Sound Shapes — 3 Year Anniversary Update

Hey everyone! Sound Shapes just passed its 3rd anniversary and today we’re celebrating our awesome community of players who have continued to blow our minds with creative levels.

First, to everyone that downloaded the game for free during the PS Plus promotion in September, welcome! We hope you enjoy the game, it’s been awesome to see a ton of new creators building cool levels. Fun fact: during the month of September, we averaged 200 new levels per day! Even if you’re not into making levels, there are still a ton of great new levels to play.

We’re celebrating this momentous occasion with six new Milkcrate albums of curated community levels from the creators of the game. Creating Sound Shapes was truly a collaborative effort, and it’s been special to have everyone back to see how the game has evolved since launch. Needless to say, a few minds were blown!

In other good news, we’re having a huge sale this month where all Sound Shapes DLC is 50% off in the month of September, including the Ultimate Bundle (game + all DLC) and Add-On Bundle (all DLC).

We’ve also lowered the price of the core game permanently to $9.99 (previously $14.99) and that is one price for all three platforms (PS4, PS3, PS Vita).

If you’re a Sound Shapes player, thank you for playing and contributing to our great community! And if you haven’t had a chance to pick up the game yet, now is a great time to check it out!

  • Sound Shapes is one of my favorite PSN games, thanks for continuing to support it!

  • Sound Shapes is a really cool game that I was glad to pick up those 3 years ago. It’s a music game that’s also a very competent platformer, with intelligent and flexible style that actually goes with the music, rather than just being a basic visualizer. Glad you guys are still going strong, and I hope that if you have another cool idea for a game up your collective sleeves, you have the opportunity to make it. I’d be down to check it out.

  • Nice, I just bought the $10 Ultimate Bundle, pretty amazing price as both the game and all the DLC add-ons are three-way cross-buy. I already downloaded it to my PS4 and PS3, but looking forward to play tonight on the PS Vita as well!

  • Awesome update!

By the way, what is queasy games working on these days??

I’d love to see their next project or even them tackling another cool rhythm game franchise….like patapon for vita!!

  • I just filled in my DLC gaps for $3 — thanks for the discounts! I’ve passed the Sound Shapes torch to my 6 year old who loves creating levels.

  • Sounds Shapes is a great game – glad people are still cranking out new levels for it and it got a good boost from PS+ :-)

  • Like like like like like

  • Timmy the sound shapes blob is one of the most endearing characters ever created

I’ve been a supporter since day 1 and 3 platinums later after Timmy burrowed his way through my ear drums into my heart (possibly killing me) I can say Queasy Games is one of my favorite devs.

How about a sequel with new artists?

  • I am one of the people that got SoundShapes with the PS Plus and it is currently my favorite game to play on Vita! This new Milkcrate addition came right on time before I have this really long plane ride this weekend, so… THANK YOU!
I love the “story mode” and I wish more albums were added to that mode, but I guess new curated albums in the Milkcrate is the same thing, so I’m fine, I guess is just semantics.
Kudos on the great game and look forward to playing more stages!

  • I loved this game, then tried to mop up the last few trophies to get the plat. Got stuck on the death mode level with lasers shooting at you in an X pattern, and now I can’t even look at this game without wanting to punch something. Why create something so frustrating within such a perfect game?

  • Definitely one of my favorite PSN games. Looking forward to the new levels. Here’s hoping a sequel is in development.

  • Happy Anniversary.
One of my favorite indie games. I even bought it twice, the regular edition and then the Ultimate.
Time to revisit the game to try those new levels. :)

  • Awesome! My first, and currently only level, made it into JimGuthrie’s playlist!

  • Damn I bought Sound Shapes a while ago…guess almost 2 years ago and then last year in the end of 2014 I bought it again cuz the edition with all the DLCs was on sale.Yet I haven’t had time to play the game yet…damn those menus look sweet, really great to look at,seems very organized….great job.

Hoping to play the game and join the community soon.

    Happy Anniversary!!

  • Happy anniversary!! :)
Sound shapes was my very first psn purchase. Before i used to buy a lot of physical games. After sound shapes most of my purchases nowadays are digital. Anyways sound shapes is one of the most unique games I’ve ever played and it’s nice to see it being supported even 3 years after its release.

  • This game is awesome! By the way, does anyone know the overall sales of this game? I’m quite interested to know considering that the developers have been supporting it (in terms of DLC) for many years now.

  • I received the game free from PS+ so I bought the dlc bundle to support you guys. Continuing to support your game three years later makes you an amazing dev team in my book. Looking forward to trying out your amazing title!
