This Week in PlayStation: Mankind Excited

Shout outs for a couple hits that didn’t make this week’s top ten (because they happened at the end of the week): the intro cutscene for Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward has been revealed in all its snowy glory (don’t watch if you haven’t finished the story in FFXIV A Realm Reborn, though). Also, our pals at Yacht Club Games came by to show us more from the Kratos fight in Shovel Knight — including an 8-bitified version of the God of War theme!

Lots of Bloodborne, Woah Dave!, Bastion and FFXIV for me this week — what are you playing?

Please explain the Titan souls price snafu.

  • Another 99 cent flash sale please.

  • Hi Justin, I am really enjoying MonsterBag for the PS Vita, it is a fun and colorful adventure. I do have a question about PSOne Classics. Any chance we can get Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue added to the PSN store? They were my favorite JRPG’s growing up and I would love to play them again on my Vita or PS3/PS4. I’ve noticed you have added other titles by the people who developed this game already into the PSN. I would definitely buy these day one if they were added!

@yowzagabowza thanks for the heads-up, didn’t notice that yeah Titan Souls is getting a price-hike before release according to the Spring Fever schedule post. Non-PS+ price was $9.99, now will be $14.99. PS+ price was going to be $8.99, now $13.49. I guess Acidnerve noticed that all of the other indie game companies are getting away with charging +$10 for their games successfully :/

This Week in PlayStation: PlayStation Blog Crew Screws Up Prices (again) And Does Nothing About It As Usual

  • would you please give heads up to the firmware update team about a spotify bug that does not allow at times to recognize how many songs i have on my playlist? also, there’s another bug that affects it while running in the background when you play vofoo pool the cursor just would disappear at times as well.sounds like there could be a memory leak on there or something.you forwarding this to the sony team would be greatly appreciate it

  • thanks

  • So the new PSNow games was the highest viewed post? Well, that sounds like Sony has something here. If only they would add more games to the service so it’s more tuned for everyone. The price is fine, the content needs work. I want to use the service, but it offers me nothing. If PSNow had Resonance of Fate and 3D Dot Game Heroes I would be happy to use it.

Sony needs to work to get more 3rd party company games on the service. They could make a killing if they reacted to the potential it had much quicker than they have.

I’m playing: Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines, Final Fantasy Record Keeper and Record of Agarest War Zero. The last two are phone games
I’m watching: The Returned, Bates Motel, Daredevil and just finished Better Call Saul finale.
I’m listening: Want You To Want Me by Jason Derulo over and over.

I would love the PS blog crew to do a big blog post on some of these vita games that haven’t been mentioned in months. I bought Pier Solar for PS3 because Watermelon Games said they were working on vita version and it was crossbuy. This was in October I think. I’d like to see some actual RELEASE DATES on Severed, Project Phoenix, Dragon Fin Soup, Geometry Wars 3, Bastion, Axiom Verge and especially Rainbow Skies!!!!

  • Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu 2012 crashes constantly since the 3.50 Vita update. Many people are having problems with other games as well. This needs to be fixed.

  • rabidninjamonky

Just listened to the blogcast, and realized there’s another vita delay! Yippee!! Teslagrad isn’t coming to vita this week?! Getting real sick if this…

  • Rezolution77

Bastion is less than $4 on Steam, FYI.

Will wait for the Vita version, of course, that is until a better handheld comes out, due to PlayStations’ attitude towards it customers.

  • man Mortal Kombat X is amazing **** men **** YEAAAA!!!!!!! I’m love you PlayStation 4

  • Titan Souls price hike? Hmm, was going to buy it day 1 after trying out the demo, but I’ll find another way to play the game now…

  • Aside from the good PS Plus games and the vaguest of hints at Rev 2 Vita (Monsterbag could use a stability patch) not a whole lot for Vita diehards.

This week in PlayStation: Trolling, trolling, and more trolling at the PS Blog.

    I had to say it.

  • Somebody help me out here. A buddy of mine told me that the games he gets through what is the equivelant of playstation plus on the Xbox, allows him to keep the games forever, even if his subscription runs out. Is this true? If so, what the heck is Sony doing?! The fact that I’m basically RENTING these games through plus is the main reason why I’m dropping it when my subscription ends in a couple months. The sales stink, so I’m basically paying to rent a few random games each month, and I’d rather own them.

I’ve seen people complaining about the size of the cloud saves, you can’t purchase games that are on sale if you’ve downloaded them through plus (I hate this, as do many others), and this news about Microsoft giving you the games forever shows me that plus is behind. Hopefully they’ll change that, because I’d definitely be willing to stick around if the games were yours to keep.

No I’m not being a troll, I don’t even know if what he is saying is true, and I couldn’t find anything to confirm that elsewhere, so I really want to know if that is the case or not.

  • SladerStudios

@Splodem Yup, it’s true. I just got Xbox Live Gold a couple of days ago, and I now have both Child of Light and Rayman: Legends for free. The best part is that I get to keep them even if my membership expires.

Source: I have both a PS4 and Xbox One.

  • If you buy PS Plus cards on sale, it’s less than $3 a month, so I don’t get the complaints about them being “glorified rentals”. I pay more in tax on new releases than that.

This week was mostly Axiom Verge, though I did try Monsterbag and Aaru’s Awakening. Oh and Xenoblade 3DS.

  • ThumbsOfSteel74

Games with Gold: Just to clarify, you should all know that only Xbox 360 games are truly free once downloaded regardless of subscription status. Xbox One games are much like PS Plus games in that you can play them only with an active Gold sub.

That said, their lineup definitely rivals Plus. Even tops it on occasion. But the list of games since the beginning, easily findable on the web, shows mostly indies on Xbox One. Not that I care really, but that’s a common complaint about Plus and folks who don’t like it wouldn’t be much better off with the other guys.

  • I cant find anywhere any news regarding Final Fantasy VII Remastered. Can you give me any news? It was supposed to be released this spring, but everyone seems way too quiet about this. Thanks.

Since the trolling on the PS Blog won’t stop, I will copy and paste this hashtag on every single comment I post until it stops.

If possible, make sure you copy and paste on your comment so I know you’re not one of them.
