We’re proud to announce that Neverwinter is coming to PlayStation 4 in summer 2016! Almost three years after our initial launch on PC, millions of adventurers have travelled along the Sword Coast to slay the mightiest of foes and to form the most courageous of parties. We can’t wait to welcome in a new group of adventurers to Neverwinter and eagerly await their arrival. Here’s your first glimpse of the adventures that await you in Neverwinter!

Neverwinter is a free-to-play MMORPG that transports players into the Forgotten Realms, where they will explore a fully realized experience based on the Dungeons & Dragons franchise. When Neverwinter arrives on PlayStation 4, it will feature all existing content from the base game, including eight playable classes and nine expansions worth of content giving you hundreds of quests to play through.

Fight against the likes of Tiamat, Demogorgon, Orcus, Valindra and many more sinister enemies from Dungeons & Dragons lore. Adventurers will also travel through iconic locations such as Icewind Dale and the Underdark while teaming up with characters straight from the novels of acclaimed author R.A. Salvatore, including Drizzt Do’Urden.

Neverwinter: Orcus

Neverwinter: Valindra BattleNeverwinter: Sharandar

We are also happy to announce that Neverwinter on PlayStation 4 will be free-to-play for all PlayStation 4 owners as you will not require PlayStation Plus to dive into this full-fledged MMORPG experience.

Are you ready to defend the realms? What class are you planning to play? We look forward to seeing all of PlayStation Nation in the city of Neverwinter later this year.

Actually pretty excited about this, but have to ask: cross-play with PC? I would finally have a game to play with my brother across the country.

    • I was thinking that it’s Xbox One exclusive… Hmmm green side must be in real trouble….

    • Alex Monney

As of now, we do not have plans for cross-play with PC. Our team wants to make sure that there is a level playing field when adventurers jump into Neverwinter on PS4 for the first time.

    • PaleMemories

Makes sense. Thanks for the reply! Still looking forward to giving it a try.

    • If you really need an online game to cross-play with PC, I would recommend Final Fantasy 14. It cross-plays with PC very nicely. It does have a subscription fee, but it is worth it.

    • ExpiredGravy69

They should so let us port accounts from pc to ps4, I have so much money tied up in the game over there.

    • fiestypenguins66

Save yourself the cash…don’t pay for FF14…it’s really not worth it. If it was a f2p game, then it would be worth it.

That said I have been waiting for Neverwinter since I knew it became available for Xbox One! Eagerly awaiting, impatiently I might add! :P

Now that it’s finally coming I am a much happier man now :D

  • roxashunter2

yes thank you i’ve been waiting for this for the longest time omg time to go on long adventures with my friends

    • Alex Monney

Huzaaah! What classes are you and your friends planning on playing?

    • roxashunter2

imma play as a rogue but we are a big group sadly we won’t all fit in a party but we can still travel together 2 rogues 3 warriors/tanks 3 healers and 2 mages

  • Get your wallets ready. Pay to win game all!!!

  • AliciaDarky

This can’t be a coincidence… Just a while ago I was thinking of playing a MMORPG and Neverwinter came to mind (since I have it on the competitor’s console but have never touched it since I prefer playing on PS4, of course) and was wondering when it’ll come to PS4… And now I see this O.o.

    Thank you so much! =D.

  • This is so funny. I was going to get this on Xbox and said to my friend “Hey wouldn’t it be funny if Never Winter came to PS4 being that DCUO going to Xbox?”. Behold!

  • Will we be able to play with PC accounts? I have played it on PC, but stopped sometime ago. I would like to go back to it on PS4, but I don’t want to start all over again.

    • Alex Monney

We are currently not planning on transferring PC characters to the PlayStation 4 versions to keep all new players on the same level when we launch this Summer.

  • AnimeReaper40

Can’t wait a little bit over a year ago sold my xbox and came to ps4 and was missing this game bad hoping it will be brought over now it is i can play with friends Can’t wait._ needs to be summer now lol

  • OMG I am damn siked right now for this game. Been blowing up neverwinter’s twitter just to see when it will be released. I can’t wait to play this on my console .

    • Alex Monney

We definitely saw all the tweets requesting Neverwinter. Thank you for your continued interest!

  • Finally!!! Thank you so much since I’m getting bored with the free mmo line up and also release Star Wars The Old Republic for PS4 since that is currently my favorite.

    • Jhereg_Dregg

Believe me, I play SWTOR just about everyday. I wish too swtor was coming to the PS4.. but it would have to have keyboard and mouse support. This can be done, because FF14 has keyboard and mouse support on the ps4, so I don’t see why Bioware can support swtor on PS4. Can you imagine how awesome it would be to have SWTOR on the ps4? By the way, if you still play on PC.. look me up in game. name is “Treylos Stormjaeger”

  • Always looking for my next mmo fix, any vets out there able to tell me if this mmo has the classic holy trinity going on? As in Tank, healer, dps? If so i’m all in, i miss tanking badly since i stopped playing WoW.

    • Yes it does they though currently they only have on healer which is the cleric I currently play on the xbox but as soon as it comes to ps4 I will be switching and for a tank I would greatly suggest the oath bound pally they are very op at the moment almost unkillable pve

    • Alex Monney

We absolutely have character classes that represent a tank, healer and DPS. If you’re looking to tank, I would definitely check out the Guardian Fighter or Oathbound Paladin when we launch. Both classes (and all our classes actually) will be free when we launch.

  • TrueAssassin86x

Finally Neverwinter coming to my perfered console of choice. I’ve play Neverwinter on Xbox1 but i havent been on it lately. Cant wait 4 this :)

  • ZalitoEurope

Finally! 3 long years… I played almost all ad&d and DnD games but never neverwinter… So glad!

My only fear: its not roleplaying oriented like the old neverwinter nights?

    • Alex Monney

Our game is definitely different than Neverwinter Nights. However, if you are a fan of Dungeons & Dragons, our game actually evolves with the current stories that Wizards of the Coast is creating. We actually just announced that we will have content coming that explores the narrative of their new tabletop expansion – Storm King’s Thunder. The world of Neverwinter will continue to evolve after our original launch.

    • It is an MMORPG, which means quests and loot and mining and grinding and raiding for endless play potential.

It is a F2P, which means lots and lots of grinding, and / or pay for loot rolls or drop boosts for % chance to get loot you want for endless paying potential.

  • Black_MagicWoman

Like many folks here have stated I also have it on Xbox and haven’t played it much. I’m mostly on PS4 so this is definitely some good new to read about.

  • I prophesied years ago that Perfect World would be bringing it’s MMORPG catalogue to consoles. First Star Trek Online( Epic), now Neverwinter. I hope Champions comes over. That game was made with consoles in mind and the controller layout for it was one of the first to do it right and do it well. Keep em’ coming PW! :D

    • Alex Monney

We’re extremely excited to come to PlayStation with several of our titles. Neverwinter, Star Trek Online and Livelock will all be available on PS4 this year. Get your DualShocks ready!

  • Will definitely give Neverwinter a shot. But if this is all free, how will they make money out of it? Can someone tell me if this is a pay to win kind of game?

  • Perfecr World…i thought their service/server client died o_o i would of perfer “APB Reloaded” on ether PS4 or PS3.

  • Looks very good.

  • This game is great fun during the leveling up process so in that regard I recommend it to everyone who may even be the slightest bit interested. After that it is definitely pay to win and Perfect World is not shy about directing Cryptic to charge crazy prices like $30 for a single mount or companion. The whole refining process of enchantments and artifacts is designed to try and get you to spend as much money as you can with it’s $10 coalescent wards.

Also get used to a lot of nerfs especially with new modules (expansions). While they have a ‘beta’ process for them they never listen to feedback and release things with problems or concerns that were reported in their forums many times. Then when they try to’fix’ tings they overreact and bring a sword instead of a scalpel. Don’t take my word for it go check out the forums for yourself.

Don’t get me wrong, even with all its faults, I still play this game on PC and will probably mess around with it when it comes to PS4. Just be aware of what you’re getting into.

    Pros: I love the combat
Cons: I find the monetization disgusting.

  • Been waiting on this…. Have been playing on Xbox one for a while now. But ps4 will be my primary place of play now. I just wish my VIP status would transfer over. Looks like I’m gonna sink another $100+ into this….

  • Tokyo_GorillaZ

I assume this is different than the Sword Coast Legends game coming out. I had also heard the studio that developed that game dissolved. Well anyway very excited about this title coming to PS4

  • the_FREELANCER

Hopefully it’s much better performance wise than the Xbox version because that one can be very rough in areas.

  • Hi.
I would like to know if the game will have support to portuguese. On Xbox One I played the demo with portuguese subtitles, but the final version doesn’t have it! Very weird!
On PS4 will we have portuguese subtitles?

  • I was a founder for neverwinter on pc, will any of my account based information transfer?

    • Jhereg_Dregg

Good questions. Kind of like when ESO came out on the PS4.. I got to transfer my PC character to PS4

  • I am excited for this. I miss my old DnD days, and can’t wait to give this a try. Will this be late summer, or soon? :)

  • I like the Foundry system. Is it open to console players?

    • Alex Monney
      Alex Monney

The Foundry will not be available on the PlayStation 4 version of Neverwinter. We will have all other content in the game available to play for free though!

  • So much to play between UC4 & Overwatch I don’t how this will play out to try & fit this game into my schedule. But i must say free-to -play games are top notch.

    • Alex Monney
      Alex Monney

That’s the nice thing about free-to-play games. They’re always there and available to download. Plus we’ll be adding even more content after our initial launch!

  • ok – i been waiting for this for quite some time. To say I’m pumped is an understatement.

  • GrafUlrich88

    Hello Alex,

I’m really happy your bringing this to the PS4. I’ve been waiting a long time.

I wanted to ask if you guys would consider making some Dynamic Themes and Avatar pictures as well.

    Cheers!!!

    Rob aka Graf

  • YES YES YES my birthday month is June and this is the best gift ever

  • Can’t wait to play a Rogue, is it summer yet?

  • RogueGentleman

I am extremely eager for both this and Star Trek Online on my PS4 :D I’ve played STO since beta as well as played Neverwinter for the last couple of years, but have to say that especially Neverwinter just feels like it would work best on a console. I’m very eager to get my hands on it!

  • So excited to see Neverwinter coming to PS4!!! I can’t wait to team up with Drizzt

  • SarcasticLogan

Will the Foundry be available for PS4? I loved building my own quest on PC.

  • JuggaloHomie4321

Finally at least one mmo is actually coming to ps4 I never thought this was gonna since it released on Xbox like a year ago back now if only deep silver kept their promise about apb reloaded coming to ps4

    • Neverwinter was actually shown (showcased?) at the 2014 E3 as coming to PS4. You can find it mentioned on the EU blogcast page. However on 16-Jul-2015 Neverwinter was removed but if you use the wayback site (web.archive.org) you can see it there.. To find the particular page just google “guns-fat-princess-pain-among-new-free-play-games-unveiled-e3”. Once you have the address enter it into the wayback site. I’d post a direct link but I am not sure that’s allowed.

Coincidentally Jul-2015s was around the same time as the Xbox One version was announced. I can only guess that Microsoft bought a year of timed-exclusivity.

  • Very cool. Can’t wait to try it on!

  • As one who has played the Xbox One version and PC, how does this version differ from XOne?

  • Hello Alex Monney,
Me and my wife were very big fans of Everquest Online Adventures on the PS2, and Final Fantasy XIV Online. We both love MMORPGS with open worlds, is this an open world game? I have watched a lot of game play on YouTube and it looks soooo fun! Thank you so much for bringing this to the PlayStation 4 as a free to play game. Im realy looking forward to the release!
    Thanks, Artilleo.

    • I wouldn’t classify this as open world. There are different ‘zones’ you go to. Once you are in a particular one you can go anywhere in that area but the whole world itself it not open to direct travel (as in you can’t walk from one side of the wold to the other) other than at travel gates where you can go to new areas.

    • I was also a big eqoa player for 11 yrs. Would love to find other eqoa players to run around with, maybe start a guild, etc.

  • Godslayer207

Looks pretty good, looking forward to it.

  • Will neverwinter on PS4 have founder packs available on launch? Hoping something similar to PC! Also maybe a physical collectors edition with a dragon statue?

  • Is it gonna be possible to transfer your xbox account to your ps4 account?

  • MrJones0577

Really looking forward to this game. Many nights were lost the original NWN. Played this for a bit on PC when it first launched. Cant wait!

  • I loved this game on PC!!! I played the crap out of it but pc lost alot of its fanbase when it went to Xbox. Happy to see its finally come to ps4 :) I can show my friends the game, but Im interested in how it will work. If youre gonna have an in game mic system? Maybe not for world cause thatd be alot of people at once but maybe for guilds and private partys? Hope so!

  • OMG yes finally was beginning to think i was going to have to buy an xbox as it is i will def buy another ps4 so me and my boy can play together .cant wait

  • I am willing to give this MMORPG a try. Question though, will Neverwinter have trophies and a platinum? I also want to play this game for fun.

  • i am stoked. i already have an account, and characters leveled. will i be able to port them over?

  • kalob10rhodes

Excited when I played it on Xbox, but now it’s comming to Ps4, awesome. But when will APB Reloaded come out for Ps4? It came out for Xbox but not for Ps4.

  • AnimeReaper40

Do we have a date or you rather not say i know you guys said summer , maybe a hint so june or july ? Lol

  • Shadow_stalke-

For the love of doing it from behind (if you don’t get the reference it’s not dirty kids) give me a date. Gotta get my rogue on already talked my girl to be our healer my buds are gung ho about tanking and casting.

  • Might give it a shot eventually, way too many awesome games are coming out this year.

  • Emexrulsier

Having already played though virtually all of this to death on the PC I do think I will give it a go on the PS4 :D. I enjoy leveling characters but sadly eventually I do get bored. Curious as some of the lower end dungeons that were removed (yet quests still exist to visit them) been re-introduced such as Dragons Liar and the Clockwork Tower?
