It’s a special week in the world of PlayStation, as the legendary adventure game Grim Fandango returns to the spotlight in a gorgeous, remastered edition for PS4 and Vita. Welcome back, Manny!
In Grim Fandango Remastered, players are (re)introduced to Manny Calavera, a travel agent working at the Department of Death. Manny sells travel accommodations to souls on their way to eternal rest, until he gets tugged into a conspiracy that’s a little more high stakes than just “life or death.” Grim Fandango has been meticulously enhanced with a new lighting system, higher resolution assets, and even remastered audio to sweeten an already spectacular score. For old fans and newcomers alike, Grim Fandango is required playing in this curriculum we call video games.
Speaking of the dead — or the undead, in this case — Dying Light arrives on PS4 with an open-world apocalypse. Traverse massive environments littered with infected in order to survive. Gather items, craft weapons, and outrun all the hungry zombies that have unanimously elected you as their next meal.

@45 Not a lot of people are fans of obscure Japanese games like the Hyperdimension series. Also, if you didn’t already know, publications don’t talk about the series because the people who buy it don’t buy it for the gameplay, they just buy it for the little girls. Besides, each game in the series gets lackluster reviews. What’s the point of talking about a game that isn’t good? You may think it’s a great series, but other people don’t, hence why they don’t want to talk about it.
Pretty solid drop this week. What is Nihilumbra and where did it come from? Shocked there’s anything coming for the Vita that I wasn’t aware of.

@51 Not everyone that plays Hyperdimension Neptunia is playing because of little girls. I only played the first one, but mainly because it was one a turn based RPG, two satire about the console wars that people keep having and three allowed you to use your own images for some spells. The fact that it was girls did not influence my decision to play it, however I also stopped after the first game because of the fact that all of the characters were little girls. Some people still enjoy the overall gameplay despite that. Granted I am sure there are plenty of people playing for that reason, but not everyone. Some people play Guilty Gear just for May as well or to look at the female characters that dress scantily.
Please don’t cave to the whiny guy. Leave the drop just as it is. Most of us realize that some of the prices of the games aren’t finalized yet, and we are patient enough to wait two days and/or take the 5 seconds to Google it ourselves instead of wasting 5 minutes posting an embarrassing whiny rant
@51 @54 To each his own, but my point is that I’m tired of seeing people hate on games they haven’t even played. @54 did what I wish other people would do. Playing a game and not liking it is totally different than hating a game without even playing it first, and he did the former. I like that.
Already played and finished nihilumbra on pc, I can say that the game is good, the dificulty is a little easy but new game+ is really hard (after the end you can continued the game with different puzzle/enemy placement) but I really like the story and the music (bought the ost).
Maybe I will buy it again on vita, hoping for a ps4 version thought :)

Looks like we aren’t getting Apotheon just yet, or even Teslagrad for that matter! And where is HyperLight Drifter at! Any inkling as to when we can get a release date on these. I was really looking forward to getting Teslagrad this week, and once again it is pushed back…..a game we should have gotten back in December!

The PS Plus preview is normally posted the Wednesday or Thursday before the games are released. So in a few days we’ll see February’s games.
Excited for Grim Fandango since I have never played it. Dying Light will most likely be a disappointment. Will wait for user feedback on that title.

@ryan i need help with my psn account . I already call customer support and i have been called a lier and treated badly. Ever since the ddos attack from dec my two account have seems to have merge together and no one believe me.I sign into my main one and its display my secondary id from my second account . The problem is isolated to the ps4 i can tell this because i still have my ps3 and vita and i have no problem with my accounts . Also it work perceftly fine on the ps blog. I dont have access to any content that i brought using this account since the ps4 doesn’t seems to see me log in as my primary account . I dont have access to any social feature such as freind lists,party chat etc.Please ryan help me i normally dont go on the PlayStation blog for this suit of thing and i been a loyal fan since the beginning ps1 era i own every ps platform release in the usa. Customer support dont wanna help \believe me and had already call me a lier please if thier anyway you can get me in contract with anyone that can help me any then customer support i would really be indepted to you. Too bad the count down timer for when I can play Grim Fandango is screwed up in which it is making me wait to play it for an extra day versus on the stated release date.
@88 I was just noticing that it is locked until 8pm pacific on 1/27 via the current timer. Hope that does not ruin my midnight gameplay session.
so…. problem with my grim fandango pre-order. first of all, at midnight it still said there was over 22 hours left before i could play the game when i highlighted the game in the system menu. second, if i selected the game, the time left to be able to play was blank, and it wouldn’t let me launch the game. third, i deleted the game from the menu thinking i could just re-download the game, right? nope. there’s only an option to “start” the game, and when i select it, it tells me the application cannot be found, and asks if i want to find it in the store.
i tried to go to my library in the system menu to download the game from there, but nope… takes me to the game’s location in the store, but (again) an option to “start” the game (even though it’s completely gone from my PS4).
so… am i going to have to wait until the store update to actually play this game, even though i pre-ordered it over a week ago, and should have had access to the game nearly two hours ago? or is everything screwed, and i won’t be able to play something i paid for at all?
and to top it all off, if i go to the store on the web, i can select an option to download to my PS4, but that freezes the store altogether, and I have to refresh my browser.
