Sparrow Racing League Coming to Destiny: The Taken King on Dec. 8th

“Speed Kills, but it’s a fun way to go…” — Amanda Holliday Greetings again, Guardians. I’m delivering this important message live from PlayStation Experience in San Francisco, where I’ve already had the chance to meet a bunch of awesome players of Destiny. Wish you were here! If you watched the show they put on here, you know what a bunch of people in the convention hall are about to experience first-hand: Sparrow Racing is coming to Destiny!Destiny The Taken King, Image 03 I’m super excited to see who’s the fastest gamer in our community. It’s something we’ve wondered about for some time. On December 8th, we’ll find out. The Sparrow Racing League will welcome competitors to participate in a six-player free-for-all deathrace through enemy territory. See Amanda Holliday in the Tower for details, when the time comes. She’ll be your Quatermaster for this event. Grab and quest and take your mark on the starting line. You might also check with Tess. Eververse Trading will have some flair to make the event a little more fun, and stylish.

The race begins on Tuesday and runs for three weeks. The finish line is December 29th. Good luck, and don’t be afraid to trade some paint with your friends.

For those complaining about this…
It’s completely free to existing players.
They didn’t have to do this.
Most games don’t get big new content for free after release, and Destiny has offered tons of it (see Festival of the Lost).
Activision is infinitely better about serving their players than EA.
I’m very excited to relive my Star Wars Pod Racer days. :)

Wait, will this be a temporary event? As in, like the Queen’s Wrath, it’ll disappear and Sparrow Racing will be forgotten until it’s packaged into a DLC as “new” content?

If so, that’s a shame. I was wanting to race on actual tracks with sparrows (And pikes and other vehicles) since the Beta. Having a fun side option to do so would’ve done wonders to add variety and content (I’d even be fine with just one track per planet, with some new ones in the DLC packs).

Still, it’s a step in the right direction. Please keep taking more.

I’m yet to be a Destiny playa but ma brother plays it all the time and lemme say this is AWESOME…it adds so much to Destiny’s universe, gotta say what an amazing idea guys…I just don’t understand why just 3 weeks?…this is some great content and idea, thats what you call expanding the universe of your game. Please make this permanent on the game.

This here is an amazing content their addidng but i must say that because its temporary they should be doing things like this atleast every month if not they should permanently add this content to the game i spent alot of my hard earned money on this game we hardcore gamers deserve it
