PS Plus: Preview December’s Free Game Lineup

The weather is getting colder, which means two things: 1) It’s time for delicious food and 2) it’s time to hibernate with videogames. We’re here to help keep you gaming this winter with December’s free PlayStation Plus titles.

You can keep warm but stay social with Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition, a fighting game that lets you finally figure out which DC heroes & villains would win in a fight, and Secret Ponchos, a wild west arcade-style duel where you’ll face off against friends or team up to take down other players.

Catch up on the Hitman series with Hitman HD Trilogy, which includes Hitman 2: Silent Assassins, Contracts and Blood Money, and experience the bizarre yet beloved Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut.

PS Vita owners get two Space Invaders-inspired games this month: Final Horizon and Titan Attacks. Fight off waves of space robots (they have spider tanks, gross) in tower defense title Final Horizon, or grab Titan Attacks!, which focuses on arcade-style gameplay but features some interesting elements that kick gameplay up a notch.

All of these games will be free for Plus members starting December 2nd. If you want to see these titles in action, check out the video below.

  • When is it going to come out some one please answer my question

  • my only issue is i already have injustice which i only paid $5 for and i have no urge to play secret ponchos, makes me sad that i traded my ps3 for the ps4 since i loved deadly premonition and i didnt know about a directors cut on ps3 and hitman was posibly the best series ever. im not asking for much but how about if you’re going to give out a retail game how about infamous second son or killzone shadowfall.

  • The write-up way at the top clearly states Injustice and Poncho drop would release TODAY December 2. Kristine Steimer , are you there? That’s your write up. Is it accurate per the December 2nd mention?

  • Got up this morning to download the new games on the PS4….but no games. O.o

  • Same here. Wanted to get an early start and leave the system in stand by but found that there was no update and there was no injustice. Looks like it might be a delay til later this evening. Sucks…..

  • This is a Injustice for the free games not being in the store yet….

  • A good line up. Nothing for me really. But at least the ps4 showing hope. Gonna upgrade my version of injustice from ps3 to the ps4 version. Not that i plan to go back and play really. But just in case. Im starting to spend money again though. Picked up the flash diablo 3 and far cry 4 for ps4. Loving far cry’s co-op. Have fun gamers! Cant wait for bloodborne…loved the alpha test…was awesome!

  • Meh I’ll renew my subscription next year

  • Just logged into the playstation store on my ps4 and Injustice is not available, just the games from last month. In the article above, it says injustice will be available Dec 2nd, which is today. What gives?

  • For all of you saying it is Dec. 2nd where is the game the day is not over once the store update’s it will available to DL same as it has always been

  • ^ – Yeah, but a lot of new people show up every week. They just got their systems, etc. Maybe they don’t know yet.

For the life of me, I’ll never understand why Sony staff aren’t more clear in these posts. Same thing happens every week due to the lack of clarity.

Anyway, the store always updates on Tuesdays. Generally it’s done by 2pm Pacific/5pm Eastern, at which point they make the Store Update post on this blog. So while it may show up sometime before that time, it’s not guaranteed and you might as well wait till the store is fully updated.

(The main issue is that the store is updated in sections rather than all at once, causing some confusion but allowing it to remain open throughout the updating process.)

  • It’s not out yet >.< why???

  • Thank you ThumbsOfSteel74 for your helpful post unlike some. This has really cleared up and gave a round about time when to look for the plus games now on each month. I myself thought maybe it updated 12am/3am est of the date. Didn’t realize it was more later on in the day, since I’m on the est zone. So thank you again.

  • Very poor for the Vita. :/

  • any idea on when the games will ACTUALLY be available for download – kinda wanted to get started…

  • The PS+ titles for Dec. 2014 are up and ready on the US PS Store.

  • PS+ titles ready for download.

  • what happened to DC Injustice?!

  • had to click on right banner to see it as a free game – WTF is up with PS Store??

  • WHEN ARE THE GAMES ON THE EU STORE? It’s 2 dez. 11:28 PM here and there are still no new games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I waited for this all day long, for gods sake!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is there a way to upload my ps vita profile of Injustice to the ps4 version?

  • k3ifMo5berg, only way for that to work is if the game itself is cross-play or cross-save (forgot which it needs to be). If it isn’t, then you can’t use the save from a different system, even if it is the same game.

  • Where are the games? its 3rd already…

  • Saibot_The_Noob, I got the games perfectly fine on the store through the computer internet. I do got a question about the games though.

On the PlayStation Store, it says that Final Horizon is for PS Vita and there is no PS3 version of the game available for free. Yet in my download list, it says ‘Playable On: [PS3] [PS Vita]’. Yet when I go to the Final Horizon page, it only says it is Playable On PS Vita. Why does download list has PS3 as playable yet two other places only have PS Vita?

  • Even on computer store it shows old games..

  • Not sure what is wrong with your store. I bought the new games perfectly fine. Maybe it doesn’t like you.

  • This is AWESOME! Can’t wait to start downloading all of them :D

Btw.. I don’t know how to contact Sony directly so i think I do it trough here.. Could you please make an update for PS4 which allow us to record gameplay max 1 hour or so and then the option to spilt it in 15 min videos? Because I think 15 min is too short and you need to press the record button every time… Would be very happy if you could do that! :D

  • says trilogy but all i got is contracts is this a problem for anyone else

  • @Il_WidowmakeR_Il: No problem. Glad I could help.

FYI, for those asking about the free (or “free”) games in EU:

While the EU has been getting the exact same games as NA regions for several months now, they do have their own separate store with a separate PS Blog to match. (There’s a link at the top of this page.) The store updates sometime on Wednesday in the EU, which of course is different from the Tuesday updates in NA.

Sorry, but I’m not sure about the time of day for the EU store update. I’m in NA and I don’t have a EU account, so it doesn’t really affect me.

In any case, the store has to update for any new changes (IGC, discounts, new content) to be made. (Well, except for flash sales.) So always wait for the store to update in your region to see new stuff.

  • I rarely buy fighting games, but I’m excited to try out Injustice. Also, I’ve always wanted to try one of the Hitman games. Since Assassin’s Creed Unity is still so buggy, Hitman should satisfy my need for stealthy takedowns for awhile. I’d never heard of Deadly Premonition, seems like it’ll be fun too. Looks like I’ll be busy until I unwrap my christmas presents. Thanks PS!

  • Anyone else having issues getting Deadly Premonition? Its rated at 12GB which seems high for a game with mediocre graphics, but keeps saying I don’t have enough space (269GB avail). Thoughts? Glitch?

  • Very nice line up for this month and about time they give us good games to play unlike the past few months line up.

  • i am glad to know that infamous first light is coming on ps plus in january as i was planning to buy it.

  • i feel as though the free games for ps4 aren’t all that great
