PlayStation Now Subscriptions Come to PS3 May 12th

We have some exciting news: PlayStation Now subscriptions will be coming to PS3 later this May! Now you’ll be able to play a huge library of more than 100 hit PS3 games on PS4 and PS3, as well as select Sony Blu-ray players and TVs, all for one monthly price. That’s an incredible number of games to binge on — and of course, you can play your games across devices with cloud saves.

Look out for PS Now subscriptions coming to PS3 on May 12th, and if you haven’t tried PlayStation Now yet, this is a perfect time to start your free 7-day trial.

The subscription will be coming to more devices soon, and will be adding new games monthly so you always have something fresh to play. Without further ado, here are this month’s new titles:

Fat Princess

Rescue your beloved princess through teamwork in this comic medieval battle royale. There’s a catch, though — the other team has been feeding her magical cake, making her harder to escort back to your castle. Choose from five distinct character classes and switch at any time to best help your team. Charge head first into battle, heal teammates as they break through enemy lines, and upgrade your team and the castle defenses as you work with your team to save your princess.

F1 2014

Feel the power of new turbocharged Formula One cars in the most accessible Formula 1 video game yet, including a new driver evaluation system to adjust the game to your level, shorter career options, and new Very Easy mode. F1 2014 features all the cars, drivers and circuits from the 2014 FIA Formula One World Championship including new tracks in Russia and Austria.

Sanctum 2

Sanctum 2 is the sequel to one of the first Tower Defense/FPS hybrid game. Pick from four unique character classes and embark on a mission to protect the oxygen-producing Cores from hordes of deadly aliens who are threatened by their existence. In Sanctum 2, you will utilize elements from multiple gameplay genres to succeed. Construct towers and walls during the building phase before the enemies attack, then jump into the fray and blast everything to pieces in FPS mode. You can progress through the single-player campaign yourself, or play with up to four friends in co-op to discover the secrets of the planet LOEK III.

PS Now, May 2015 Update

Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce

Step into a Dynasty Warriors experience unlike any other. Up to four friends can team‐up for a wide range of heroic action‐packed quests. Become one of history’s greatest warriors and work as a team to conquer heavily‐armed fortresses, infiltrate enemy strongholds and more. Spectacular battles await!

Farming Simulator

Farming Simulator will challenge you to take on the role of a modern day farmer. Animal husbandry, crops, sales… It’s up to you to manage and grow your own farm in two huge environments: typical European and American environments. Progress in your career to complete different missions and control more than a hundred farming vehicles!

That’s a wrap on the new games for May! We’ll bring you more titles next month, and in the meantime, you can check out a full list of all the games now in the PlayStation Now Game Streaming Subscription at PlayStation.com.

  • This is fantastic… I hate going to retail gaming stores. After long 12 hour working shifts I can easily relax and STREAM games. There are so many games I haven’t tried… This is amazing; extremely happy I purchased my ps4. This is great for my friend who has kids, she can afford to shell out the monthly fee to keep her kids entertained. I just sent her a 20$ Psn gift card as a gift, as a single mother of three i think she deserved it.

My recommendation would be if you folks could bundle a yearly ps now with ps plus membership, My game recommendations would be:

    Japanese only titles
    Star ocean
    Sacred 2
    Silent hill
    Resident evil 1 & 2 (original)
    Metal gear solid
    Final fantasy 7
    Gran turismo

I really wish you folks would team up with Nintendo ^.^

  • I just hope I don’t lose any of my game on my ps3 I spend a lot of money on them I also have a ps4 but I still play my ps3 . I wish you guys will just make a PS3/PS4 HHD with 5 or 10 TB no need for blu ray just a nice big HHD to play all my PS3&PS4 game all in one

@Orpheus_Aeons: Ah, my mistake then. It was actually another user:

“The reason the PS4 is not bc with the PS3 is the same reason the PS3 was not bc with the PS2…cheap more copies of the older system. The PS2 lasted like another 5-6yrs after the PS3. If Sony had kept bc with the PS3, the PS2 would have died soon. By not doing so, Sony could sell the PS2 for $100. If Sony made the PS4 bc with the rise and even rise the price of the PS4 a little to cover that cost, Sony would be losing money. The cheapest PS3 is like $200. And the most Sony can rise the PS4 with bc is by an additional $100. Sony would be losing $100. It is all about a “profit deal”.”

…which is fairly on point with what I was saying. Otherwise, I mostly agree with your latest posts here. No, there wasn’t too much complaining here back then. But this isn’t the only public forum, or even a terribly popular one. And I have little hope any of our ideas for PS Now (or BC/emulation without it) will ever become reality. But we’re still here saying what we would like in place of what we clearly don’t want.

Meanwhile, I wonder if those who want to stream games they own would pay ($0.50/$1.00/whatever) per game for streaming rights. This satisfies two goals: 1) Sony not wanting to give you bonus formats for nothing, and 2) you not wanting to pay for a streaming service that doesn’t even include all of your purchased content.

  • Looking forward to Dead Space 1-3 coming to subscription.

  • Please Bring Metal Gear Solid 4

  • hi there, when will the ps3 ps now be available ? I am already a subscriber on ps4, and it’s may 12. What do I need to do on my PS3 to be able to access my subscription and content for ps Now? thanks!

  • So where is the subscription for ps3? It’s may 12 and no sign

  • ok it’s the 12 and still no now system for sub’s but what was i thinking they always say something is coming and a no show, i already cancled my plus account cause of the poor game choice, now i think about xbox 360 but hell i hate and i mean hate microsoft xbox

  • extrememeatball

what the heck it is now the 13th and no ps3 subscription app i contacted support via chat got no answers the agent didnt even know what i was talking about and then they rudely ended my conversation without even saying goodbye. What the heck?? Don’t post something ps and not deliver thats not right at all

  • like i said before i hate xbox and microsoft but playstation seems to be going the way of xbox with thier customer service and lack of abilty to comuncate with players, at first it was with plus games they seem to have a good selection and xbox had to work hard to catch up now it’s reverse xbox has good games and psn getting low end games, now the psn now seems to be falling behind on things, and we don’t mind if it is delayed but at least tell us whats going on.

  • I recently subscribed to PS Now to play some classics that I missed during their prime, such as the Infamous and Uncharted games (I do own all the Uncharted games just don’t feel like playing on the PS3 anymore). I feel though this the PS Now library is missing some of the playstations best games – J/RPG’s. Lets start with the Tales of series, where are Vesperia, Xillia 1/2, Graces… maybe even Hearts? What about Persona 3/FES, 4/Golden? That horde of JRPG’s that sony is known to have that usually fly under peoples radar? With a service like PS Now, you can literally play any game with the push of a button, so why not use that service to promote games that people may have looked over before? With instant access to those games, many people will at least try them just because it’s there and available. In terms of fighting games I’ve noticed a lack of Tekken games as well as the Persona 4 arena games.

  • Or moving on beyond some of these recommendations – considering there is no way to play classic PSOne/2/3 titles on PS4 (had you purchased them from the playstation store, will you guys be trying to implement those classic titles into the PS Now service in the future? Or does sony eventually plan to allow us to play games we’ve purchased from the Playstation store on our PS4 consoles anytime soon?

  • I love the F1 series! But how about adding the Gran Turismo series? I’ll love that even more!!

And will I able to upload my GT5 and GT6 save data to the PS Now Cloud once they’re subscription games?

  • if i have PS+ i also have access to this?

  • Boy you took advantage of killing OnLive fast!

  • I would like to see some of spyro series o playstation now

  • Such as dawn of the dragon and eternal night

  • When will we see ps4 games with this service? I would definitely drop my gamefly script for this one if I could just rent the games directly onto my ps4. Just make it an option to add on it to ps+
