Update: An earlier headline for this post stated that Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is coming to PS Vita, which was incorrect. Type-0 is coming to PS4 in North America and Europe.
I’d like to start this out by thanking everyone who let us know how badly you wanted this game to come to North America. Ever since the original PlayStation Portable release in Japan, you guys have never given up on it, raising your voices in an effort to see this title come to North America and Europe. Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s coming and it’s going to be in HD.

Not having anything announced for the Vita at E3 was disappointing.
This is just depressing.
This is both really exciting and really disappointing.
It really seems that Sony is giving up on the Vita. It was a slap in the face while they spent 10 minutes talking about some TV show Powers at E3 while hardly giving PSVita a mention. This is the game that all PSP owners have been waiting for and to see it taken to the XBone instead of the Vita is really disappointing.
I was really looking forward to a GTA City Stories announcement for the Vita. But I have little hope now. Like not even most PS2 ports are done properly on the Vita.
well, I guess square-enix joins my boycott list just like sega. #novitanobuy
Part of me feels like Sony is intentionally trolling us. I mean, after ignoring the Vita last night they finally make a huge Vita announcement that many have been asking for, and than turn around and saying it’s coming to the PS4 and not the Vita. After my disappoint from yesterday, I can only laugh it at this.

I left my first comment hours ago and now the thread is growing rapidly. I can’t help writing. I’m a hard-core PlayStation fan and I own all the PS systems that are on the market right now. I admit that I am very unlikely to switch to another platform just because of this. But I’m no longer sure if I should recommend PlayStation, especially the Vita, to my friends. I believe many Vita owners are just like me. With the overall condition going down for Vita ever since its release, who do you think are still supporting it? The people who REALLY LOVE. Yes by porting this game to Vita you probably lose some money, but not making it on Vita destroys the fan base of PlayStation. Note it’s PlayStation not just Vita. Which one is worse?

Was genuinely excited at first when I heard of the news until I saw that it’s going to be on PS4/X1 only. That’s a huge letdown since I wanted it on the Vita, don’t even care about the HD portion of it. Welp, guess I’ll have to skip out on this one then.

I’m getting the game regardless, but I would have been much happier with a Vita version since I was clamoring for the game on PSP for so long.
Criticism aside, I’m still overjoyed because the game is actually COMING! Exciting news for sure.
Can’t believe so many ppl are complaining about #Type0 being on PS4 and not Vita…. NO ONE SAID THAT IT WOULD BE ON VITA DERPS.
HELLO FINAL FANTASY FANS! WE FINALLY HAVE FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0 COMING TO THE WEST! And on PS4, in full HD, on the big screen! I’m CRAZY EXCITED to finally play this gem after so many years! Vita has so many great games already. Sure, Type-0 would have been a great added bonus to its rich library, but playing it on the big screen is the option i prefer. PS4 is a great system lacking JRPGs, so Type-0 is PEFECT.

Also from a buisness perspective, this is how SE will make more profit. We all know SE is stingy so sales on Vita vs sales on PS4/One….. it’s easy to choose which is the better, more profitable option to get the game in as many hands as possible.
However, the fact that the post stated initially as a Vita/PS4 port, then change is unacceptable SE. Especially since so many Vita/PSP owners (i still had my PSP just incase after so long) were BEGGING, including myself, for this game to come to USA/Europe. I was one of the many that posted, tweeted, and more to SE on the localization of Type-0. I’ll say it again: the LOCALIZATION of Type-0. Not preferring a platform since I’m the gamer that follows games, not consoles. I am a dedicated fan, so I’ll buy the HD port regardless. But the slap on the face will be remembered, not much from me because I like it being on PS4, but from the THOUSANDS that asked for it on Vita.

First its no ps4 games now its no vita games make up your mind people, You are all hypocrites btw i bet 90 percent of you complained that a psp game or a vita game wasn’t on console. Dude?! No Vita!?! Is this punishment for Sony selling their Squenix stock? I am so dissapoint.
If Square is really holding back Type 0 on the Vita because of the handheld’s less than desirable sales then that’s just as bad as Ubisoft fully developing games for the Wii U but won’t be releasing them until the Wii U sells more consoles.

You don’t even know what you’re talking about. The vita fanbase was the crowd that called for it to the west with #JRPGVita. This blog post also initially said Vita only as well. Then it’s edited to be PS4 exclusive, on a console where it shouldn’t be on and to a group that didn’t even ask for it? The real kicker is the multiplat for the Xbox one when that fanbase is not likely to buy a game like Type-0. To top it all off, there hasn’t been a single apology from Square Enix or from Sony about this.

Yes Draglade I did read your post And I understand the anger, but like sorahl213 said the bigger picture here is that finally FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0 IS GETTING LOCALIZED! Yes I know about the original tweet about a vita version and yeah it sucks alittle but no one ever thought we were going to get this game so it should be celebration for that regardless of the platform.
Oh, also, I would have loved a Vita version but I will take it on my PS4 and be SO HAPPY!
