescuing survivors who clearly ran into some unfortunate circumstances while out in the universe. Using your craft’s special teleport ability you’ll save people while simultaneously bringing down the bad guys.

There’s a great deal on the pre-order for Wolfenstein: The New Order on PS4 or PS3, so check it out below. There are also lots of games on sale this week for Plus members including several awesome Vita titles like Persona 4 Golden, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Hacov, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection and Ys: Memories Of Celceta.

  • Not interested in the free game this week but love the discount on all the japanese games. I was waiting for a sale on these types of games for a long time. Just wish Danganronpa was alittle cheaper.

  • Velocity Ultra is amazing, I’m glad more people get to play it. I can’t wait for 2X. :) The sale is what I’m interested in this week.

  • Any news on new yearly titles for the PS3 games or the vita titles? Not sure if there are any news as of yet or if it will be something mention around E3 time. Nice sales by the way. Some very good deals on some of the titles involved will make it hard to pass them up!

  • I need a larger HDD.

  • I love the Deals i’m so picking up Metal Gear Collection and Soulcalibur V

  • Is the Hot Shots discount for the Vita or PS3 version?

  • Very nice! Will grab Velocity Ultra for my Vita and Daylight and MGS HD on discounts! Excited to see how Jessica Chobot can flex her creative muscle as a writer!

  • Already got Velocity on sale before and great game.

Discounts are very nice this week, although kind of wish Danganrompa was discounted more. Tale of Symphonia for $10 is awesome though.

  • @6 I believe it is for the PS3 version. It shows PS3 on the other blog post regarding the huge Japanese game sales.

  • The free game I am not feeling, but the discounts are great.

  • I really want “Don’t Starve” to go on sale.

  • Danganronpa on discount for me.

Too bad the IGC continues to suck really hard on Vita. Maybe someday NA will get decent PS+ games on Vita that are not just cheap Indies or PSP games. You know, like real, full, retail Vita games like EU gets

  • PSPlus has so much value. I can even see Plus members getting exclusive discounts for new retail games. Plus would definitely get more support if it becomes the best subscription to have to buy games.

  • Any chance we will get a video detailing some of the new features in firmware 1.70?

  • Velocity Ultra was a nice surprise. I bought it a few months back when it was on sale. It just works great on the Vita.

  • Tales and DBZ(Vita) for me for sure. 20$ for so much gaming. <3

  • Unable to pus wallet into screen.

  • Last week you had a sale for Batman Arkham Origins Vita, it was $12.59 for plus and $13.99 for regular price. I believed that this special was good for a week. I went to buy Arkham Origins last Friday and it was $19.99.

I must admit I am a bit disapointed, I thought it was a great price for this title.

Any chance it will go back to $12.59?

    Thank you,

  • Awesome discounts thanks again.

  • Question Kristine! Is Hot Shots Golf the PS Vita version or the PS3 version? If it’s the PS Vita version then payday can’t come soon enough, great discounts this week guys ^0^/

  • i wished we had another game on vita

  • Gotta love PS+! I never got around to playing this game but I’m looking forward to downloading it tomorrow along with Child of Light, and Daylight. It’s a great time to be a Playstation owner!

  • What about hot shot golf world invitation for vita? no discount? thanks

  • Velocity Ultra is among my all time top ten games. I’m very jealous of those who get to experience it for the first time. So excited for 2X.

Great week of discounts, too. I’ll be upgrading from physical discs to digital for at least two and as many as five games in my backlog so I can play them on my Vita (Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross for sure, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection and Muramasa Rebirth are maybes). I get through games a lot faster on my Vita and my backlog could use the relief (it’s currently at 194 games).

  • Persona Golden will change your life.

  • Discount table definitely needs a better way to identify systems. Maybe a column for the system with check boxes?

Is the AC game a PS3 one? I’m assuming blank means PS3… off to google now I guess, but it would have been nice if that information was here.

  • Yes! Been waiting for a sale like this! Glad I saved my money! :)

  • Velocity Ultra is a lot of fun. I got a lot of play time out of the PS Mini version when it was free, so I was compelled to purchase the HD upgrade when it was on sale a while ago. Also looking forward to Velocity 2X.

  • Dragon Ball Z: Battle Of Z (Ps Vita) for $10.00? I think i’ll have to get that.

  • hey! change the seccond column title. it says “regular price” but it’s actually the “sale price”. it makes look the sale a lot less interesting thinking that muramasa changed from 12.99 to 7.59 when in the real scenario, it changed from 24.99 to 7.59

  • @12 (Mando44646) – I’m really not trying to pick on you man, but your statement just struck a nerve with me. Here are the retail games that have been given to us since this time last year: 1) BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend, 2) Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward, 3) Rayman Origins, 4) Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD, 5) Soul Sacrifice, 6) Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, 7) Smart As…, 8) Street Fighter X Tekken, 9) ModNation Racers: Road Trip, 10) Unit 13. That’s nearly an average of 1 retail game per month. I understand that you didn’t get Muramasa for May, and have not received P4G, Killzone, Tearaway, LBP etc. (you know, the games that they would be insane to give away since they’re the best games on the system). Basically, I want to know what is it you expect from Sony with PS Plus?! Is your expectation that they put all of their best games up for free? I know that EU has a few more Vita AAAs in the same time period, but the discrepency is not at all vast (I only recall them getting Sly 4, Dynasty Warriors, Hot Shots Golf, and Moto GP), and in that same time period, we crush the EU with the PS3 games we get. Just want to hear you out.

  • Perfect timing! I just wasted $22 on that terrible game Starlight Inception.. and was a little bummed to not have anything to play on my Vita. Picking up Ys and Muramasa for my Vita and Daylight for my 4. Woo hoo!

  • It’s been over a month without new avatras. UK and Japan have over 5k avatrs to choose from, why cant we have the same quality stuff they have? there’s no love for us anime folks :(

  • @31 Thats a fair point. But when comparing against the AAAs that PS3 gets each month (it seems at least 2/month), Vita pales in comparison. I understand PS4 not getting much because its new, and I totally understand that. But Vita has a *ton* of retail games available at this point they could do – and EU gets at least 1 per month. I didnt buy a Vita to play PSP games and I’d buy the one or two that I actually want on it. I didnt buy it to play Indies I already own on Steam either. I get that some people really enjoy Indies, but I dont. There’s a huge lack of variety in the offerings and it sucks that it seems PSP games and Indies are all we ever really get. Not to mention that they dont even bother switching out the annual games on Vita as they do on PS3, which hurts that variety even more. If I didnt have a PS3, I’d probably cancel my sub for PS+ currently until the Vita and/or PS4 slate picks up more.

On a totally separate note, I think its awesome that there is a launch discount for Wolfenstein. I hope to seem more of that in the future from PS+!

  • For the poll, I would have liked to see a choice on “Golden Week Sale”. I’d like to make sure the ability to tell you the sale on Japanese games is the hit of this weeks party.

  • If you own a Vita and DON’T own Persona 4 Golden… do yourself a favor and pick it up.

I was a skeptic about it before playing it, but when I finished the game 80 (!) hours later, I was sad it was over. It’s become one of my favorite games of all time, and the Vita version is the definitive one, with tons more content than the PS2 version.

The first couple of hours set up an EXTREMELY good story, and once you get into your first dungeon and start fighting, you’ll be hooked. The game keeps getting better and better as it goes, and it has some really satisfying hidden endings to uncover if you miss them the first time around (in the vein of Castlevania: SOTN, where one of the endings adds significantly to the gameplay and where another explains the motivations of the hidden antagonist.)

The other JRPGs on the list are great, but Persona 4 Golden is the clear must-have. Give it a try. You won’t be sorry!

  • When are we getting HBO go for the PS4?

  • tales for 10? a must buy… awesome tales games…. been waiting for a price drop on saint seiya i definitely will go for it… great discounts!

  • @34 (Mando44646) – Thanks for responding back and for not taking any offense from my statement. I just want to know where you are coming from. PS Plus is such an interesting business experiment from the perspective of “product value” and “consumer satisfaction.” On the one hand, you pay a relatively low price to get access to a relatively high amount of products. On the other hand, you don’t get a say in what those products end up being (all you know is that they’ll be video games…lol!). I definitely find that I don’t always love what I get, but I feel like it be crazy not to sign up for it since the value proposition is so damn high. I mean, it’s worth it for the sale prices alone we get over the year, right?

  • Wow, some really nice discounts this week :)

  • Continued from #39 – I think the real problem you’re talking about is not PS Plus, but Vita not having enough AAA games to keep you a happy customer, right? If you look at the list of actual high-budget Vita games out there, it’s relatively small, especially compared to what PSP had within it’s first couple years. Listen, I get it…I’m frustrated that we have not really heard of Sony developing Vita titles based on some of their existing IP. Why have we not at least heard about Vita iterations of Infamous, GOW, Gran Turismo, etc.? Also, it’s frustrating that it’s not selling well enough to get third-parties to back it with some of it’s IP (i.e., GTA, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, etc.). I’m hopeful, however, that we’ll get some big reveals during the summer conference season (E3, Gamescom). After all, they’ve announced a bunch of AAA Vita titles already for the fall (mostly JRPGs but still…), seemingly to get them out of the way of whatever they have cookin’ for later announcements. I have faith in Shuhei and crew to deliver for those that bought the Vita for AAA experiences (although I do love the indies as well!).

  • YO SONY
    Pls Respond

Do all of us a favor and ask Square Enix why they don’t like money because one of their strongest PSP titles isn’t on PSN. Please get them to put up Final Fantasy Crisis Core.

PLEASE do the same with CAPCOM. Ask why they hate money. You would think that with $150ish million in the bank that they would at least use the assets they have to try and make money. I’m speaking of course about the MEGA MAN X games that still aren’t on PSN. They have 4 games to work with (X-3 ported to PS in Japan) that people ban play on PS3 or Vita.
They could EASILY charge $10 a title.

Wow thank me later Sony and Capcom. You terrible business men can have this one for free.

  • @36, secularsage, is completely right. P4G is still the best game on Vita and I had exactly the same experience he describes. The game seems to start slowly, setting things up, so at first I thought it was an overrated bore. Just give it a little time and you’ll be hooked, too

Best use of/controls for a turn-based game that I could even imagine. I’m going to replay P4G to pick up more trophies.

  • Love the wolfenstein discount!!!!!!!! hope to see these discounts more often

  • I got my Vita just after the Persona sale, which is too bad because I would have picked up Persona 1-3 on my Vita in a second for 10 bucks each. Isn’t their anyway we can see that one more time?

  • How about you show Vita users some real, actual love and fix the situation with the PSP and PS1 games?

  • OK. Clearly I’m missing something, but can someone tell me why I’m not seeing Metal Gear Solid HD Collection at its sale price? In fact, the price listed doesn’t even compare to the price in the store. MGS HD Collection is showing up as either $29.99 (PS Vita) or $39.99 (PS3). What am I doing wrong?

  • Great sales, looks like I will be resubscribing this week.

@47 DotComCTO – The PS Store only updates tomorrow
    .

  • I thought Hot Shots Golf was cross buy… Can anyone confirm this?

  • @49 Mikraphne – According to the SEN store website it’s not cross buy.
