The Drop

Bright lights, big city. It’s time to head back to Los Santos and drown in a life of luxury and crime. Grand Theft Auto V hits PS4 this week, ushering Rockstar’s colossal open world into a new generation of gaming.

In Grand Theft Auto V, players follow the intersecting lives of three criminals struggling to survive in a city soaked with fame, fortune, and violence. Jump between them and explore one of the most intricately detailed open worlds ever created. Amass a fortune, silence the competition, drive exotic cars… or just play some golf. GTA V welcomes it all, and invites Grand Theft Auto Online players to carry over their progress from PS3 or Xbox 360 to PS4.

But that’s just the start of the spectacular lineup this week. LittleBigPlanet 3 hits PS4 and PS3 and introduces a cadre of new friends for Sackboy. Far Cry 4 opens the gates to a Himalayan open world oppressed by the rule of a psychopathic tyrant. And Dragon Age: Inquisition tells the sweeping story of a hero cursed by dangerous magic.

  • lots of games this week!

  • Hyped for Tuesday, picking up Hatsune Miku for both PS3 and Vita.

  • WWE and Dragon Age for me!

  • Please do a ps classic games sale:
    Coolboaders and blood omen

And please add these games to the ps classic section:
    – THPS games and underground 1 & 2
    – Matt Hoffman 1 & 2
    – Kelly Slater´s pro surfer
    – Test Drive games
    – Gran Turismo games

  • TBH I don’t know why I check these for Planetside 2 anymore, i guess our Q2 2014 game will never come. :(

  • =o
Wow, a good list of titles coming out this week.

Other than that, also picking up Project Diva F 2nd, even the image that represents it makes it a bit hilarious, lol. X3

  • On another note, I started to preload GTA but it didn’t download the whole thing. Do I have to start GTA and then wait 3-4 hours to actually play? I was planning on playing before work but I won’t have time now.

  • 57. I think you should maybe Re-DL it if it doesn’t DL fully, though you can’t actually really play it until 9PMPST/12AM EST. That’s how the Day 1 Digital titles work I guess.

  • If It wasn’t for having to buy Christmas presents I would be getting Hatsune Miku Project Diva 2nd the first day it came out.

  • Ugh, too many games!!! Between GTAV, LBP3, Dragon Age, and Persona Q coming later in the month for my 3ds, I’ll be booked solid for the next couple of months at least.

  • So from this it looks like Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom is coming to Vita retail along with the planned digital. Is this actually true (I’m much more interested in buying games in retail version)?

  • Theirs three games I want from this list.and its just on this list alone! Next year would be the day of video games thanks to all those delays lol.

  • Any news on that Freedom wars vita theme? I saw the Uncharted one came out last i checked but no freedom wars one yet.

  • Omgz Nov. 18 is gonna be special for me because I can’t hardly wait to pick up my preorder of Project Diva f 2nd game for Vita! My wallet is ready and I’m gonna master this amazing awesome game! I’m hoping to get the PS3 version during the Black Friday sale if it isn’t gone yet.

  • Gamestop says there will be a physical version for Rabbids Invasion on their website, is that true?

  • I’m really interested in Little Big Planet 3, but still haven’t been able to find out if PS3 and PS4 players can co-op together. Can anyone confirm?

  • Well, I preordered WWE 2k15 for my son’s birthday, and Dragon Age is a must buy. I will probably pick up Far Cry 4 when the price drops a little later. The one that intrigues me is Rollers of the Realm. If the price is right, I’ll pick that up this week, as well. So many cool games this week!

  • So glad I started Gamefly, most of these titles are listed to rent, since PSN is a horrible service.

Going to try Freedom Wars though, already, since it must not have been as good as the Hype.

Will still be watching for sales to get use out of my useless PS Plus membership.

    If not , oh well.

  • A Sony game, LBP3 is releasing this week, and there is Dragon Age, Fry Cry, and a few other top nothc games this week.

Strange you should pick a port of a PS3 game from last year to highlight with the drop for this week. Weird.

  • Don’t know about everyone else but I guess I’m the only going with the absolutely amazing “LittleKIDSGame”. Swriously, I’ve wanted LittleBigPlanet 3 on PS4 since they announced it so, LBP 3 for PS4 on Tuesday, and then Super Smash Bros Wii U on Friday for the Wii U. Good week in gaming overall. I think it was a bad move to launch GTA V and LBP 3 on the same day though Sony. LBP is gonna end up buried so hopefully your royalties for GTA V are gonna pay off.

  • Got lbp 3 For ps4 preordered at gamestop cant wait to play with my sons im sure my youngest is gonna love the plush! I already own gta5 on ps3 Might pick up ps4 version eventually, definitely getting dragon age and far cry 4 during holidayslo. the ps4 is great glad theres finally **** coming out to play on it!!

  • so many games coming out this week and yet so lil money DX

  • Big Week

  • I’ll be getting DA on Tuesday. But I’m sure I’ll get LBP and FC4 soon. I’ve been really interested in Rollers of the Realm. Looking forward to trying that out. Glad there’s a demo for it!

  • Surprised to see Castlevania: SotN, Legacy of Kain, Metal Gear Solid and Crash not working as PS1 Classics for the Vita. Will this ever be fixed?

  • God, I need Inquisition!! Used to play DA a lot in 360, when I had it. Wish I had the whole trilogy in PS3 now, and wish there were DA discounts this Tuesday!!

  • I can’t wait to play Dragon Age Inquisition, GTAV, and Far Cary 4! My most anticipated games for this year. I have a bad feeling my love life is gonna take some hits too lol

  • I must have misread – SotN works with Vita..

  • Most epic launch day of the year. Too bad I’m broke.

  • What about LittleBigPlanet 3? It also release this week.

  • Sorry I just saw it

  • Well, I’m already a starving college student, so I guess it won’t be too bad to starve for another week. Too many games!

  • LBP3! Can’t wait to collect my prize bubbles! If anyone needs a LBP3 partner for PS4 hit me up! I will also be buying the indie game Never Alone, can’t wait. Dragon Age will be happening just as soon as I have had my fill of some sack boy joy! I also feel as though I must try that monopoly game I actually enjoyed playing Uno online lol

Good games and let the Good times begin!

  • Any chance of the LBP3 demo that’s been in Retailers being made available? I won’t be able to properly enjoy the game for a while, so I wouldn’t mind replaying those two great levels to tide me over.

  • Mikuuuuuuuuuuuuuu I cannot wait!!! Project Diva 2 is really the only game I’m excited about this week. Got both the PS3 version and Vita one on preorder! :) Might pick up LBP3 if the reviews are favorable.

  • This says that Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom will have a retail version but I read on psnstores.com(not sure of the credibility) that it was coming exclusively on the PS Store. I checked gameStop’s website and there’s no listing for a physical vita or PS3 version. Is it possible that you can clear this up?

  • Left my PS4 on Rest mode for GTAV preload. Hope it’s started as well.

  • Far cry 4 can’t wait

  • Defense Grid 2 — PS4 Trial
    Far Cry 4 — PS4 Trial, PS3 Demo
The Jackbox Party Pack — PS4 Trial, PS3 Trial
    Rabbid Invasion — PS4 Trial
Rollers of the Realm — PS4 Trial, PS Vita Trial

    wow thanks :)

  • Can’t wait for GTA5!!!!!!

  • Here’s hoping that Rabbids game can detect children, unlike Just Dance 2014 and Just Dance 2015. And, what’s with the lag Ubisoft? And, no I’m not turning off internet capabilities of the PS4 just so Just Dance 2015 doesn’t skip/freeze/lag.

    GTA V! Glad I waited a year…

  • How about some ps1 CLASSICS.

    suikoden 2
    Saga frontier
    Jade cocoon
    Vandal hearts 1 And 2
Mega man legends 1 and 2
    Einhander
    Diablo
    Die hard trilogy

  • #Suikoden2onPSStore

  • LBP3 on PS4! XD

  • Too bad LBP 3 is not on TOP of the List ;\ and from looks its not even pushed as a TOP PlayStation Exclusive.
Such an underrated series. I guess LBP 3 will sell less copies than previous titles ;( Too bad though.

  • Wow, that’s a lot of gaming in one week! Either go to work with zero hours of sleep or call out sick!

  • I’ve never played LittleBigPlanet, but will LittleBigPlanet 3 be cross-buy across PS3 and PS4? That would be great so I could buy it on PS3 now and it would carry over with upgraded visuals for whenever I might get a PS4. Otherwise I guess I’ll start with LBP2 or LBP PS Vita.

And I think LittleBigPlanet 3 should have been the highlight this week. It’s a SCE game and this is a SCE PS Blog and GTA V already has plenty of coverage and not to mention it’s a re-release.

  • Lots of great games here, but perhaps equally noteworthy is the number of new demos this week!

GTA V: Lots of people are uninterested in paying full price on PS4 after doing so on PS3. Well, Target has a deal this week for you. Trade in GTA V on PS3 and get $30 off the PS4 version. Pretty much what people are asking for around here. Yeah, it’s not digital. But maybe some people will be happy with deals like that. (All companies involved will make money regardless of which version you buy.)

  • I cannot wait for You Don’t Know Jack again! I loved that game since the good ol’ PC days! Is this a cross-buy for my PS3 and PS4? Otherwise its going to be a tough call….or I’ll just have to buy it twice :)

  • I have had to prioritize, in order, just to deal with the mass amount of fun coming out this week that I can’t do all at once. Being a huge Far Cry fan, that’s the one I am getting tomorrow first. I played hours and hours of GTA 5 on PS3, non-regrettably, and I think I am most excited about the first-person perspective being added in.. I mean, that’s just awesome, and for me was totally unexpected . That’s game two, after I beat Farcry 4. Does anyone know if there will be an upgrade for Farcry 4 for buying it on PS3, like there was for Destiny? Game 3 from this week may be Dragon Age: Inquisition, if it’s really as awesome as it looks.
