7 Days to Die Arrives June 28 on PS4

Hey there! Rick here from The Fun Pimps. I’m thrilled to share a look at our “survival horde crafting game” 7 Days to Die with you!

7 Days to Die Arrives June 28 on PS4

A few years ago, my brother and I talked about making a game that would combine elements of some of our favorite games into something new. We’re huge fans of the Fallout series, and Minecraft, among others, and so we started working on what would become 7 Days to Die.

7 Days to Die has sold over 1.5 million copies on PC, which is mind-blowing to us. We’re so grateful to have had amazing support from the community from the very beginning, and now, we’re beyond excited to bring our game to a new audience on PlayStation 4.

So, what is 7 Days to Die? 7 Days to Die combines first-person shooting, survival horror, tower defense and role-playing elements in a mix of combat, crafting, looting, mining, exploration and character growth to create what we hope you’ll think is a unique, addictive experience.

It’s an open-world sandbox game to play alone, via splitscreen, or online, that gives you an enormous amount of freedom to choose how to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. You’re dropped into a harsh environment with almost nothing – not even clothes on your back. Through scavenging, crafting, and hunting, you’ll eventually put together the basic items you’ll need to live. You’ll have to deal with cold, heat, hunger and thirst, and there are wild animals that see you as prey. But that’s not the worst, because you’re not alone — the undead wander all around you. Slow and relatively easy to avoid by day, at night they become merciless, fast-moving killers, hungry for your flesh.

Once you have the basic tools of survival, you’ll need to find or make shelter. Start out with a humble wooden cabin, and over time, as your skills and scavenged loot improve, you’ll be able to build a fortress. Craft weapons, forge tools, sow crops, dig-in and survive. But even the most prepared survivalist can find that their well-laid plans can come crashing down around them…literally!

Everything in 7 Days to Die is fully destructible and moldable, and just as you can shape the world to your needs, the undead can tear it apart. You might have reinforced the doors and windows, you might have crafted mines and traps, but what about the floor under your very feet? Did you strengthen the foundations? What if the undead dig right in from underneath you?

7 Days to Die

We’re incredibly excited to be working with Telltale Publishing and Iron Galaxy to bring 7 Days to Die to PlayStation 4, with exciting new features and exclusive pre-order skins from The Walking Dead – A Telltale Games Series, including Lee Everett and Michonne!

7 Days to Die will be available to download from the PlayStation Store, or can be bought on-disc from your favorite retailer on June 28th!

Love the idea of survival horror plus crafting. You caught my interest :)

  • This had nothing to do with the game

  • AirMaxPenny

Sounds very interesting. I see it supports split screen co-op. Does it also support online co-op?

  • whereymyconary

It does say it supports online so easy to assume so.

Is the game a rogue like game or if you die is everything back to when you last saved?

    • Ataraxy_209x

It is a game where if you die you have to start over.

    • If it’s like PC, then default settings are not perma-death, but there is an option to turn it on.

    • Hey everyone look up zero punctuation 7 days to die.

    • Very good

    • BennyBeatdown91

Well it depends on how the owner of the server has it set. you can make it to where all your gear will drop or none of it will, or only your backpack.

  • Splitscreen support?? IN! Sold. Gimme.

  • cammers1995

Man, this seems like the perfect make up for not having State Of Decay on PS4. This looks fantastic.
Are there any NPCs? Its not a big deal if not, as it will still be cool, but I am just curious. It would be nice to build towns and populate them.

    • They’re working on NPCs and even bandits. But don’t know if they’ll be out before the console release is out or not.

  • YorlecmNwahs

Why does it look like a PS2 game though?

    • SureBigBuster

I was just going to say, I like the creativity and all and I’m no “graphics wh*re*” but c’mon….those graphics look like a**

    • PS2 graphics is hyperbolic, but you’re not getting Uncharted 4 levels of graphics with this because it takes a ton of performance to run a huge, fully destructible world. Even the ground is destructible so that you can tunnel to a bedrock level similar to Minecraft.

I was honestly (and pleasantly) surprised that they were able to get this to run on PS4 at all. But I’m glad they did because I like this game much more than the more talked about games such as DayZ, Rust or H1Z1. (And look at the graphics of these games keeping in mind none of them are fully destructible worlds like 7DtD.)

    • You have no clue what a PS2 game looks like.

    • Indies

  • MONSTER_543

YES! I can’t wait to play this game. I saw ‘You Always Win’ play it on YT and was dissapointed I didn’t have a PC to play it. But now I CAN!

  • Chazz-Rabble

Awesome. Keen as to give this a spin. PS has been needing a survival game like this for some time. Still hoping DayZ makes its way to PS too.

    • Seems like this will be the day-z fix to hold us til or if that game ever comes to the 4

    • This game kicks dayz’ butt. Go to steam and look at how many people play 7 days compared to dayz, state of decay, and h1z1 you will see.

  • BigGamerHunter

wow, that looks awesome im definitely getting it

  • Is online play open PvP?

  • xGhostXProtocolx

Alright, early access game on steam coming to ps4! No way this will be “completed” before that release date.

    • I’m a heavy user on Steam. What is going on is it will be released in Early Access on PS4 the same way Ark is on 360 and how Ark will be when its released on PS4 soon.

  • bianca760619

Anyone know how much it will be?

  • IcedDice777

Adding split-screen totally sold it to me. Day 1.

  • rockoutdude77

This game looks like a lot of fun. Look forward to it.

  • Pvthudson_01

Man this game is hardly optimized on the PC let alone the PS4. I sure hope you guys plan to put a lot of work into this. The current PC client is Alpha how are you planning on supporting TWO platforms when one is not even done

    • The Fun Pimps will be providing minimal support for the console version. Its being published by Telltale games and developed by Iron Galaxy

  • medenko1975

wow graphics is bad, really bad.

    • Relentless_Est94

      Graphics aren’t everything kid.

    • I agree graphics aren’t everything is you know about that game you’d see it’s more about the realism. The fact that something as small as drinking dirty water can give you dysentery or get hypothermia theirs so many great aspects to this game that me as a person player don’t give two shards about the graphics lol

  • Ohh cant wait, I am a big fan of survival horror open world. Now will this game be fixed before it plays, thats the question and how is the graphics.

  • Relentless_Est94

This is what Playstation has needed. Open world, multiplayer, survival, crafting.. All in one. Thank you guys. Is it going to be server based? (I hope so) and how many players can be in a world at one time?

  • This is an amazing game. I’ve had it on PC since it was in alpha 7 (it’s in alpha 14 now) and I have over 1000 hours in the game. The Fun Pimps continue to improve upon the game play and have mad something unique and enjoyable to play. I would say that there is definitely online play, if the PC version is any indication. I’m not sure how exactly it will work on console but on PC you can host a game and allow friends to join on the PC version. (I rent a dedicated server myself, so that people can play when I’m not online. I’m not sure they can implement something like that in the console version). If you’re curious about gameplay there are some great videos out there demonstrating the capabilities of the game.

  • So does the ps4 split screen

  • And where the H1Z1? We want H1Z1 of Survival also ps4

    • The game is coming out this year but under release date is say TBA so I don’t think they’ve released an actual date for it yet.

  • DaRk_StAr_Sk8TeR

When can I preorder 7 days to die on the PlayStation store

  • WILL 7 DAYS TO DIE BE AVAILABLE TO PRE-ORDER ON THE PLAYSTATION, BECAUSE IT SAYS AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD IN TRAILER.

  • henrich-_-dorand

    Thats a Awesome idea Thx

  • Serious question here. Now I know for PC you can rent a private server for example 10$ a month for a 8 persons private server for you and friends. Can you rent a server as a console player?

  • AGNB-Jordans

    Add me on PlayStation
I want friends for this game so add me and hmu

  • zombie9887654321

Cant wate its about time there coming out with a game like this now just wateing for h1z1 and dayz

  • CrAZzEd-PuLSe

Will you be able to play on like a million server like on pc. Or will it only be people you invite to your game! Like pc you can go around and find random people building their forts will you be able to do this on console
