Oh look, the worst sales yet. These prices are ridiculous.

  • Seriously? No sales on the standalone DLC? Gotta buy the whole game?

So much for spending anything on Call of Duty this week…

  • Very disappointing sales for the last week I expected something better but oh well ?

  • PhenixNguyen-

Oh no…. Another Call of Duty sale!!

  • ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz.

  • Best update ever thank you Sony!!!!

  • I’m not surprised Activision has a crappy sale.

  • smoothboarder540

$45 for a 5 year old game? No way! I’ve got to get that!

  • chie chen, i’m waiting for golden week.hope you guys will offer a great flash sale by then.

  • Terrible prices on a terrible series. Owellz.

  • I’m bummed that they didn’t include any of the older call of duty games like Modern Warfare.

  • yowzagabowza

*peeks out front door* i-is the spring sale finally over?

  • Orpheus_Aeons

    Very very disappointing.

I know it’s not (entirely) Sony’s fault, since Activision is like the Anti-Christ of video games. And although some of those prices are (kinda) good…the cool ones end up like ridiculous purchases.
$22 for BO + 1st DLC AND BO2 + 1st DLC sound like a gift from God…but you need to be INSANE to buy a bundle that takes up like 40 GB of HDD space! Especially if you consider that one of them is a really REALLY old game.
The same goes for Ghosts “Gold Edition” at $20…until you realize that Ghosts sucks and the “Gold” from that edition is just the 1st DLC…that only tricks you into buying the rest of ’em (if you wanna see the end of the special “episodes”).
And that leaves us with $45 for BO2 + Season Pass. At first glance, seems awesome…until you’re able to understand that 100 bucks for an old game is a damn rip-off! Even with a Season Pass. Especially if you (like me) are only interested in playing Zombies and NOT the “regular MP”. -_-

So…in conclusion… DISAPPOINTING SALE with no redeeming value whatsoever. Truly a shame. =(

Dang! Sony and MS must be in cahoots with Activision. When I saw the sad XB sales this week via Majornelson, I thought that my other (but necessarily better) half might have something else to be had. Nope! You can get snag a physical version of COD Ghost (for PS4) for between $10-$20. Digital should be far cheaper. This is a sad excuse of a sale.

I appreciate digital downloads but since all current gen games fully install and don’t play off the disc (and thus prolong your console’s life), why would anyone choose digital over physical unless there is a significant price difference. And because everything installs to your HDD, it’s very very easy to fill up 500 GB. Reinstalling a game via disc is still a lot faster than downloading it again. At least with the XB1 you can easily plug in an external HDD (4 TB can be had for $114) and avoid having to migrate data from one hdd to another. Come on, Sony, give us an update to match that feature.

I hope most of us snagged some titles off the flash sale. I got a couple of PS3 games to play. And not long until the Witcher 3 is out for PS4!

  • I really was hoping for a COD sale. I was hoping i could buy the dlc, after i bought almost every game from the series. So SAD : (

  • I really wonder if Sony reads the blog posts comments or not. Sure the people who work on the blog read it, but does it get reached to the people that really are in charge of things?

If only they would just see that digital should be so much cheaper. It locks the content down so you can’t resell it. It gives them money, where as physical will lose them money in the long wrong with how many different hands it will get into. Sure, they support that, but that doesn’t mean they should not try to combat it so they can get more out of it. People can buy a new game for $60, then trade it in and 2-200000 an UNLIMITED amount of people have a chance to play that one copy and not give ANY money to Sony or any other publisher. But if they had a good Digital sale for even $40 for a new game being cheaper to make, it all goes to the makers of the game(split accordingly, but split less to retailers) and that 2-200000-Unlimited number of people that they get no money from will buy digitally cause people seek the cheapest price. Giving them more money.

Whatever though, it’s a loss for Sony to keep these prices so high.

  • Aaaarrrrrghh where’s my precious drive club ps plus edition. Whine whine whine, whine did you not sell all the dragon age dlc in that last sale so i could throw my money at you. I’m so heartbroken all i see are indies and you failed to acquire an ip ( tomb raider) that was born on your platform. owww my heart is hurting Sony Your KILLING it.
But really in all serious love u sony keep up the good work

    2. Please allow users to install, save, backup, and load individual games to an external hard drive
    3. Please allow current PS+ users to purchase games that they already got free on IC
    4. Please allow users to get digitally purchase games from PSN on PS Now at no additional cost
    5. Please link PS Video to Ultraviolet
    6. Please do a IC special so that late PS+ can take previous available IC games. Maybe a flash hourly giveaway
    7. Please allow PayPal to auto fund wallet purchases
    8. Please allow games purchase from the website to auto download to the PS3 while the console is already on
    9. Please make PS Now more like an iTunes for games rather than a Netflix of games. Allow users to purchase games from PS Now and be able to either stream the games online or download them offline. Allow those same users to play those games on different devices. And as I mentioned in #3 allow users who already brought those same digitally to get them on PS Now with no additional cost.
    10. Please create a PS1, PS2, and PS3 emulator on PS4, PC, and TV. Make it like Nintendo’s Virtual Console.

  • I am currently having an error where I am unable to download previously purchase games from the website to my PS3. I keep getting an error message to try again. I have been having this error since Sunday night. Are you aware of it?

Random question, I noticed that Xbox and PlayStation sometimes have the same games on sale at the same time. How and why does that happen? For example, currently both Xbox and PlayStation is having a sale on COD. Who manages the sale? The publisher/developer? I thought it was the console owners.

So the “Blog Team” is only deleting comments from “epictaco” and the guys that insults them …meanwhile some bozos SPAM and SPAM and SPAM every chance they get…and no one deletes, bans or do anything about that. Great job, people. -_-
All of you are doing a terrific job showing how HYPOCRISY works… >_>

  • Should have just called the whole thing Call of doodie, lack of sales kinda hurt a sales event.

  • freshprincepbg

I am glad the Spring sale is finally over. I rather have a sale in a variety of games each week than a sale on a bunch of games drom franchises that I don’t even care about. This spring fever sale was too long. At least you had two flash sales to make up for it though

  • OnTheBus666

Wish I could get cod season pass but oh well. Shovel knight is rad glad to get a discount on that

  • every single year i look forward to the call of duty sales, and every year im extremely disappointed.

6 years later and the black ops dlc is still $15, and 4 years later the modern warfare 3 dlc is still $15.

its crazy how you pretty much screw yourselves out of sales by continuing to only offer the ultimate edition where if you were to purchase the stand alone games by themselves, it’ll be less than $10 each, and if you were to buy the dlc’s separately, it would still be cheaper than buying the bundle from the store.

the sad thing is that black ops is already $5 in an actual store and purchase the dlc would for $14.99 for a total of $19.99, but if we were to purchase the game AND dlc from the psn store, it would cost us $19.80 … WOW, i’ll get to save $0.19 … thanks sony!! -__-

  • @1 they just had a crazy flash sale, did you forget like 2 days ago already?

  • Orpheus_Aeons

    …and the “Price-chaging Ninja” strikes again! -_-

It’s really that difficult to just check the prices BEFORE posting the weekly update!?? Un-freakin’-believable… o.O

  • Orpheus_Aeons

    *changing

  • It would have been cool to see older Call of Duty games like 3, Modern Warfare, and World at War for $5 each. But Activision sale prices are always disappointing. For comparison:

Last week: Rockstar put every Grand Theft Auto game on sale, and all except GTA 5 was $5 or less.

This week: Activision puts only 4 CoD games on sale, and the cheapest one is $19.80.

  • The poster for Shovel Knight is misleading ,The poster look so nice but then in-game graphics look so crap .

Who would pay $14.99 for that ?

  • Id like to get a Black Ops map pack or 2, thats bull**** that these are bundled with the full game..

  • I never thought I’d say this about a sale, but I can’t wait for the Spring Fever sales to be over. Worst I’ve seen.

  • johnny_toastburn

This is the most hilarious sale in a gauntlet of terrible sales. I didn’t pick up a single thing this year because the prices aren’t even close to what I can pay for a physical copy, and this is the most laughable of the bunch. Someone needs a reality check.

  • Well I enjoyed the spring sale this year. I picked up Metal Slug 3, Titan Souls, Shovel Knight, Stealth Inc 2 (even though it technically wasn’t on the sale), and am still trying to figure out my last purchase. There have been a LOT of gems in this sale. But I will say that the extra sales were not enticing enough.

  • Ehh, the only game I care about is Shovel Knight. Its finally here!

  • pfff!! Malisima la venta ._.

  • I was hoping that Call of Duty Classic would be on sale or the season pass for Black Ops II, Ghosts and Advanced Warfare would be on sale separately but Activision is incredibly greedy and doing what they always do; give COD a discount but not a deep enough discount.

  • KosmoCrisis

Yes, people at Sony read most of the comments left in certain posts like this one. But the problem is the Blog team has already moved onto the next week’s/month’s content and big ticket posts. Once they publish the sale post, as long as no one points out an actual mistake, they’ve already moved on.

These poor prices and title choices likely fall on Activision and Sony marketing teams involved in brokering these deals.

BTW, here’s an Ultra Violet/iTunes digital copy code for the movie Noah. Go to paramountdigitalcopy dot come/noah or ultraviolet dot flixster dot com/paramount and enter the code RELFLEP7J9FX

Enjoy a terrible movie on me, goes great with this terrible sale.

  • I really dont get all the hype surrounding Shovel Knight. I just dont. Its just an average game.

  • tokyopunchout

Yay for Shovel Knight! As far as COD – Comment #1 FTW! Brava @FlashDrivePrime XD !

  • Heads up everyone. Sony does not regulate the process

  • xThulsaDoomx

If people stop buying call of duty they will stop making call of duty and all the crappy dlc’s.

  • idk wtf u guys are talking about but this is a good *ss sale. At least from my perspective to Black Ops 2

  • iamtylerdurden1

Anyone considering any of these who owns a ps4 please buy metro on ps4 to see what a real fps looks like, single player anyway.
