Happy Holidays from Bandai Namco

It’s that holly jolly season to spend time with your loved ones, dust off your Christmas tree lights, and reflect on all the great moments you’ve had in the past year — especially your greatest gaming moments!

Here in our Bandai Namco Games America office, we’ve experienced some great highs this year, like finally beating a boss in Dark Souls II with co-workers cheering us on, as well as some face palming lows, like accidentally rolling off a cliff in Dark Souls II… with co-workers watching.

Nonetheless, 2014 has been a great year.

Tales of Symphonia Chronicles

Since the beginning we have prided ourselves on bringing well-loved anime franchises to video games in the West, and 2014 was no exception. Kicking off the year, we launched Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z and One Piece: Romance Dawn and kept the anime train rolling throughout the year with Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution and Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn for our anime fans.

Speaking of fans, something needs to be said about our “Tales of” fans. The immense support and devotion we receive from our “Tales of” fans has spurred and motivated the Bandai Namco team to localize more and more Tales of games and prove that classic JRPGs are as strong as ever! Just in 2014, we were able to bring over Tales of Symphonia Chronicles, Tales of Xillia 2, and Tales of Hearts R and the reception for each one was fabulous!

Dark Souls II

However, the biggest highlight from 2014 that all of us at Bandai Namco Games America would agree on would be the much anticipated and celebrated launch of Dark Souls II. The Bandai Namco elves worked long hours and late into the nights, even during the 2013 holiday season, and boy did all that hard work pay off! With over 400 million in-game deaths worldwide from the game’s launch until now, we believe it’s safe to say that Dark Souls II is the most challenging and punishing, yet gloriously rewarding, action RPG experience that has come out of the Bandai Namco Games lineup to date.

With 2015 creeping up fast, we fully intend to keep the 2014 momentum going and hope everybody is looking forward to another fantastic year of epic battles, nail-biting victories, and pwning noobs! But for now, have a wonderful holiday season and happy New Year!

  • Looking forward to next year, Tales of Zestiria.

  • I wasn’t gonna buy Tales of Hearts R because of the no dub thing at first, but then I heard you can just turn the Japanese voices off, so I caved and gave it a chance. It was quite the surprise. We definitely need more traditional rpg’s like that because they’re getting kinda scarce lately. (As long as they have English dub)

  • Please, please bring Digimon Cyber Sleuth to US, i can’t wait to play this game on my Vita!

  • ToZ CE should come with a figure of Alisha, Edna, Dezel or Zavied and no more digital only fails, physical or don’t bother. Christmas wish so you can’t ignore it….CAN’T ×_×’. Merry Christmas, Grace.

  • Physical releases for; Tales of Innocence R, Digimon and God Eater 2 Burst for Vita would be amazing! (Don’t forget EU!) Thanks for the great support this year, I bought SAO and ToH:R and gonna keep supporting.

  • Happy Holidays and Praise the Sun, Bandai Namco. I bought a bunch of your games this year, including a CE (ToX2) from your store. However, I can’t stop playing Dark Souls 2. As you know, the hours stop accumulating at 999.59, but I hit that months ago. It must be at least 1500 hours by now. Anybody needing help, pick up my summons sign!

More Tales (I buy them all), more Souls (ditto) and you have a happy customer! Oh, and please, Ni No Kuni 2? I miss Oliver and most of all, Mr. Drippy!!!

  • Thanks for all the great games! Love the Tales Of series and many others from you all. Naruto Revolution wasn’t as good as Storm 3 but I’m glad we got it. Happy Holidays.

  • Happy Holidays to YOU Namco-Bandai! Thanks for the gifts of consistent localization, lol. After watching SEGA and others… not do that, you guys are really knocking it out of the park! I’m so happy that you guys are doing localization right! I picked up Xillia 2 and Ni No Kuni (twice – once during the Flash Sale, then got the physical version because I NEEDED to take that load off of my Hard Drive) this year, and I can’t wait to pick up J-Stars Victory VS., Dragonball XV and Tales of Zestiria next year (which I already have pre-ordered!). Again, thanks guys & gals! Keep up the great work and be sure to send some love to Mr. Baba, Mr. Harada and everyone else in Japan from us Western gamers too!

  • Happy Holidays Bandai Namco!

So, I read somewhere that you’re considering The iDOLM@STER on the west… I must tell you 3 things:
    -Please make it happen
-I will cry of joy if it’s true
-(Do not take this as sarcasm or anything) You should announce it with a lot of anticipation, so everyone can start saving money for the hugeloads of DLC. I would spend all of my money on the Limited Edition of the game and most of the important DLC if you make it happen. I would even forget about anything else in the year! So please, let it be real, Idolmaster OFA on the West!

  • Cant wait to see more of you guys in 2015.

  • Hi Playstation & Bandai Namco , we hope this :
