PlayStation E3 Experience 2016 Announced

E3 Experience

With E3 just around the corner (wow, is it really only two weeks away?!), I’m excited to announce that the PlayStation E3 Experience is coming back on Monday, June 13, to over 85 movie theaters across the US, Canada, and for the first time, Latin America!

In 2014, we had this crazy idea to partner with Fathom Events and broadcast our E3 Press Conference LIVE to some theaters North America, not knowing if this was something people would even be interested in attending. Two years later, and we’ve had to more than double our seating capacity to accommodate everybody!

There’s just something special about watching the news and excitement of E3 together with fellow PlayStation fans that makes this an event I look forward to every year. Between the loud cheers that, honestly, probably ruin movies for people in adjacent theaters (sorry not sorry), and the camaraderie felt in the air from being surrounded by the PlayStation Nation, there’s no better way to experience E3.

In addition to getting to watch an HD simulcast of our E3 Press Conference, fans in attendance will go home with special PlayStation goods, including a commemorative Coca-Cola E3 Experience Cup and #37 from the PlayStation Collectible Card series first introduced at PlayStation Experience 2015! This is the only way to get your hands on these exclusive collectibles, so don’t miss your opportunity.

Of course, we didn’t forget about the digital gift basket this year, but the contents of that will have to remain a surprise for now…

  • A lot of the fathom events are available at Crossgates Mall in Albany, NY. I was disappointed that this one isn’t. Any chance of adding more locations?

  • I may actually attend this year, even considering I will likely miss out seeing the other press conferences due to the drive. Still probably worth it though. You guys truly know how to throw a party!

  • will the website work this time? last year I couldn’t even get on the site I was on right at 12 est when tickets went up and still couldn’t get in.

  • Once again I will attend this one last year was awesome can’t wait to show the love for PlayStation

  • Is it one ticket per person? I wanna get one for me and my friend. Or does he have to get his own?

    • You’ll likely be able to choose how many seats you’re reserving. I remember there was that option last year. I also remember the site had heavy amounts of traffic, so the pages might not load correctly.

  • Woot! Kansas City is on the list.

  • Hey, anyone who has attended this in theaters before….how good is the “Digital Gift Basket”? What’s typically in it?

    • Usually a couple of DLC codes and a few bucks for the PS store.
The one they had in Toronto last year also had playstation bags, a t-shirt the year before and usually a poster.

    • I attended the Pittsburgh region last year. You don’t get your digital goodies just like that. I received $5 (may have been 10, can’t remember) PSN store card (good for an indie game), DLC code for Arkham Knight (which I haven’t received, yet) and KillStrain beta, 7 day trial to PS Now. The physical gifts last year for my area was a Battlefront stick, Greatness Await Poster, lanyard, I enjoy the lanyards and the badge that comes with it, because it makes you feel more like being at the press event.

  • I wish you had a Cleveland location. Cinemark in Valley View, Macedonia or Cuyahoga Falls would all be perfect.

  • This is pretty sweet. Gonna be my first PS E3 experience, and it’s literally right in town, as I live in the Fort Lauderdale area. Sawgrass is literally around 3 miles from my house. I’ll be sure to attend it with a couple of homies!

  • Two places in Washington, that is an increase. I hope everybody gets a chance to go local.

I think I will skip this year after the two last. I have a meeting that night that I need to lead as the director of the board.

    I hope everybody has fun.

  • Heck yeah the Indianapolis one is just right up the road for me this year! Nice! Definitely going to have to attend it!

  • VERY psyched to attend an event in Mexico. Thanks for taking us into account!

  • You guys did a bug check on the Canadian end this year, right?
No one want’s to find out their postal code is invalid.

Last year they had tickets up to a couple of days after because most of them were locked away due to multiple attempts.

  • Dang, no North California cities? But there are 4 right around each other south of Sacramento. Oh well, I guess I’ll be enjoying it online. =D

  • Hi I was a deaf, my lack of hears and speak in my mouth. I hope there closed caption (English subtitle) in PlayStation E3 Experience 2016 on the stream video….. :(

  • Hell yeah, they switched theaters to RIo 24 in Albuquerque!! Thank god, last 2 years a Cottonwood the feed or audio cut out numerous times and made the whole experience real hard to enjoy.

  • Anyone from the Pittsburgh region last year? I went there and was second in line, but the people ahead of me didn’t have tickets. So, I was first in line by default. I’m only asking, because I remember a Sony representative there was taking pictures and would love to see myself. I’m narcissistic like that haha.

  • back2future33189

I would like to have it in Zephyrhills Florida because we have nothing in are town

  • This would be great over in Europe too!!!

  • Im actually close to a theatre this year! Still, nothing will top last year’s. Why bother ?

  • See you in Dallas!!

  • Disappointed in their theater choice in Phoenix this time. 2 years at the Ahwatukee 24 and now they move it to the other side of the valley. Nothing like having to go over 30 extra miles through awful traffic to try and get to this thing. Both previous years were completely packed, so there is definitely demand for an extra theater or two out here.

  • Thanks for bringing this to Morgantown, WV!

  • Get my tickets for PlayStation this year is my first time

  • In Metro Detroit, MI, there are not a lot of theaters that will want to use an auditorium for free when they can charge tickets sales for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II that week, even for a few ours. Cool for Lansing, sucks for us.

  • I meant hours. I wish they had an edit function on here.

  • i can honestly say i can find where to get the tickets i’ve been on the website and cant find anything since last year

  • Will the site automatically update to the ticket sales?. As of now it just brings you to the E3 Experience site.

  • Well this sux, was hoping to go again but there are no locations in or around RI this year. Really hope more locations are added.

  • I’m not a US citizen but am going to school here with a student visa. Can I enter?

  • I would love to go. I wish it was closed than 6hours away maybe next year they can do Coeur d alene, ID or Spokane, WA would be awesome. Thanks for always puting out a great and fun show to watch and stool over.

  • I am so excited for e3

  • Waiting online to get tickets to the E3 Experience Chicago or Kenosha…. I haven’t seen any update to the web page yet… if I refresh my browser would that put me at the end of the line?

  • Thanks for making it happen in San Antonio! See y’all there!

  • I can’t wait. I’m definitely going.

  • I look forward to going again for the 3rd time, but its hard to imagine it can top last year with the trifecta of Last Guardian + FFVII Remake + Shenmue III.

  • the site is getting hammered right now haha

  • Got mine :). Clicked as soon as the get tickets went up :P.

  • Please bring PlayStation Experience to Springfield MO.

I suggested my city the first year PlayStation Experience existed. I drove to Kansas City last year and it wasn’t worth the 4 hour drive there and 4 hour drive back. Basically a full day trip of driving.

I guess streaming thus year yet again. Hopefully it will be a great E3 this year.

  • Woot! Got the tickets right away this year no problem, last year I had to try for an hour.

  • At 10:02 am the Los Angeles theater was sold out lol noooo I have gone to every one. Now I wont be able to this year :(

    • Add yourself to the waitlist. Last year my waitlist ticket upgraded to a real ticket a few days before the show when they added an extra screen in NY Stadium 14, and even if they don’t 20% of the auditoriums are saved for a first come first serve basis.

    • Yeah I decided to join the wait list just in case something like that happened but not sure I would drive out there and get in line since I work that day many other will be there far earlier then I could be. So hoping for an upgrade to happen!

  • Really unlucky this year.. i was registering my tickets and the website went down and kicked me out lol

  • Just waiting for e-mail confirmation. But order complete.

  • Got my ticket for Chicago. Will be 3rd year in a row and can’t wait.

  • Got my tickets. This’ll be three years in a row. Was getting worried it wouldn’t happen this year as you waited so close to E3 to announce it.
But either way, my body is ready.

  • site is crashing

    • It already did, and I lost my chance at a ticket because of it. So much for signing up 10 seconds past 10:00. I’m on the waiting list now.

  • Trying to sign up right now and keep getting an internal error message. Help!

  • Me and my brother got our tickets for Toronto! Missed last year but this year we’re golden. Getting hyped now!

  • Geez that was fast. Burnaby, BC, Canada sold out in about 4 minutes :(

On the waitlist, but not sure I will make a trip without a guarantee of getting in.

    • Just keep waiting.
If you tried signing up within the first two hours there are bound to be folks who attempted twice after getting their tickets locked out.

  • When I went to register the website keeps giving me “Internal error has occurred. Support team has been notified and we are working on a fix.” I keep trying and I keep getting that error. I even got to the page where it reserved my ticket and I was putting in my info…. Then I got that error. I hope it went through.

    • Same happened to me. I got a 30 minute window of “reserved” tickets that started counting down. I filled out the form and got the erorr message. Tickets were no longer reserved and were sold out by the time I got back to the page.
