Always nice to see PS2 classics, keep em’ coming!

    gameman15 said:

    March 20th, 12:51 pm

That’s right Sony. Keep ripping off those who already own those PS2 games either on disc or digitally on PS3 when you guys could’ve just added disc support and support with PS2 Classics on PS3 with a mandatory small upgrade fee. I understand that software emulation is flawed and it takes time and money to get it right, but that doesn’t mean that they have to leave out those who already own those games either on disc or digitally on PS3. *inhales and exhales in disappointment* So much for “Greatness Awaits”/”For the Players”.

    FoxStar1 said:

    March 20th, 1:39 pm

Gameman, you need to chill out. There is nothing written in law where Sony has to do what you say. But please, keep acting like an idiot.

    Beyondthegrave07 said:

    March 20th, 5:13 pm

Gamerman, how many times must I tell you this? You can’t “patch” a ps4 to read ps2 discs. A Blu-ray reader is not the same as a ps2 disc reader. Sony would have to create an entire new model for this to happen. Would you rather pay another $400 for a trophyless ps2 emulator? Please, if you don’t like it, don’t buy it…

    FarmFreshEggBoy said:

    March 20th, 7:24 pm

Beyondthegrave07, you don’t understand how optical discs work. A PS4 can read a PS2 disc, it won’t be able to do anything with it, but that’s where the emulation software gameman15 wants comes in. That however is a whole other issue.

    gameman15 said:

    March 20th, 9:48 pm

@FarmFreshEggBoy True. The PS4 can still read PS1, PS2, and PS3 game discs. It can also still read audio CDs. It’s just that Sony was apparently too lazy to implement support for them for anything (PS1/PS2 game discs and audio CDs I can see being supported soon, PS3 game discs are highly unlikely due to the PS3 being too powerful to emulate). But when it comes to PS1/PS2 game disc support, I see 2 problems with it. 1 is that it can only work if they’re available digitally on PS4. And 2 is that you still have to pay for those games. However, it should be able to make you only pay a small upgrade fee if you put in the original PS1/PS2 game disc (legit disc I might add) into your PS4 and/or if you’ve already own it digitally on PS3.

    veryhoudini11 said:

    March 21st, 12:32 pm

@gameman, yeah sony is too lazy. They have programmers just sitting around their offices doing nothing, occasionally thinking “lets make an emulator today” but ultimately deciding they’d rather continue relaximg and beimg lazy. Yup that sounds realistic.

    ReHsA said:

    March 21st, 8:09 pm

    @gameman15

Then don’t buy any of them, dude! I’ve got tons of VHS movies but I can’t play them on my Blu-Ray player or the PS4. Doesn’t mean I should complain about it!

    AntDaGamer said:

    March 21st, 9:12 pm

+ gameman15 you also had the option to keep your past consoles..just like you kept the game..or you say you kept the game. I don’t understand why console owners continue to keep faith in emulators on consoles after the PS3 and Xbox 360..ooh well. Now you pay..to play either for it digital or find you a console to play your old games on. You do have a choice.

    Welmosca said:

    March 28th, 11:03 am

@ FoxStar1 – Acting like an idiot?…lol he’s pointing out how greedy Sony is,ripping us off by selling us overpriced PS2 games we already bought 2 times and you’re saying he’s acting like an idiot?…better rethink that or I might just say to you…keep acting like an ignorant.

Wake up dawg…don’t let your admiration for Sony overshadow the truth that they’ve become greedy.

    andregurov said:

    March 21st, 6:59 pm

Don’t know if this helps, but I had a code (I received last week) for a download of this game; all week until tonight the PSN Store refused to take it. Now the code has finally been redeemed … but it does not yet show up on my download list. I have the feeling that after tomorrow’s update it will be there, though. Regardless, at least it shows up now as a title we in North American can own the license to in Sony’s account database. That’s a promising start …

basically nothing. i’m starving for some good PS4 games and its been that way for the two years I’ve owned one. have companies given up on consoles or something?

    FoxStar1 said:

    March 20th, 11:30 am

If you can’t find anything to play on the PS4 after two years, your lying, blind or a idiot. Pick one and correct it, but don’t come here and whine about it.

    Coltaine22 said:

    March 20th, 12:18 pm

Every major game over the last two years has been released on PS4, so if you can’t find any games, you just don’t like what people are making. Not Sony’s fault. Plus, next month Dark Souls 3. May has an insane lineup with Uncharted 4, Overwatch, Doom 4, Mirrors Edge, Battleborn and Homefront.

    TheHerbinator75 said:

I have the complete opposite problem…Can’t keep up with the great quantity and quality of games…from AAA games to indies….there is something for you…unless you’re strictly a football fan… That game only comes out once a year…and no competition in sight.

    gameman15 said:

    March 20th, 1:21 pm

Keep on dreaming @madmanwithabox12, because thanks to both Sony and their third-parties no longer supporting the PS Vita, it’s never going to be on that failure of a handheld system.

    Mercenary09 said:

@gameman has a habit of saying wromg and pointless things.

    gameman15 said:

    March 21st, 1:27 pm

@veryhoundin11 You say that I speak out everything “wrong and pointless” yet you have no idea what I’m talking about. You’re completely ignoring the fact that the PS Vita barely supported by both Sony and their 3rd-parties. Meanwhile, the Wii U, which is selling more than the PS Vita BTW, is still supported by Nintendo even though that too doesn’t have as much 3rd-party support. And you’re ignoring the fact that it’s not just me who is criticizing Sony’s way of bringing PS2 games to PS4, there are others who criticize it as well. Want proof, go to YouTube and type in “PS2 games on PS4 rant”, or watch ReviewTechUSA’s “No PS4-PS2 Backwards Compatibility?” video. Maybe you should do that instead of being a troll.

    madmanwithabox12 said:

    March 22nd, 3:36 am

    Gameman, please stop talking.

    1) Day of the Tentacle IS out on Vita this week, it’s right in the drop here. I was calling out the fact it isn’t mentioned in the opening write-up.

    2) Vita still gets plenty of support. Not from Sony, but the fact is it’s still getting new games released every week. Do a little research.

    3) Last I checked, Vita was doing better than Wii-U. Not that it matters, since they’ve both done terribly. Vita has way more games available than Wii-U and way more 3rd party support. Not sure what you were trying to prove here?

    4) DotT is a result of Third Party Productions, a group from PlayStation dedicated to working with 3rd party devs/pubs to get their games on PlayStation systems. Sony might not be making their own games for Vita, but they’re still supporting Vita through 3PP. Again, do a little research.

    5) Stop sounding off about things you clearly don’t understand.

    6) Oh, you follow ReviewTechUSA… that explains everything.

We demand more NeoGeo games on PSN. No Samurai Shodown 2 or Mark of the Wolves on PSN after all these years makes me want to cut myself (they are on every single platform FFS). So does the lack of LB2 news. So unless we hear about a LB2 release date, or more NeoGeo ports on PS4 soon, I’m gonna really cut myself. I mean it.

Love seeing that Okage Shadow King! I bought this a few weeks ago used for PS2 though actually – my PS2, PS3 and PS4 are all plugged into the same HDTV currently (the way people should have it if they’re dumb enough to complain about “having to rebuy games they own already”. Entitled punks… )- so I won’t be rebuying it on PS4. But being someone who also owns a Wii, Wii U and 3DS, I’ve seen how badly a “Classics” line can be handled. Nintendo looks at their Virtual Console services – completely different for every platform – and just keeps putting out the same junk again and again and again. It’s boring. Even the blindest fanboy of the Big N can’t possibly rebuy the same Mario games 6, 7 times. It would be easy for you guys to just bring over all the PS2 Classics from the Playstation 3, but instead you’re letting games like Rise of the Kasai, the Dark Clouds, Rogue Galaxy and now Okage shine on Playstation 4. Good on you guys for highlighting lesser known, but no less high-quality (and beloved!), games!

    gameman15 said:

    March 21st, 3:05 pm

The only difference here is that Nintendo is at least consumer-friendly enough to allow those who already own those Virtual Console games on the regular Wii just pay a small upgrade fee to get the Wii U versions of those Virtual Console games (you just have to do it after you transfer data from your regular Wii to the Wii U in addition) and also allow those who already own physical regular Wii games to be playable on the Wii U. Sony on the other hand won’t do neither. Therefore, even if you already own those PS2 games either on the original disc or digitally on the PS3, you still have to pay full price for them on the PS4 when they could’ve just add support for both the original discs and support for the digital versions on the PS3 to those, so that way, if you already own them on the original disc or digitally on the PS3, you can just put in the original disc (if you have the original disc) or just have it digitally on the PS3 (if you do) and just pay a small upgrade fee for the digital version on the PS4.

I want to be able to download and play my PS1 classic “Spyro The Dragon” on my PS Vita. My other classics like FF7, destruction derby, 2xtreme, resident evil, & etc will. Why wont SPYRO?!?!? …I wish even 1 would download and play on the PS4…

    gameman15 said:

    March 21st, 7:58 pm

@iNoxious I highly doubt they’ll make every PSone Classic digital game compatible with the PS Vita (which unfortunately includes the Spyro games) due to barely any support for the PS Vita from both Sony and their 3rd-parties. PS4 on the other hand I can see being compatible with PS1 games, but (along with the PS2 games on the PS4) I would like to see support for the original discs as well (and yes, again, the PS4 can read audio CDs and PS1/PS2 game discs, it’s just that Sony hasn’t added support for them yet). However, for the discs to be supported, it has to be legit and it has to be for a game that is available digitally for PS4. And, again, they should make it to where if you already own a PS1/PS2 game on the original discs or digitally on PS3/PSP/PS Vita, you should be able either put the disc into your PS4 (if you have the original disc) or just simply have it digitally (if you do) and all you have to do to get the upgraded version on PS4 is to just pay a small upgrade fee, which won’t be too bad, and better than paying for it at full price.

PS4 is a “Next Gen” gaming console with a lot of “Last Gen” games. I wish these game developers would stop creating these primitive looking games, and utilize the PS4’s capabilities to their full advantage. Sometimes I see games in the PS store, and I say to myself “Who’s gonna buy this crap?” I want games that look and feel realistic like UFC 2, The Division, GTA V. Arcade Classics are cool, but c’mon Sony. I didn’t pay over $400 for a PS4 just to play 8 bit and 16 bit games. Gaming companies and developers…..PLEASE!!!!……..STEP YOUR GAMES UP.
