As you probably know, PlayStation Network and some other gaming services were attacked over the holidays with artificially high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. This may have prevented your access to the network and its services over the last few days.

The video game industry has been experiencing high levels of traffic designed to disrupt connectivity and online gameplay. Multiple networks, including PSN, have been affected over the last 48 hours. PSN engineers are working hard to restore full network access and online gameplay as quickly as possible.
From time to time there may be disruptions in service due to surges in traffic, but our engineers will be working to restore service as quickly as possible.
If you received a PlayStation console over the holidays and have been unable to log onto the network, know that this problem is temporary and is not caused by your game console. We’ll continue to keep you posted on Twitter at @AskPlayStation and we’ll update this post once the problems subside.

Anyword yet? I was on this morning for a bit then you took it down. I also would like to know what your corporation intends to do about compensation for time lost on your Pay to Play Service here. Playstation Plus was not Free as a Person that also works in the Internet Industry for a Major ISP I understand that outages and things can occur from time to time. However the lack of communication and the canned responses are unacceptable and when your competition is already online it has me wondering if I went the correct console. Prove me wrong. Have this up and running in the morning Please.
i have been watching the psn updates all day and i see that it is back online but i been trying everything i could to get on psn and have been having no luck. at times i can see friends online but try to join myself is fail. also, i seen u got ps3 and psvita up first, just wondering why that is since its the ps4 system that has to pay?
I can not get mad at sony fodr being attacked. I can be disappointed, again, that they take forever to comment on it.

Does sony really care about their gamers? We fork out all this money for games and season passes and pay $50.00 a year for a network that is riddled with problems. I mean should you not take care of the people that take care of you? The network being down for three days is a joke! The best thing for fellow gamers to do is contact the BBB and file a complaint.

I was happy with my Xbox in fact i still have it, but i had to buy the PS4 over a friend recomendation and i regreat that decision soooooo much. First adding funds to buy stuff is a pain, you people make “updates” and fail to advice your users, my game disks from time to time decide by themselves they dont want to be inside the console anymore…..but thats ok cause you people made a video on how to solve a problem that shouldn’t exist on the first place and nooooooow….you take more than 3 days to solve something Microsoft already solved! Plus your BS excuses on the overload of gamers…well DUH…isn’t that the point of your business? People using your console and network! Im so sorry i bought your console and that i bought a membership for a year for a service that doesn’t respect me as a user and is not even close to the benefits i get on my xbox gold membership. But its ok cause when you are back you will redeem yourself with your paying customers right?………NOT! You guys need to get your cheese together and start learning from your competition. What good serves you to be #1 in sales and #1 in crappy awful bad service!!!!

All of my friends are online, and I still can’t connect. I’m very Unhappy with this. This is ridiculous.
Will my ps3 logs in to the network just fine but still can’t log in it with the ps4 and I use the same log in on both the error code for the ps4 is (MW-31194-8)

I how some how we get compensation for the plus members! It’s been 3 days and I cant log on. I understand this is a big deal but ive spent a lot of money on consoles and now the plus member ship which I swore I’d never do. Good luck and hope it haooens very soon. Thanks for listening, gah666

My son and I both thank you as we are able to enjoy our present finally. I know that it wasn’t easy dealing with the disappointment of not being able to access our content for almost 3 days but the wait is finally over and we can resume our gaming now and hopefully for 100% of gamers by tomorrow. Thank you again!

ive just now been able to log on to the playstation website but i still cant sign in to psn on my ps4. i hope the psn service is restored fairly soon, but if i have to wait, i will still be enjoying GTA V singleplayer on my ps4. i wish the best of luck to you Sony. damn has it been rough for you guys lately. first north korea now this. i cant even imagine your frustration, let alone the loyal ps fans, such as myself.
It’s kinda funny that everyone thinks Sony is going to compensate us for the inconvenience. They have proved in the past they won’t. Last time it was done with credit cards being risked, we get nothing. Drive club which we were supposed to get months ago, we get nothing.
Xbox is up and PSN is down which is sad, but the reason I think is because MS did not push a update to the systems they just fixed the problem so customers are happy. I would assume PSN is fixed by now, they are just not bringing it up so they can work on a system update.
Sony also probably also does not take getting this fixed as quickly since there are far less paid subscriptions than MS has, cause let’s face it how many people that just own PS3 or vita only that don’t have a ps4 have a ps plus account? But the funny part about this is I can go online on my PS3 and vita, yet my ps4 won’t log onto PSN….

Just curious as to when the PSN on the PS4 is coming back up. I’ve been trying to keep up, but the lack of updates has been quite frustrating.
Yup it’s sad… I have ps4 and Xbox one… Prefer ps4 as my main system and have most of my games on it and only play the MS exclusives on the other. With all the problems lately guess I picked wrong lol.
I dont or didn’t expect then to just said it would be cool if they did compensate is all. I will always stay with psn it would just be cool if they returned the loyalty. Good luck to everyone

i am a playstation fan in heart, it was my first console and my only console. i know the attacks didnt come by psn its self, but really its still down? i guess no xur for me this weekend thank u lizard squad u did the people a great service in your laughs and really you get caught so you dont get to play on any gaming console for a very long f-wording time.

I just recently gotten a PS4 and now PSN is back online and I’m still unable to login it seem to me the people who PSN are saved on their PS4 can login but the people who gotten their PS4 christmas day and was not able to connect their PSN are still having connection problems why is that?
im back up playing my game for a hour now.. good looking PlayStation. .
How long before psn for ps4 is back up, i got mines for christmas and can only do stuff on my ps3. That’s kinda lame lol.

Just saying Sony, the true purpose of you guys making mandatory payments online for the PS4 was for better server service. That was the main goal. So here you have millions of us paying somewhere from $10 a month for this service, but yet here we are still with the same service of pre-PS4. No speaking down on you guys engineers, but they aren’t just enough. Start looking more 3rd party like IBM for f-sake. i bet when it boils down to the spread, that would only boost the price of service by about $5 to make a comparable profit to the service we are paying for now. I guarantee you, nobody would object to better service.

Currently it is December 27th and 11:50pm and anonymous is saying the psn servers are 70% up but I still can’t sign in I live in ohio in the us and my friend lives in Florida but it’s letting him on and not me what the heck sony fix this soon I got my ps4 on Christmas and I don’t my vouchers that came with it to expire plus I really have been waiting to play because apparently “Greatness Awaits”
So i got my PS4 on the 26th. When can I log on? everyone else I know is able to log on now. But this update basically states people who bought it recently are unable to log on for a while.

Puerto Rico, haven’t been able to sign in since the 24th, had 3 different error messages, CE-33987-0, NW-31194-8, and connection error from Destiny.
