Unboxing: The Order 1886 Collector’s Edition

Today I was lucky enough to get my paws on The Order: 1886 Collector’s Edition, which lands in select retailers alongside the game on February 20th in the US. Watch the unboxing video for a first look at what’s inside, and learn more here.

The Collector’s Edition contains The Order: 1886 set in a collectible steelbook case, a 7-inch “Gallahad Under Fire” statue from the folks at Takeoff, and a sticker pack. There’s a host of digital extras, too: a downloadable soundtrack, an exclusive making-of video, plus costumes and weapon variants. Head here for more info.

  • I hear the game is only 8 to 10 hours long is that true?

  • Only? How much more do you need for a linear story based game?

  • Awesome Video Sid! I have both the collectors and Premium Edition reserved. Got to have both statues. Will you be doing a unboxing of the Premium Edition?

  • lol this really is just watching someone open a box… why would anyone post that?

I was hoping for actual game footage/info, oh well.

  • @4 Uh that is why it is called an Unboxing…yea.. I thought that was common sense.

  • Sid! off topic but we need a discount on the senran kagura shinovi versus dlc so i can buy EVERYTHING.

  • Bit unfair how the UK got stuck with a smaller edition which we are paying more for. Plus it doesn’t even include the Steelbook, they’ve actually made the Steel it’s own edition.

No Statue, no Steel, no Artbook yet we are paying more.

Next time have a CE which is world wide. There is no reason why this couldn’t of came to the UK

    • CEs are decided on a regional basis…. I’m sometimes jealous of UK CEs but other times not. Bit of a crapshoot at times, I’d agree.

  • Looks awesome

  • @1 Story-driven games are supposed to be 8-10 hours. Anything longer than that and it would considerably dilute the content. I’m very happy with this.

  • Hey Sid, great video, thanx for sharing.

As a SteelBook collector it would be great if in future unboxing videos that include a SteelBook, you could show the back of the SteelBook as well as the Inside of the SteelBook, minus the Blu-ray and the documents. I am confident myself and the other SteelBook collectors would appreciate the early sneak peak.

  • From what I’ve heard about the game, I’m going to assume that the sequels will change the year, as in The Order XXXX. I think the story will be setup in a way that the sequels will explore different time periods.

  • The steelbook and statue look so great, really debating if I should pick up the Collectors edition.

  • What about an unboxing for the Premium Edition, which is sold out and I cannot get my hands on unfortunately.

  • I pre-order this editio, because in my country[mexico] onlye have this edition and the standart, but i feel a little sad, because the PREMIUM edition look so COOL, any way the game looks amazing, #WaitingModeON

  • + I_am_rushin the last of us is linear and i spent 24 hours to complete the campaign, and spent over 300+ hours on the multiplayer both on ps3 / ps4. get your fact straight’

  • @9: Last of Us took me about sixteen hours to complete on my first try, and every minute was brilliant.

  • So 60$ for a 8-10 hour game, is there any kind of multiplayer?

  • @9 So what would that make Dragon Age: Inquisition then?

  • Should have done this for premium ed. and the hell with digital ost? seriously, fail…..better fix Bloodborne CE while there’s still time. Physical. Physical. PHYSICAL!

  • That said, I don’t expect the same level of brilliance Naughty Dog delivers from every company.

  • If it’s truly that short, it sounds like a solid rental until a price drop then, like how Uncharted 3 was a nice 2-day rental for me initially (don’t care for online multiplayer so much).

  • @I_am_rushin:
Honestly, I wish more of such games would be longer. I don’t know how much replayability this game offers, but if not much, then it would be nice to at least have a longer campaign to enjoy before it’s over.

  • This video is very suspicious for one main reason. The material the statue is made of is never mentioned, which most likely means it is made of cheap material. Considering canceling my pre-order.

  • Don’t people know that most game stores (online) post photos showing all of the content that comes with LE/CE etc.. editions?

IS the point of an unboxing video just so that people can confirm that the items listed weren’t a lie?

I don’t have a problem with posting this kind of thing, but I also don’t understand why it’s wasting Blog space and psn staff time.

  • Was extremely excited for this until I saw the Nudity/Sexual Content ratings. And with the recent news that there might be a brothel involved, I’m quite glad that I didn’t pre-order, unfortunately. It’s a shame that y’all felt that you needed to add sex into the game for it to sell; that was the same reason that I couldn’t enjoy Heavy Rain to its fullest potential.

  • Man I can’t wait for this game to come out, love these story driven third person shooters. Same reason why Uncharted and the Last of Us are some of my most favorite games.

  • @25… oh no, there might be nudity! shield your eyes! /sarcasm……… grow up.

  • @25 if you ever play GTA5 you will freak out !!

  • Wait for the reviews to come out before you waste money on a overpriced collectors edition. This game is most likely gonna have little to no replay value and be very short.

  • Dude….12 hours is the length of an average first playthrough of Crysis 2

I remember that as a satisfyingly long game.

  • Wow. That soundtrack is stunning. It really stands out.

Great job on the video, Sid!

  • Cool video Mr. Sid Sherman.

  • That was “Very Very” interesting. I cant wait to play this game! its so close. To bad I didn’t preorder the Collector’s edition.

  • These kind of videos are cool to watch a couple days before release but seeing them weeks before is kind of depressing. If the games are packaged why do we have to wait until the 20th?

  • @1 Totally agree with you. 8-10 hours long for a linear game is to short.

@9 Red Dead Redemption is a story driven game and that lasted me 40 hours. Resident Evil 4 is a linear game but that lasted me 20-30 hours on my first play through. 8-10 hour games are not worth $60.00 or £50.00 in rip off pounds.

@7 I know what you mean. Us Brits and Europeans get shafted and ripped off again. We pay more for less I never buy these box sets because there not worth our money.

@20 Well I would say that Naughtydog are good developers, but not in the same league as Kojima Productions and Rockstar,
the Animation and cinematography those developers use easily out classes Naughtydog games. You just have to look at the horse animations in Red Dead Redemption which they got spot on. Naughtydog horse animations move and run like camels.

Anyhow I will be waiting on reviews for The Order 1886 before I even consider purchasing.

  • Hey Sid!

Any news on if Ready At Dawn will make the Japanese voiceover available as a DLC like Guerrilla Games did for Killzone Shadowfall? That would be amazing as it would add at least one extra play through of value to the game. For me as well as others I’m sure.

Not to mention, since it’s already recorded they might as well get their moneys worth by selling it to those who want it, right?

    Please, oh please!

  • Hiya Sid!

I’m personally looking forward to this game for the story. It seems very good! Dont care so much for comments on the game as in length or playstyles. PLUS I was lucky enough to get myself a Premium Edition! Only 16 days left!

  • Nice video. I am so pumped for this game…it looks great.

  • Isn’t a little premature to have a collector’s edition to a game that has no past iteration? The fanbase has not even been established yet and we have a collector’s edition???

  • How about a little less collectors edition and a little more 4 co op from you guys!

  • @ streeks1984: Sometimes, people support companies, not franchises. I like what Ready at Dawn has done in the past, so I’m buying this, Day One, regardless of reviews, or supposed game length/quality. I’m not a poor little kid, I have money to spare. I don’t wait for sales. I buy what looks interesting. And since I also like Steelbook cases, I did indeed pre-order the Collector’s Edition as soon as it was announced. The premium edition’s statue actually looked less interesting in my opinion, so I didn’t bother with it.

It’s called “Collector’s” edition for a reason. Not “fanbase” edition, but “Collector”.

Really looking forward to playing this two weeks from Friday. And quite happy it took the same route as Wolfenstein did last year. Focused story, no online. Thank you.

  • This is a nice edition. I pre-ordered the Premium one, with Galahada falling while shooting a Lycan. I just preferred that statue to the one in this. . Very excited for the game.

  • i got the Premium Edition both statues look great but love that in action pose

  • I can not wait to pick this up and nice vid!

  • Will those of us getting the digital edition receive the behind the scenes content?

  • So for 20 more bucks you get a bunch of useless junk with it. Nice.

  • Thanks for the video – the statue looks very detailed – could you tell us what she is made of?
    PVC? Resin?
    Thanks
