Which Wheels Work with Driveclub?
Update: We know many of you were looking forward to playing the promised PS Plus Edition and we are truly sorry for the delay. Our first priority is to provide you with the best possible experience while playing DRIVECLUB. With the high volume of new players and additional server load the PS Plus Edition is anticipated to bring, we are currently not confident that we can guarantee the best online experience. Until we can ensure that everyone can enjoy the full social connected online experience, we will be postponing the release of the PS Plus Edition until further notice.

For a while now, racing fans have been asking for details on which wheels Driveclub will support when it hits stores on October 7th. That time has finally come!

Our goal is to bring out the racer in everyone – so we’ve worked hard to make the driving fun and challenging for you, not only on DualShock 4 but also on all of the wheels currently compatible with PS4.

We’ve been working really closely with Thrustmaster on their new T80 & T300RS wheels, to make sure that they’re perfectly tuned for Driveclub and PS4. Who doesn’t love to lock their thumbs into a good racing wheel and get lost in the moment, believing that they’re pro drivers?!

In fact, we’ve actually spent time with pro drivers recently and we got to see what they could do behind the wheel of a Thrustmater T300RS in DRIVECLUB! It was epic to see Sebastian Loeb acing almost every corner of an epic downhill point-to-point route set in Canada and naturally set one of the fastest lap times we’ve ever seen – on his first go.

We hope to support more from Thrustmaster and other providers, as more wheels hit the shelves for PS4. We can’t wait for you all to get your hands on it and we’ll see you all on the track on October 7th.

  • I have a DFGT and won’t be purchasing any driving games until this issue is sorted. Maybe some communication between Sony and Logitech might help sort out the issue? As they just seem to be pointing the finger at each other rather than trying to resolve it. Are you actively trying to resolve the issue Sony or do you have no intention of supporting the currently available Logitech Racing Wheels?

  • The game is so arcade like that a high end wheel is really of no benefit IMHO. I played for an hour or so last night and was not super impressed. I have to admit they got me on this one. The graphics are god, great actually, but not near the level of the screen shots, as usual. The mechanics are similar to most other sims with little actual car feel. A good sim at best. I have yet to see how the “social” aspect works as the connection to DC server would keep a constant connection last night. Will try later today and hope for better results.

But as far as selling my G27 to get a TM300RS…we firstly I cannot find one in the US, second the Thrustmaster website is so terrible I cannot get a release date confirmation, third…well I think one and two are enough to demonstrate why Thrustmaster is not the first name in gaming wheels. But I bet they are psyched they got the PS logo on their box. So, no need for a wheel really for this game and maybe by the time GT7 or other more closely to sim games come out there will be work arounds for the G27 and other wheels out there.

  • Just learned that this game suck and it is overhyped. This is based on the many reviews so far. It is like Destiny and Alien: Isolation. You thought these games are going to be blockbusters but as it turns out, they’re terrible!! They’re overhyped and now I don’t even care about whether the Logitech wheels are compatible anymore….thank GODDD!! I am not getting it. I am DONE!! I am not getting it anyway wheather the game is great or not due to incompatibility of the wheels. BUT now that I learned that it suck, it makes it that easy to forget the entire thing.

I disagree with some of the reviews – for instance, one of them claimed there’s no music during the game, but you can turn it up from the settings after a few seconds of browsing around (a 7 year old could figure this out?)

Don’t always trust professional reviews – they’re idiots like you and me. So far I’ve found Driveclub very good (honest!)

  • Sony, you need to resolve this issue with no Logitech wheel support. It is down right unbelievable that I can’t use my driving force GT wheel with drive club. I have been looking forward to this game for over a year, and now that it’s out I don’t even want it. I’m not going to buy another inferior wheel just because you are greedy. It’s a USB plug for Christ sake, just include the drivers in your next patch. This wheel was designed for gran turismo (even has the gt logo right in the middle). I don’t understand why you would try to pull this crap on you loyal fans and supporters. If you want to make more money, make a better product, don’t block excellent existing ones. Plus, think of the environment. Why make all of those perfectly good wheels out there useless? You would sell more games if you figure this out. Please Sony, do the right thing.

  • Seriously Sony, add support for the Logitech wheels or count me as another lost sale for the game and the season pass you want to sell with it!

  • I couldn’t agree more, I paid good money for my Driving Force GT wheel to play your SONY EXCLUSIVE GRAN TURISMO, and to leave me high and dry is a little bit more than disrespectful. I want to buy this game but if you won’t support the wheel I bought for Sony (and PC) products then I feel like well, I feel like I have a Kinect that is not supported by any of the games I want to play. Trust me you don’t wanna be anything like a Kinect…. And for this whole Logitech vs Sony thing, I’m sure you guys have the deep pockets to resolve the issue. It sounds to me you have a deal with Thrustmaster as they where the highest bidder, therefore you keep making these excuses. We are not stupid, treat us with the respect we deserve after supporting your business for so many years.

  • ** EDIT No offense to the Xbox One guys … I have an Xbone, I just feel they left us out to dry with the promises of how amazing it will be, and how every game will include some Kinect features.

  • hey, brought the game on day 1. they thought i was on drugs in the store, man, i was excited. plugged in driving force gt………………[i was soooooo excited at this point, i mean really excited. drive club was the main reason i brought the PS4] …………….nothing happened????? i then went online thinking there must be a way to connect………………………..i was so pissed. i ejected the disc and may never put it back in. i’ll have to check in once in a while to see if there’s been any changes. i won’t be spending $700 NZ on the thrustmasterT300RS and i wouldn’t ever consider playing the game on the T80. What i think will happen is I’m down $100 and i’ll never play this game.

  • “We can’t support other wheels unless they’re compatible with PS4 :(”

Then please explain how Logitech wheels work with the PS4 game War Thunder?

  • I am so happy that I have not bought the PS4 till now.

And I am sure I will not as long as Sony does not supprot my Drivin Force GT wheel.

Sorry for all who bought a PS4 thinking they could use their existing wheels.

“Sorry for the Players” should be the new PS4 Slogan.

  • Hi Jamie, I have purchased the PS+ Upgrade version of Driveclub. I have seen Driveclub also work with the Thrustmaster T500RS wheel, which you omitted in your post. What I really want to know is, does Driveclub support the Clutch and Shifter for the T300RS or T500RS wheels?
If not why not? This is a racing game afterall..

  • We Need Logitech g25 and/or g27 or i will stay with Playstation Plus editio, saving me 50$

I need leather wheel, so, i hope you fix this before F1 2015 or GranTurismo or all my racing game will be on PC.

  • Sony need to respond about the security chip necessary on controller on ps4 (or hopefully remove this perequisites for controller in next operating system update). What critical security this chip enhance to not give classic wheel support and let their users rebuy a 100-300$ controller for nothing. Particulary, on usb wired controller (not wireless), they already accept usb keyboard and mouse.

  • I’ll continue playing with my controller until my G25 or DFGT gets supported. Speaking of controller/remote play button configurations, can you add the possibility to map throttle/brake to the right analog stick? As a long time Gran Turismo fan, I find it very annoying to drive the car using the shoulder buttons.

  • I have a Logitech Driving Force GT for peter sakes, make this work!!!

  • So, you “SONY” let us wait a year for Driveclub, then you smack a shovel in our faces by not supporting Logitech wheels on PS4? I can tell you this, if i knew about this, i would not have bought the PS4, cause you know what? Most of the good racing games is released for pc, and my PS3 Gt wheel is F**king working on all racing games on my pc! So, i will never ever buy a racing game for the ps4 again! Time to put my Ps4 on ebay……….. =(

  • No support for Driving Force GT, no DriveClub.

  • This is BS i have a 300$ steering wheel that i used for the ps3 now u want me to buy a new steering wheel to play a racing game i wont be buying racing games on ps4

  • Just bought a t80 (non drive club version) and all works except the accelerator pedal, help please!!

  • Just bought a t80 (non drive club version) and all works except the accelerator pedal, help please!! This is on ps4 drive club

  • It totally sucks PS4 doesn’t support logitech steering wheel. I think I will be playing more PS3 until PS4 is compatible with the G27 or G25 . Playstation need to wake up as logitech has been around a lot longer then the other brand and it is obvious there is more of them. Ps I’ve had all playstations and I’m not impressed.

  • Guess I should be thankful to SONy for this. As this was the only thing that kept from buying the game and the console. And it turned out to be really bad, nothing like the ads. Last gen graphics, bad ai, bad controls, server problems, what else?

So thank you sony for saving me from wasting my money on a bad game.

  • PS: But that doesn’t mean you can get away with not supporting Logitech wheels. You have to solve that issue before GT7.

  • I LOVE THE GAME AND I’M ALSO UPSET ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO USE MY DRIVING FORCE GT WHEEL BUT IS IT NOT SONY THAT HAVE TO MAKE A DRIVER OR SOMETHING TO MAKE IT WOTK AND NOT JUST THE GAME MAKERS? .

  • OH and I guess I’ll play more GT 6 on the PS3

  • It’s nice that you’re trying to support as much steering wheels as possible, but what’s concerning me is that I haven’t heard anything about adding support to Hori Racing Wheel 4, which is ALREADY available and is officialy licensed by SCEA. I bought it yesterday and don’t plan on buying another Logitech/Thrustmaster wheel. Any word on when this wheel is going to be supported? Thank you very much!

  • You need to have the drivingforce GT working on the PS4 as standard with all games. Its a disgrace if you dont having only Gran Turismo on PS3 being compatible so far. It has all the buttons and is simply a button map nothing more to make this work.

    Sony get your finger out!

  • Please support Logitech G27.
    “This is for the players”

    isn’t it…

  • I own a Logitech wheel that is under a year old and I’m not going to buy a new one just to play your game… damn shame for all of us… I guess I’ll have to stick to my PS3 and F1 2014 until you guys get your act together and fix this mess…

  • This is absolutely ridiculous that you are not supporting any Logitech steering wheels in driveclub. There is a reason why many of us bought Logitech is because they are far better quality than thrustmaster. Shame you could have had a killer game but just decided to throw all racing fans with steering wheels of a cliff.

  • David: Hello, My name is David how may I assist you today?
You: I purchased Driveclub, and the game doesn’t support my hardware (logitech g27). I would like a refund please.
David: Hi. I will be more than glad to help you with that.
    You: thank you.
David: I do apologize, unfortunately we cannot submit a refund for that case, the problem is with the 3rd party device that is not from playstation, the gme works the problem as you mentioned before is the hardware in this case logitech g27
You: That isn’t acceptable. I bought a PS4 over xbox so I could use this wheel. I will not buy a sony steering wheel. I will not play DriveClub.
David: I do apologize buit as I mentioned before thats not a valid reason we cannot submit a refund for that.
    You: Then another request.
David: Is there anything else I can assist you with today?
You: Please cancel my PSN Plus subscription.
David: Ok, I will cancel the auto renewal option of the Ps+
    You: That’s all.

  • I really cant believe you cant use the g27 steering wheel paid a lot off money for it

plus am not buying the ps4 steering wheel it looks crap

  • we really need Logitech support for the gt steering wheel

  • So Fanatec and Logitech PS3 wheels don’t work, But Thrustmasters PS3 wheel does, it also doesn’t have the security chip. I initially purchased the PS4 because I was assured by Sony press releases that there would be no DRM, (seemingly not true) and usb devices like driving wheels would be supported (only partially true). I also find it quite interesting that both $ony and Micro $oft are both “working closely” with Thrustmaster. I hope you aren’t colluding with Microsoft and Thrustmaster to force consumers to buy new driving peripherals. But it seems that way to me. You have badly misjudged the situation at $ony, if you have an existing customer base with expensive equipment for racing games and you introduce a new gaming console(P$4) promising that equipment will work. You then introduce a mediocre, partially broken on release racing game(Drive Club), and then expect that same consumer to go buy an inferior, over priced, brand new race wheel, to play a mediocre race game. Your sadly mistaken!

  • I have four sons. I cannot get them to touch the PS4 over other gaming options in the house (PS3, tablets, PC) This move does not help me sell this to them. Also, Racing games are great, but few next gen racing games support local split-screen multiplayer. I am wishing I bought a WiiU. Mario Kart is looking more appealing by the second.

Sony please work with logitech to add the recent wheels they developed for your PS3 system to the PS4. This move only alienates your loyal fanbase. Please reciprocate that loyality by doing what is right.
