The Drop

Ladies and gentlemen: freedom is at stake. But not to worry, because an unstoppable troop of bros has arrived on PS4 to protect it. It’s time for Broforce.

Command a variety of bros as you battle enemy soldiers, aliens, and even demons in this over-the-top, side-scrolling shooter. Unleash devastation across fully destructible levels with explosive weaponry and razor-sharp melee attacks. Be the bro you were meant to be.

If you’re not feeling bro-ish, have no fear — there’s a huge lineup of new games coming to PlayStation this week. The branching thriller Heavy Rain launches on PS4 alongside the gory and grotesque fighter Mortal Kombat XL.

Square Heroes

Square Heroes on PS4
There’s nothing more satisfying than mowing down your buddy, hearing them curse, and then doing it again just to rub it in. • Alekhine’s Gun has a really misleading screen shot. Those graphics looks insane in the screenshot but the previews look like something out of 2013 PS3 era.

  • Why would I want to buy Heavy Rain again for PS4? Did the story change? My opinion only but when I play games on my PS4, I want them to look good. To me Broforce looks like garbage. I wish they would just give us 1 good game a month.

  • Oh Heavy Rain, nice!

  • No Heavy Rain on disc = no sale! Apparently if you DO NOT live in the U.S., you can buy Heavy Rain/Beyond Two Souls packaged together. I guess the small, backwards American market isn’t worth the effort.

I encourage people to think twice about digital. I bought a lot of digital content for my PS3, but they limited it to only 2 consoles. Say you have had 2 consoles and they die. Out of luck. As others have already noticed, the PS3 is basically dead insofar as selling new consoles go. Since they have stopped producing PS3 consoles, the end of PS3 support can’t be far behind.

But Heavy Rain is PS4, so why not settle for digital? For the PS3, digital content sometimes resulted in better performance since you could fully or partially install a game to the HDD. But with the PS4, games on discs are automatically installed. What is the advantage of digital over disc then? Sometimes digital is cheaper. That’s about it. With disc at least you have the game permanently.

Flawed argument. You can deactivate consoles on your web account. Hell you can even contact customer support to get them to deactivate both. It’s not their fault you’re a lazy prick. Would it be better if there wasn’t a restriction? Absolutely. But there’s still a way around your issue.

  • How much will Heavy Rain on ps4 cost? (With discount and regular price)

  • Waiting for Okage to drop sooooo bad! More PS2 classics coming any time soon? :)

  • so many ps4 games and not one Phantasy Star Online game

  • How much will the Discounted Version of Heavy Rain PS4 Cost ?

  • But will heavy rain support the Move controller? One of the only games that did it right.

  • Heavy Rain! Was my favorite on ps3 definitely getting for ps4

  • Come on no new PS2 game this week??
Here’s my Realistic wish list. (Games people will actually buy unlike most of the comments I read on here)
    Burnout 3 takedown
    Need for speed most wanted
    Tony Hawks underground

  • Let’s hope Sony forgets their spring fever/franchise sales this year. I’m sure everyone that wants batman/assassins creed/call of duty/Lego games already has them, and doesn’t need an entire week devoted to each individual franchise.

Give us some more psp/ps1/rpg/Snk/xseed sales.

  • “I’m sure everyone…” I am sure you’re wrong.

“Let’s hope Sony forgets their spring fever/franchise sales this year.” I’ll stick to looking forward to any possible deals on games. Thanks for the concern.

“Give us some more psp/ps1/rpg/Snk/xseed sales.”
They did. Their Golden Week sales tend to be packed with those games.

  • Please Stop the indie games!!

  • legendary_mantis

Are you guys fixing the missed content from last week on the Canadian store? Superbeat Xonic’s DLC isn’t on the store and it came out last week.

  • creeperslayer456

Does anyone know why I can’t download broforve off the PlayStation store, I’m on the PlayStation store and the game is supposed to be free this month for PS plus members but I’m not seeing the download button anywhere

    • legendary_mantis

Thats Sony for you. THey even messed up last weeks releases. Especially in Canada and Mexico. Abit of stuff didn’t even make it to the store.

  • Is anyone having issues trying to download broforce ?

  • Broforce is available for purchase on the store but it doesnt give me the option to download it. What is going on,ive been waiting forever to play this game and i cant even get it :(

  • I wish Sony would stop trying to remake games that already exist. I personally would love to see Sony put their resources towards creating LEGEND OF DRAGOON 2! I have dreamed of the day when I would see a LOD 2……

I know a lot of people say the FF of that time was better, but for me – My favorite Playstation rpg hands down is Legend of Dragoon and I wish they would make a second one. I would support its creation.

  • Great job Broforce voters.

The game is another 8 bit side scrolling shooter that could have been out 3 console generations ago.

I was bored and annoyed 5 minutes in.

Thats 2 for 2 for the community sticking the majority of us with game we didnt want and shouldnt have been a PS+ title.

Please Sony, stop doing these votes.

If you want to give us the option of picking the game we want, out of 3….let us do it individually, but letting 40% decide what we all get makes absolutely zero sense.

    Thanks for listening.

  • We got a new PS2 game, too.

A match three puzzler with RPG qualities. Its pretty friggin addictive.

Its actually much more fun than anything weve gotten for free lately. If you like match 3 RPG style games, its 10 bucks well spent.

Just thought id throw a quick spotlight on it.
