Paragon Essentials Edition Hits Stores June 7

Hey, PlayStation Nation! We’ve been working on a special retail edition of our new MOBA, Paragon — called the Paragon Essentials Edition. The Essentials Edition includes everything you need to start killing me on the battlefields of Agora, including a launch-exclusive Wasteland Twinblast skin.

We put together the Essentials Edition so that even if you’ve already bought a Founder’s Pack, you’ll still find the Essentials Edition an awesome deal when it hits stores on June 7.

The Paragon Essentials Edition includes:

  • 6,000 Paragon Coins (worth $60).
  • In-game currency to spend on additional Master Challenges, skins, boosts, and other items that I’ll see as you stand over my corpse.
  • Five Hero Master Challenges.
  • Each Master Challenge immediately grants a Challenger skin and permanent XP boost, plus unlocks unique rewards as you play, including a taunt (that you’ll use on me) and the Master skin.
  • Includes Master Challenges for Twinblast, Sevarog, Iggy & Scorch, and two soon-to-be-announced Heroes.
  • Five Skins, including the launch-exclusive Wasteland Twinblast skin.
  • For now, you can only get the Wasteland Twinblast skin in the Essentials Edition.
  • Five Rep Boosts (each lasts for three wins).
  • Rep boosts speed up how quickly you earn Rep, which you can spend on card packs, Master Challenges, and more.

Paragon

If you play a lot of Paragon, the 6,000 Paragon Coins is worth it by itself. The whole Essentials Edition is more than $160 in value (based on in-game currency) for only $59.99 ($79.99 Canadian).

For those of you who pre-order the Essentials Edition, you’ll get an extra 1,000 Paragon Coins upon pickup, which you can use to buy more Master Challenges, skins, and boosts.

You can pre-order the Essentials Edition at GameStop, Best Buy, Amazon, Target, and Walmart (and EB Games in Canada) right now.

I’ll see you on the battlefield. At least until I miss my ult and have to sit out for 60 seconds. Good luck, have fun.

  • I’ve really enjoyed my experience with Paragon, but it’s getting hard to recommend to my friends when there is all these different paid variations.

This is a great point ExMimic — All though I’ll likely get this version, to supplement the founders pack. Just wish I can get a digital version, as I don’t want to continue messing with discs.

This has been my favorite game of the year so far. I can’t wait to see what the finished version will look like considering I’ve been playing the alpha version.

Will trophies be live when this edition releases?

I agree, with so many versions, boosters and currencies floating around, it’s getting confusing. People get hesitant buying new experiences when it’s not clear which is the ‘fullest’ or best option. I have enjoyed my time with the Founder’s pack (which also cost $60), so I’m unlikely to pay more for what seems like not a lot. Also, with this pack, it includes 5 skins I’ve already paid for.

Hi! Thanks so much for jumping in with the Challenger Pack. We really appreciate the early support. Glad to hear you’re enjoying Paragon.

The five skins mentioned are separate from those that were in the pack you already have, so they would be additional if you’re interested. If not, that’s cool too. We’re just happy you’ve joined us. :)

Please don’t throw in digital in-game currency and try to say it’s a $60 value, it’s just something you threw in the gouge people.

    • You must be new to FTP MOBAs. Paragon is pretty reasonable with the way they are handling the micro transactions.

    • @ Setzaroth…this isn’t free to play. It’s cost money for the founder pack and now this is another $60. That’s more than traditional disk games. That’s at least $80+ dollars. That’s far from FTP.

    • OptimusJarrod

@ Rangore When the game comes out it will be FTP. By purchasing any of the founders packs you are given early access to the game, which I thought was worth $19.99. Upon release, people will be able to download the game and play for free. Most of us just do not like micro-transactions. I think EPIC makes great games and $19.99 to support the game is the least I could do to thank them for the amount of time I have gotten out of it.

  • I love the game but it crashes a lot ,won’t let me report bugs and keeps deleting my deck I just spent time making

I have a question that can hopefully be answered. I am having a ton of fun with Smite for the past couple of months and can’t wait to hop in to Paragon soon enough as some have posted I don’t have a clue as to what version offers the most bang for my buck.

Any suggestion as to just grab a founders pack now or should I get just wait to anybody browsing this post.

    • Nodnarb_420

You can start with the cheapest one and upgrade later if you enjoy the game enough or just wait for a free play weekend, which should start happening soon.

Does the essential edition come with the base game ? Like a disc to play it or something.

  • TimelessDbz

Please tell me the exclusive skin in the essentials pack is going to be free for the people who bought the master founders pack.

  • Trojan_Knight

Well I like to say this is hell of a game I’m very pleased with it. I was more than happy to help you guys out buying the $100 Founder’s Pack because I believe in the game. but I even feel this essential addition is a better deal than $100 was paid for the founders. The coins are given in this essential pack nothing like it was offered to the founders the Skins are more like color schemes nothing aesthetic changes about the heroes compared to other mobas, basically you’re changing blue to black white to grey red to blue. In the comment I read up on top anybody who has doubts which to refer, I must say the $60 is a better offer the hundred-dollar Founders Park.

  • So basically this version gets more stuff than the $99.99 Founder’s Pack that I have. Cool. *sigh*

    • Mmm, not really. Doesn’t the $100 founders pack include master challenges for like 40 heroes?

  • Also just a idea but trophy support and better master skins, better skins in general, but still a great game

  • I’ve been dying to try it out but by reading the comments it seems that getting aka pre ordering the essentials will get me a better bang for my money while still getting the full experience of the game, did I get that right? P.S. jist started getting into MOBAS aa of late & really enjoying the experience so far, and no SMITE for me, plus as long as this game do not have some sort of pay to win, I’m 100% commit to it., thanks.

Loving the game so far and happy to support early access with a founders pack. I just bought the basic founders pack but I want to upgrade the founders pack to the Masters pack. I see the option in the web store, but there is no way to purchase it, I can only add it to my wishlist. From my PS4, I don’t even see the options in the PSN store.

How can I go about upgrading my Founders pack to the Masters pack?

  • Those of us that took part in being a Founder should not be pushed to the side with deals that are better and cheaper than what we invested. This is a big turn off and I am not likely to spend anymore on this game if that’s their strategy.

  • I think I will pass on the Essentials edition. I already bought a Master Founder Pack, and I think that is plenty enough money invested for a free game.

  • Does anyone know how many characters are included in this version? Im deciding on this the other 60 dollar version and the 100,if tis only includes the 13 characters then I might buy the $100 version.I want to know are future characters included,or at the 39 characters like the $100 version?
