It’s almost time to ring in another New Year, so let’s take a peek at what Plus members can play to kick off 2015.
PlayStation 4 owners can leave their pink neon mark on the city of Seattle in inFAMOUS: First Light, a standalone expansion to inFamous: Second Son that outlines the backstory of the troubled conduit, Fetch. Additionally, there’s The Swapper, where you’ll use a cloning gun to solve puzzles in hopes of getting yourself off a creepy space station. On PS3, you can unleash a lot of chaos in an open-world via Prototype 2 or take a trip down memory lane with the revamped classic platformer DuckTales Remastered. Finally, Vita owners can nab Duke Nukem 3D Megaton Edition so they can enjoy some first-person shooting on the go, as well as test their arcade game skills with the single-screen platformer Whoa Dave!

This plays like an 8 – 9 rated game for my tastes, and Is nowhere dignified by the 7ish metacritic.
You botched the launch though and the ps+version broken promise / lack of communication was really hard to swallow, i’m glad I gave the game a chance, you get a decent amount of dlc free right now, and I will wait for a half off or better on all the rest of the season pass although if this was handled properly I might have bought the season pass for this game (a rarity for me these days)
That being said I might just buy the elements track pack as I want to try the events with the weather effects for $2 that is not so bad, although I feel like it should have been included with the weather update.
Very impressive game in the happy middle ground between Arcade and Sim I think, and the scenery is incredible. Give it a try if you like racers, I streamed it a few times to see people playing but it is not even close to playing yourself.

I do want to say though that if the Swapper is not available for Vita as well as PS4 that your Vita offering for January is horrendous, the swapper is make or break.
Honestly I feel bad for the people that have a $50 plus membership only for vita. These days it is iffy even with me owning all 3 platforms for my tastes. In all honesty I am phasing out my ps3 and if the vita continues in this vein I am going to have to consider selling it.
Now when I use my ps3 I find the DS3 feels so cheap in comparison to DS4, it is off putting. I will continue with it for the sake of lords of shadow 2 but I don’t have much left on ps3 now to finish, or look forward to.
You could save us some aggravation by just being upfront about the cross platform games that are part of plus or not, sometimes they are and sometimes they are not.
I won’t even bother downloading those 2 vita games, embarrassing.
My apologies, it’s in brackets PS4/3/vita for swapper. I watched the video and it just says ps4, I also read the main paragraph and it just says ps4.
So since I can’t edit my post, or see how many characters I have typed, or post “too quickly’ you will just have to ignore my “if the swapper is not available for Vita…” complaints.
You should be more clear about it, but I suppose the vast majority just look at the store update during the month.
I hope this is a good plus year, at least this month is decent with a variety of game types that is nice to see even if I don’t like the individual game.

So if the PS4 version of Whoa Dave is to be released at a later date, will it be free as well or be full price?

Can you guys make a way to change your name, and i understand its not there because of people who grief, but just make it so you have to pay about 10 to 20 dollars to change it, no one wants to spend money to change there name, but if the answers still no can you tell me? I would rather have you say no then no get a reply at all, (you can see why i would like to be able to change my name)
for some reason most of you are happy to get these games that Sony are putting out but have a look what xbox are giving on games of gold or whatever its called. anyway i my point is that Sony need to up there game cause this is not how I remember the free games i was getting on ps3 like far cry 3 and metal gear rising revengance games that are a lot of fun and people enjoy.

Shoot yeah this Duke Nukem and I am absolutely overjoyed about this announcement. I can’t wait I have been playing that since I was in elementary. One of my favorite all-time franchises….

Duke for Vita?!?! I’ll have to “Come Get Some”!
Weird question, but for those of us who pre-ordered First Light when it was announced, will we get anything special? Sort of like how when TF2 went free to play on Steam, the people who had bought it got something… I don’t remember what it was though.
It’s been a while since I last lay a comment here, I think that this line-up is worth of it. Good line-up! I think that there’s something for everyone. I don’t own a PS4 yet, but I’m very glad of how my backlog is growing up, and how many games I’m going to have waiting for me to play. I’m impressed with the PS3 games, I didn’t see Prototype 2 coming. I haven’t played neither of them, so I will give it a change. I’m delighted with Ducktales Remastered, after beating Castle of Illusion I was looking forward to play this one.

I would rather have stable and reliable online connection instead of all these free games. Please if you guys have money to bring free games to plus subscribers, use the money for secure and powerful servers
@skeetlejuice – considering the vita owners recently received dragons crown, velocity 2x(day 1), pixeljunk ultimate, luftrausers, escape plan, duke nuke, swapper, etc you seem like an entitled schmuck. As an owner of all three platforms the vita has been getting the best games and more often than not it’s 3-5 games a month bc of cross buy. Go cry in the corner and play candy crush if having ps plus is such a commitment.
The only game I’m really interested in playing would be inFamous First Light but I have decided to wait on buying a PS4. I’d rather work on my backlog than play the PS3 or Vita games. I’m not saying they are bad just not for me. Which brings me to questioning if PS+ is something I really use as a PS3 and Vita owner. The PS4 has cut into the quantity and quality of games and the + sale prices (if there even is one) have been nothing to write home about. I used to be so excited every Tuesday when the store updated but there has been more disappointment than anything over the last six months.
Not much here. Where are all these positive comments coming from. An add on for Ps4? I don’t get it.

Fantastic month,what a way to start the year hu…1st Light what an awesome game to give away hu I actually can’t believe Sony is giving it for free seeing that it launched in august.
Been eager to play The Swapper since it launched.
Ducktales is another I’ve been wanting to play but was waiting for a good discount…haha awesome.
Unfortunately my brother bought Prototype 2 some months ago when it was discounted in the Store…game’s okay.
Also looking forward to try Whoa Dave! since its from the folks behind Bit.trip.

Awesome, love infamous just didn’t play the DLC, and Ducktales is sweet. IF I ever get a vita I’d love good ol’ duke NUKE-ummmmmm :P Why don’t I have a vita? I want to see more of the PS1 games working on it.. no reason one of the BEST PS1 games doesn’t work on it – Crash Bandicoot. Anyway, good month of PS PLUS, thanks! PS PLUS pays for itself so easily, friggen love it.

Duke 3D with some enhancements and trophies, and I can play it right on my Vita? Oh yeah, you guys done good this time. I’ve always been interested in The Swapper and boom, there it is, seems like a perfect Vita game too. And First Light for that future PS4 purchase, superb! Good job this time out guys. Just fire everyone responsible for your sales and start anew, k? K. Seriously, the sales have been abysmal for months.

Have Infamous First light already. Not had the chance to play it yet. Wish I’d waited lol. Can’t wait to download Ducktales and Prototype 2 onto my 1TB Playstation 3. Even though I don’t have a Vita atm may add Duke Nukem to my Library. May want to play that later this summer when I get caught up on my backlog.
