PlayStation Store May 2014 Top Sellers

Justin Massongill's Avatar Posted by Social Media Manager, SIEA

Excuse me if I keep this brief, but I’m writing this in the midst of our E3 preparations. It’s gonna be a good one!

Watch_Dogs and Transistor took top honors on May’s PS4 PlayStation Store charts, with a respectable debut from MachineGames’ old-school new-school shooter Wolfenstein: The New Order.

Minecraft has built a cozy home at the top of the PS3 charts, but Red Dead Redemption sure gave it a shot. Watch_Dogs rounded out the top three — a successful month for Ubisoft’s new open-world thriller!

Hope Borderlands 2 on Vita is doing well. It’s super awesome on Vita. I’d like to see the rest of the DLC, and hopefully more FPS in the future on Vita. (sucks mobile FPS makers don’t seem to make ports to Vita… would love a native version of N.O.V.A…)

I’m glad Borderlands 2 crashed and burned.

@5 Why would you be glad? Even if you don’t like the game its success opens up way more doors. You are truly a sad sad person if you route for anything to fail instead of routing for things you like to succeed.

Chrono Trigger isn’t worth a cent. It’s an unplayable bad port of a very good game.

I purchased Wolfenstein, Transistor, and Watchdogs on the PS4 in May.

Wolfenstein was the biggest surprise hit to me. It was a refreshing mix of new and old style FPS, you could play through it stealthy like or go guns blazing, and it had a good story.

Watchdogs isn’t quite hooking me yet. It may be that I only have about 3 hours into it so far but I am disappointed with the driving so far.

Just like Supergiant Games other game Bastion, Transistor is a gorgeous game with a great play style. I hope they keep making games like this. And if you haven’t checked out Bastion yet, you should.

You can easily tell which titles were on deep discount. Seeing “P3P -> P2IS -> SMTP” for PSP was a good laugh (I got those three and Growlanser). Glad to see Child of Light making its presence (got it for PS3, though Cross-Buy really should’ve been a thing States-side), but the Golem’s Plight… I’d wager that’s due to having to “buy” it for free as part of the PS Store pre-purchase process. Impressed at SMT: Nocturne’s placing, only beaten by the illustrious CHRONO titles (finally nabbed CROSS for myself). Look at Tales of Symphonia’s placing! Hear that, [relevant companies]?! Now bring over the PS3 version of Vesperia! Lastly, a nod to Outlast’s add-on, in the sea of COD’s nickel-&-fiving schemes.

Any idea if Child of Light will be cross-buy when the VIta version releases? I dont really want to be forced to double-buy it

Watch Dogs PS3 only on #3 for the biggest launch yet this year , what a huge dissapointment…

And Wolfenstein not even in top20 on PSN?? R.I.P PS3..

Hey Sony wake up! Gamers want free digital upgrades and lower prices on ps3 now.

I was just thinking, will the store update on Monday like last E3 ? Or will you find the time to do it on E3 night ?

@ Mando44646: Hahahaha… because it releasing on the Vita forces you to buy it? I love and support my Vita too, but CoL just came out and I’m still playing through it on PS4. Unless it has cross-buy AND cross-save, there’s no point to buy it again… unless it also has a new trophy list.
But again, seriously, nothing in the universe is forcing you to double-dip on it if it isn’t cross-buy. That’s just you deciding to give Ubisoft more money.
