The Drop

Prepare to drop into high-stakes combat and protect democracy at all costs — Helldivers is coming to PS4, PS3, and PS Vita this week in a flurry of friendly-fire chaos!

Helldivers enlists you in an elite squad of soldiers that travel the star system, obliterating any enemy of Super Earth that dares rear its insectoid head. With full four-player cooperative, and the looming presence of friendly fire at every turn, Helldivers is packed with challenge and three different alien races itching to destroy you. Procedurally-generated levels keep even the most versatile soldiers coming back for more, and a non-linear mission structure opens up even more carnage-laden options. Bonus: Helldivers supports cross play and cross chat across all three platforms.

If squashing space bugs and cyborgs isn’t your cup of tea, fear not: Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines is also headed to PS Vita this week. In it, you’ll guide a clan across many generations in an effort to purge your family of an ancient curse. With watercolor visuals and spectacular battles, this RPG brings a new twist to Japanese mythology.

For a full list of games coming to PlayStation this week, read on. And enjoy the Drop!

    Enjoy the Drop!

  • Hey Ryan, do you know if they added an easy mode to La-Mulana Ex?

  • Any word on when we can pre-order/pre-load the digital version of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD?

  • @Helldivers Trailer: “Would you like to know more?” lol.

  • FlashDrivePrime

Is there any update on when we’ll hear what March’s PS+ games are?

    Looking forward to Helldivers!

  • @4
Same question, I’d really like to know if we’re getting Episode Duscae with the PS Store Digital copy of the game.

  • Joao_Vicente

    Sad birthday for vita :(

  • nothing for me. I would be getting Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines, but I already stated why im not supporting it.

    Oh sweet!

I’m going for Helldivers and Zombie Army Trilogy this week!

  • ThumbsOfSteel74

I’m looking forward to the March Plus Preview Preview. It will be an entire blog post devoted to thrilling us all with the anticipation of what the actual Preview post will be like. It will be filled with glorious images and videos of people being amazed.

The actual Preview post, I’m afraid, will be somewhat of a letdown by comparison. But I’m really psyched for the other one.

  • What’s the prices for both White Night & Zombie Army Trilogy? Thank you!

  • YES!!! helldivers I have been waiting for you for too long!

  • hawjboi2009

  • twinspectre

@LODI16b oh look i’m a gamer , but i don’t know how to play seriously ? games are becoming more easier and you still don’t know how to play ? DAT GAMER DAWG

  • slambert215

    SO READY for olliolli 2!

  • TheFlyingPuffin

Definitely picking up Helldivers. It was completely off my radar until now. Such awesome Starship Troopers vibes. Do you want to know more?

  • VanguardFate

6 comments in. I was wondering how long it would go before someone asks Ryan about the IGC. My guess was 3rd comment, lol.

Oreshika looks somewhat interesting. Plus I hear it’s only $19.99.

  • Oreshika, Helldivers, AND Zombie Army Trilogy? Going to be an expensive week, considering I thought ZAT is about $45 by itself.

  • megalodonshark

We need to see more classics for phone and ps2

  • camseyeview

Hope White Knight is a PSPlus free game of March.

  • Helldiverssss! Excited to play that =)

  • I`ve been waiting for Helldivers for so long! Great job guys on bringing it for us!
    Day one buy!!
It`s a great week for PSVIta owners! and there is more to come!

  • No line-up for march yet? daaaaamn….

  • What is going on with the new PlayStation Network re-banding? Video Unlimited was supposed to be rebranded to PlayStation Video in February.

Is PlayStation Vue comming out this month?

Will PlayStation Music be here on March 29th? Or are we just not going to have a music service on PlayStation for a while? And on that not can we ever expect PlayStation Music on PlayStation Vita? That is the only platform I ever extensively used Music Unlimited on, as I really only stream over 3G while at work.

I am extremely exited for all of these sevices, especially PlayStation Vue, as I hav wanted to rid myself of Cable and Dish services for years. Hope everything is on track for Q1 like has been said on multiple occasions.

As for the drop. I am looking to pick up Helldivers and La-Mulana EX.

  • Please bring more Arcade Archive games to North America

  • If you want to release so many digital only games for Vita, please release a 1TB memory card too.

  • “Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines / PS Vita — Digital”

Still salty. Sony stop it. Thanks. Let me pay $30-40 instead for a retail copy.

  • IDsAreForWimps

More budget indie titles for the PS4 again… yippee… Infamous Last List and Injustice Gods Among Us was a huge glimpse at some hope that PS4 owners were starting to see some real games for a change. What a step backwards this is. We should see titles like Knack and Killzone by now. Thief is a fairly new game and PS3 owners got that one akready so age of game can’t possibly be an excuse.

  • waiting for final fantasy type 0 psn pre-order!
    when will this be up?

  • IDsAreForWimps

    Last Light, sorry.

  • IDsAreForWimps

Xbox Games with Gold got Rayman Legends on X1.

  • VanguardFate

@28, A 1TB Vita memory card would be like $2000 with their pricing though…

  • IDsAreForWimps: this is the weekly drop of new games not the March IGC annoucment

  • Just waiting on that PS+ announcement to know whether to renew my sub or not. If there’s nothing but Indies on PS4 again, I think I’ll save my money

  • Hopefully I’ll get to play Oreshika a bit before I have to leave for work.

  • This is the last big Sony-published Vita game and it’s digital-only and almost 3GB. The few times you do release Vita games, you make sure that we can’t buy them.

  • DharmaPolice

    hey Ryan,

Thanks as always. Do you know if Final Fantasy Type-O will be available for pre-order on the PSN?

  • #39 : DharmaPolice, i think it will be available to pre-order in PSN Store this week Tuesday when psn store update is my hope

  • mody94_Station

Can’t wait for Oreshika, I don’t mind it being digital, also glad they kept the Japanese dub…

  • where the ps+ game at?

  • yowzagabowza

  • JRPG-Gamer4ever

I have much hype for Oreshika and can’t wait to play!

  • Still no PlayStation Plus announcement.

  • illwiththeskill

I hope the march ps4 game is Wolfenstein. I know they won’t give away Far Cry 4 or Dying Light and that’s pretty much the only games I don’t have that I want lol

  • Scubamesteve

Played hell divers at the play station expo. So excited for this game.

  • @30

Man…. this post is dumb, really really dumb.

    How old are you?

  • TheHitman007PR
