The Drop: New PlayStation Games for 6/3/2014
The Drop

Amidst the sound of shattered glass, Detective Ronan O’Connor falls to his death, his body crumpled on the pavement below the broken window. But this is only the beginning of his story in Murdered: Soul Suspect, which launches on PS4 and PS3 this week.

In Murdered: Soul Suspect, players take control of Ronan — a troubled detective with a messy past — moments after his own murder. Now as his spirit wanders through the purgatorial world of the Dusk, players must help Ronan harness his newfound supernatural abilities and solve the mystery behind his own untimely demise. But the town of Salem has a dark history as well, and answering Ronan’s questions won’t be easy — especially with hungry demons prowling the afterlife.

Murdered isn’t the only big new game on the block, however. War Thunder is also launching on PS4 this week, and PlayStation Vita Pets is coming to Vita for a more light-hearted gaming experience. You can never have too many puppies.

For a complete list of games coming to PlayStation on Tuesday, read on. And enjoy the Drop!

Hopefully, the choice ends up haunting them…

  • Ubisoft has issued a temporary fix for Watch Dogs “90% Loading Bug”. This bug is a nasty one and results in gamers being unable to continue playing the game. It occurs when players download or claim any item via Uplay Store.

Here is what the temporary solution from Ubisoft reads. The publisher has promised to fix this issue permanently via patch which is currently in development at Ubisoft Montreal.

  • These all look great ^^ unfortunately the only two ill be playing due to limitations on money are Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfect, Pixeljunk Shooter, and War Thunder :D War Thunder cause its free and looks great Pixeljunk because same thing XD and Neptunia because I LOVE the Hyperdimension Neptunia franchise easily one of my favorite JRPG franchises, I cant understand why they get so panned by critics :( but atleast there recognized for their greatness by my fellow gamers ^^

  • and yes im aware that Producing Perfect is more of a spin off with a more Idol Managing style of gameplay instead of JRPG but ive played that type of game before and if yiu canget i nto simulation games you might like it ^^

  • @62 They get bashed because the gameplay is repetitive, the graphics are worse than other JRPGs on the current-gen market and the story is all over the place. The characters tend to get on lots of people’s nerves as well. They’re annoying and whiny. The perversion goes to whole new levels at certain points too, which make most of the gaming audience in North America and Europe, pretty much anywhere but Japan, sick to their stomachs. They keep pumping out games for their tiny group of fans, in-such, they will always get bad reviews because they’re pretty much always the same thing, maybe with one or two more “New” characters, that are annoying, once again, and improved kinks in the already boring and tedious battle system. There’s lots of room for improvement in the series, and by the way they’re putting out games, like re-hashing the first one onto the Vita and “Producing Perfection”, they’re getting nowhere.

  • Just Neptunia and PixelJunk for me this week. Interested in Murdered, but I’ll have to pick it up down the line.

Not sure if i should preorder it on PS4 tomorrow at gs. I don’t think there is any preorder bonus, but to be honest after this then UFC there really isn’t ANYTHING mid-major coming out until september – not including PS4 remastered games like TLOU or Metro.

  • @64 I can see those complaints but personaly I disagree I don’t think the gameplay is anymore repetitive than any other JRPG out there, I think the graphics while not fantastic are appealing, the characters to appeal to a niche market (mainly huge anime nerds) but i dont think there annoying and the sexual perversion is over the top but its supposed to be its fanservice. Besides that placing haterw of the series in the majority may be true on the critics side but on the general public side well just check user scores on metacritic. I wasnt insulting critics or saying they were stupid Imnot one to get that upset over an oppinion I was just disagreeing. If you dont like them great but I dont see why it was neccesary to try tearing the series a new one over my frankly innocent comment.

@ 67 – Frankly u have every right to distrust critics & supposedly non bias rating sites like Metacritic. Metacritic picks & chooses which critics they use on a given game – meaning they purposely choose 30-50 reviews out of thousands of online reviews in order for the chosen game to attain the specific score they (or whoever is paying them) want. Even Game informer & ign ( unfortunately ) are not entirely clean. Some scores are just baffling (KZ Shadowfall-72 while Cod Ghosts-78) & some scores are just slightly off like Wolfenstein (PS4)- 78 when it clearly deserves 84 or better, same with KZ Mercenary which is a masterpiece on the Vita & it only gets a 78? I know ppl like gta5 but it is NOT better than The Last of Us as Metacritic would have u believe, honestly gta5 is fun but the formula is redundant & the graphics are mediocre as well the drama & story are a far cry from TLOU. Btw Knack isn’t a 54 & Amazing Spider-man 2 (PS4) isn’t a 50! That means both xbox versions are better? The 360 version got a 55 & the xbone version that they wouldn’t even release in stores got rated higher than the PS4 version, it is a JOKE! Don’t be influenced by $ & corruption decide for yourself.

  • @67 Sorry for butting in, but another complaint ive seen often on the Neptunia series was the complex customization options and gameplay options. I love the Neptunia franchise, but ive seen that complaint even though the gameplay has been simplified a lot since the first game. I would like to hear your opinion on that since you explained pretty well your concern on certain critics.
Sorry for the messed up english

  • WAR THUNDER!!!!

  • @69 I personally dont think the customization options are to complex yeah they can be kinda ovrwhelming at first especially to newcomers of the genre but its great once you get the hang of it.

  • Please put Kira and Yagyu DLC for JoJo All Star Battle!!

Kira is the only character missing in my slot!!!

  • No way Murdered:Soul Suspect is already releasing…damn…time goes fast.Gotta get that game at some point,it looks promising.

  • I have a question to ask. Can you add Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, Zuma, Zuma’s Revenge, and WET to PS Now after it’s released? I would love to play them on the PS Vita. Thanks!:D

  • Videos here has just been black boxes for me lately, is it with chrome there are issues or it it just my computer?

  • Sure I’ll replay PixalJunk shooter I pretty much love that game. But Murdered: Soul Suspect, that game has been my most anticipated for a very long time. I want it to do well, but I’d be happy with sleeper hit of the year.

  • No Treasures of Montezuma: Arena? Come on, it;s already out in EU.

  • Hmm, another import I can’t understand or get any enjoyment out of. Still crossing my fingers that one day we’ll get Gunners Heaven, Vib Ribbon, and Slap Happy Rhythm Busters.

  • Nothing. Guess ill keep going for the transistor plat. Taking me time though. Ten minutes in and im bored again. Maybe i can grab that old pix junk. Been sometime since i played that on the ps3…why did i get a ps4 if all the games are on the ps3? Theres maybe one good title a month if that on this ps4. Everything else is an indie or import. I miss the games that had more gameplay then story i guess. To think, i actually used to look forward to the store updates. Man you guys have it tough. But you get paid at least. Shame we pay. Thanks!

  • another dissappointing month, at least I don’t have to check back until July.

  • Murdered sounds a lot like Shadow of Destiny/Memories. Which isn’t a bad thing at all, SoD is such an underrated game, IMO.

  • FINALLLY!!! 1001 Spikes is one my most wanted lists and I get to swap between my Vita and PS4, awwww yeah.

  • Nice murdered souls looks awesome and 1001 spikes will be challenging and fun. And I can’t forget war thunder wich I have been wanting to check out.

  • How many more first person shooters are they going to shove down our throats before they realize we’re sick and tired of them?
I’m ready to just put my PS4 back in the box and call it quits. There’s nothing worth playing on it.

  • “How many more first person shooters are they going to shove down our throats before they realize we’re sick and tired of them?”

I have no idea what game you’re referencing , but I think they’ll realize we’re sick and tired of shooters when we stop buying millions of them every year. Till then, don’t get your hopes up.

  • man! this is a good week for PS4 owners. glad to see some love shown. downloading PJ Shooter, Soul Suspect & Worms and the UFC demo immediately.

any way we can get an HD or updated version of PJ Monsters on PS4? my wife loved that game. by far our favorite PJ game. i’d even re-buy that one.

  • Cool stuff. I wish Legend of Dragoon was on the Vita Market Place.

  • More PS1 Classics PLEASE!!! Preferably ones that are actually in English:

    Vandal Hearts 1 and 2
    Megaman Legends 1 and 2
    Jade Cocoon
    Einhander
    Diablo
    Die Hard Trilogy
    Suikoden 2
    Saga Frontier
    Nightmare Creatures

    And some PSP love:
Final Fantasy VII – Crisis Core
    EA Replay

And how about the ability to play games like Scott Pilgrim and the X-Men and Simpsons arcade games on the Vita? I imagine it can’t be that hard to do.

  • Awful week as usual.

  • TheFlyingPuffin

Can someone with knowledge of this confirm that Murdered: Soul Suspect will indeed be a digital download on the PS store in addition to retail? Haven’t seen any pre-order options up.

  • No Blogcast today or later than ever? Double Blogcast Special Edition Bundle(TM) this week? ;)

  • GangsOfNewYork1

What the hell Konami? Would it be that to put Suikoden II up?
