  • Commented already but wanted to add something,

I think it would be cool to have a selection of games, if possible, 5 or so for each system, and allow subscribers to choose 2 or 3 that they want. Would give us a bit of choice and option; say if I personally don’t play sports based games, I could chose an Indie RPG or FPS or what have you. There would be less whining, and would give us the opportunity to play something we actually want to play, and keep people from complaining as much about the (sometimes) poor selection.

    Just a thought, Sony!

  • Dang I thought that was DmC Definitive Edition for a second.

  • Good lineup for the PS4 :)

  • The sheer audacity of some of you amaze me. We pay for the right to play online and maintain the servers and networks which allow us to do so. The free games we receive are a BONUS in addition to the online access. You people keep complaining and we might end up with in Soviet Russia ps+ get free game from you! I mean seriously. If you hate the freebies, don’t play them. Problem solved. In the meantime hit Dictionary.com and look up entitlement. That’s how you’re acting and that’s what is wrong with the world today.

I’ve spent nearly 10k on games between my sony consoles so I constantly see games on sale or free I’ve already purchased. Do I whine? Nope. I instead remember I chose to buy them, to play them when I wanted. No one held a gun to me and made me add those funds to my wallet, and I’m pretty sure most of you did it by choice as well.

Be happy for what we get. Free is free either way, and it’s a pretty decent deal.

    • That’s a great way of looking at it! Yeah, there are games they offered before that I personally wasn’t interested in, like the NBA 2016 game last month, and that one game awhile ago, called Super Exploding Zoo, ( which I want to play again, to see if I’ll like it this time. Just want to give it a second chance ) but I could definitely see the appeal of the basketball game, and other PS Plus games that I didn’t care much for. I think the people that are complaining about these free games, in my opinion, need to at least try these games before completely dismissing them. Like, have more of an open mind about them. But whatever, that’s really not a big deal anyway. I’m really looking forward to trying out these new free games. I actually never heard about Furi before today, but it seems interesting. I’ve never been into the Saints Row games, but I’m willing to give this a shot. For the longest time, I really didn’t like Grand Theft Auto 5, until a little over a month ago, when I started playing the Remastered Version on the PS4, and now I really enjoy playing it! :)

    • Thank you! I completely agree with you! Great points made here.

    • Don’t forget the hundreds of dollars in discounts(potentially) a month we get for PS+. Even though I haven’t really gotten much from ther free games in a while, the discounts have still made it more than worth it.

    • The games aren’t free, it’s part of the $60 services I pay for each year. If they were free then the minute I click download they would be mine forever, whether I was a subscriber. And the reason some people complain is that PSN online play was once free for all platforms until the PS4 came out. PS Plus was initially a subscription model that offered additional services to include digital downloads you could play while subscribed along with other features such as cloud save uploads/downloads, etc. Then when PS4 was released and PS Plus became mandated for online play, Sony stopped offering as many quality games for the service. So no, people, especially PS3 and Vita only owners, don’t pay for PS Plus for online play with the “free” games as a bonus.

    • If anyone complains about PS4 online requiring Plus just remember: Microsoft started it by charging for Live. Sure, I got a PS3 based on bluray and free online. I’m no expert, but I’d think paying for online now helps to maintain better servers and online functionalities? Maybe that’s why people loved Live, even though both kept on getting hacked.

    • @punk the games they’re offering are of the exact same quality, they just don’t cater to you.

  • Great lineup for july thx sony

  • Additionally, I helped beta/alpha test paragon, and try that one out IMHO. It’s an amazing new MOBA by the company responsible for the unreal series and the unreal engine itself. Those guys know how to make games. Even in the early stages I had immense fun playing paragon for hours on end. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

  • Don’t understand hate for PS Plus game lineup. So you have to pay to play online. Don’t expect much and you will be much happier. I have loved most of the PS Plus games, and wouldn’t have honestly played them otherwise. Let’s be honest, who would have bought Rocket League without knowing anything about it? Glad folks got it and it took off.

    • No matter what people get for free, they always expect more or to have it some how catered to them directly. I find much more joy in life in general appreciating things for what they are rather than being disappointed at what they are not.

  • I’m always happy with the line up.I can’t believe how so people cry they want this they want that, for god sake it free didnt you remember. If we never have gotten these free games you would still buy the plus subscription just to play online.

  • Not the best games; haven’t had any hyped games in a while.

  • Very satisfying PlayStation. I hope next month is the same.

  • P.s.
Just because they are free games doesn’t mean everyone has to like them. I agree there is no point in complaining but you can’t hate on people for having a negative opinion on the games. Like i mentioned, the free games used to have more bite to them. New hyped games would debut and be free: outlast, strider, infamous first light, rocket league, ect. These days its more unknown old niche games that are hard for people go get excited about.

  • Thanks sony??? Whats wrong with those people? Clearly playstation ***** on every costumer’s face. Im sorry, but there’s no other way to say it. You only give away garbage that cannot give you money anymore. Stop laughing at us.

  • I just want to say Thanks! I enjoy playing my PS4 online, and the free games are icing on the cake. Furi looks really interesting.

  • Great selection this month, the only problem is I already own some of them. Oh well, at least we know Sony has great taste

  • Ugh. Another awful month for PS+. Remind me why I’m paying $20/month again? I admit the only reason I pay for PS+ is to play online games with my friends (Overwatch, Destiny) but I do enjoy the free games sometimes… when they’re actually good games offered. Seriously, give us a really good set of games for once Sony. Nothing in this month’s lineup even remotely appeals to me. Give us something fun like Tales from the Borderlands (the whole game recently came out on disc, but I would love to see it offered in the PS+ free lineup) or some of the good titles that have come out in recent years like say, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. Good AAA games like that would have me nabbing them for free in a heartbeat.

  • Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines looks interesting, thanks.

  • I was going to buy Furi after seeing it at E3, Thank you Sony and The Game Bakers.

  • OMG Best Vita month EVER.

  • Considering that I was already eyeing the purchase of Furi since is ps4 release trailer I think you did me a great solid Playstation. Been telling my friend about this game for the longest, now they can enjoy it as well. Thx Sony!

  • this is by far the best month in ages. pretty stoked about Gat out of Hell, Call of Juarez, and Fat Princess. I already have Oreshika, and it looks much nicer than the game is fun, but it’s okay. and at 35 my fingers are stating to slow down so I won’t be doing too much with Furi, as I just can’t do twitchy bullet hell games. though it looks fun enough, and it’s pretty for sure.

though Sony – you need to STOP WITH THE PSP TITLES. you’re being cheap. on purpose. to your PAYING CUSTOMERS. you have TWENTY ONE MILLION active subscribers. you can afford better.

you can afford to treat your Vita users better. you’ve treated us like red-headed stepchildren already. you could be a little nice to us when it comes to PS+ and stop giving out ancient PSP games.

but good show to the rest of the lineup, can’t wait til next week.

  • Thanks for 3D shooter i saint row

  • This is an all around solid month. Good job :)

  • UnitedUnderUtada

An OKish month in my opinion. Furi has my interest. Not too excited by Call of Juarez though, there are easily a mountain of games I can think of that I would’ve liked instead. My biggest gripe would have to be Prince of Persia. Offering another PSP game that is over a decade old and trying to pass it off as a vita game is absolutely shameful. The best two games this month, Gat and Oreshika, are games that I already own. Both are great and I can’t praise you guys enough for offering the latter one.

  • I definitely appreciate the incentive games each month, whether I have the intention of playing them now or later, but please, PLEASE stop replacing a Vita title with an older PSP game. There’s such a huge library to pick from. Show the Vita some love.

  • Actually, this is not a bad line-up for this month. Furi looks good, and I’ve been wanting to give Oreshika a try. The only thing here that upsets me is that they’re trying to pass off another PSP game as a native Vita game. At the very least they could acknowledge that Prince of Persia is, in fact, a PSP game. Ever since they’ve started doing that, I’ve gotten the sense that they are trying to insult our intelligence. But it is what it is. I don’t have it and I’ll get around to playing it just the same. Anyway, I was wondering if someone could tell me what is the difference between Saint’s Row Re-Elected, and Gat Out of Hell?

  • Oreshika is the first game in a while that’s free on PS+ that I plan to get. But this lineup looks like it should make some people really happy.

  • this game is fun until i got banned for killing a microsoft agent in gta5 lol

  • Can’t believe people are complaining, Furi is a brand new game, and it looks GREAT, man some people are never happy, and saint’s row is a good game too.

  • TERRIBLE month! How about something decent for a change, like Firewatch or The Witness???

  • Needs a little balance here.

First off the games you get each month are *not* free, you are paying for them with you subscription. Anyone care to do the math on how much money Sony takes in from subscribers each month? If they were *free*, you could just ask Sony to give them to you anyway – and when you have done that, nip down to you local supermarket and take a bite out of all the ‘free 10%’ chocolate bars (ref: ‘Adam and Joe!’).
So, you are paying Sony for the *free games* – you are not just paying to keep the servers running (it would be one hell of a fat profit for Sony if that were the case) – you are paying a subscription for a *whole* service.

However, Sony have no obligation to provide any particular quality of service. This is a consumer fed beast. So, if you do not like, simply un-subscribe. This is the language that a multinational company listens to – not winging on a blog – do you *really* think that Sony gives a damn about your opinion regarding this (or any other) month’s offering? Does not work that way.

As a consumer you have the right to not buy a product if you do not like it. If you pay, few companies listen to anything after the dying ka-ching of the cash register.

    • In Sony’s defence it is unreasonable to expect AAA games every month, or to cater for every greedy beak in the nest. This is especially true in the first half of a consol’s life cycle, when the back catalogue is not large enough to support it and when the games are still new enough to be bringing in a profit. Here is something else to consider – if you are winging because you do not like the game that is part of your monthly subscription (AKA ‘Free’ game) – isn’t there a logic you are missing? – If it is a game that you really want, wouldn’t you have bought it at some point before it was ‘given away’? So does this not lead naturally to there being a potential for more games that you do not like to appear?

I agree that the lineup has been lacklustre for many months – or at least since paying for a one year subscription. However, by the end of the year I expect it to be a good investment and I should have accrued enough games to justify my cash. Oh yeah, I can also get my ass kicked daily on Destiny too.

  • This is a great line up! Can’t wait to download them. Always excited for the new month because of these.

  • There is a solution, and it is one that happily Sony seems to be investing in. The solution is to use a fair proportion of what is a sizeable income each month to invest in the production of new games specifically for Plus members. Is this where Furi fits in?
If Plus member thought that part of their subscription was being invested in studios to bring out potentially risk-taking an innovative games every few months, then simply no one would have anything to moan about (although, of course, they would).
Even if you did not like the games being produced in this way, you would be supporting the gaming industry, keeping people in jobs and supporting innovation.

..and yes, Sony would come out looking like heroes.

    ….which is good business!

  • Honestly, I don’t know why people complain. Do you complain to McDonald’s too because your coupon gives you a free burger you don’t like? Furi looks cool and launches next week, how can people not be excited about that? Or the early access and starter pack for paragon? And Gat out of hell can give you hours of entertainment, I mean, who doesn’t like killing demons and blowing things up?

  • Don’t fancy any of these as i already have POP and the others arent my thing. I’d rather Sony put the effort into making psn work better.

  • If I didn’t already own Oreshika (bought during a sale) I would be excited about this, but still a quality offering for the PS Vita. Fat Princess is kind of a BS offering.
Furi looks interesting and I’ll probably check it out. gat Out of Hell not too interested in. Relatively, a decent offering for most platforms this month. Keep em coming, Sony. Earn that $60 I shell out for this each year…

  • gotta say man I am satisfied sony :>)))

  • gotta say man I am satisfied sony

  • Now this is good, about to buy Saints Row from the Mid-year sale. Furi looks nice too but does it have trophy?

  • Nooice. Two of the rad games I already own, but the others look pretty sweet too.

  • Just wondering but from the videos I’ve watched on Furi is it just boss fights in a circle room for each level and then automated videos that move you onto the next level? Every video I’ve seen doesn’t show any other gameplay besides the circle arena boss fights.

  • Great month! Awesome that we get Furi as it looks pretty cool. Seems to be one of those games I wouldn’t buy, but once I play it, I would have liked to support the dev with a purchased copy. Also if I like it, I always keep my eye on their next game.

This also might make me fire up my PS3 and play some Fatty P. That game is crazy fun when playing with a full lobby of people and not bots. Really wish they would revive that MP on the PS4 with a sequel. The adventures game didn’t do it for me, I need PvP!

Also cool that Paragon will be open for Plus peeps. I already bought a founders pack and the essentials disc version. Super addicted to that game right now. If you like PvP competitive games (or playing against bots) check it out! There is a learning curve, but once you ‘get it’ the game is very fun. Epic is doing an outstanding job communicating with the community and making changes to the game.

PS Plus is totally worth $50 a year. Can’t believe what some of you expect for your $4.17 each month. Like really, it’s 4 dollars and seventeen cents!!! It’s sad that you guys expect amazeballs for your dollar menu lunch money. Laters

  • I just finished saints row 3 with my friend, it was fun also free from plus now i get another one for free, actually i am satisfied with this month. . . . . . . By the way a lot of PSP games are great if you try them and prince of persia is very nice

  • These past few months been amazing with their PS plus line ups

  • I think Playstation should tell the free games line up for the next 2-3 months in advance. It can piss people off when they just buy a game and it becomes a free psn game. Plus it can benefit playstation as well as some people who would be about to unsubscribe to the psn might stick around longer if they see a free game they might be interested in. So its a win-win situation.

  • i think sony should now give huge PS3 AAA titles in these line ups as it is now an old console and the only time i would feel like going back to it is if it offers some awesome games which the Fat princess isn’t. Might give a shot to Juarez though. Reminds me a bit of RDR.

  • So pretty much if you subscribe to both Playstation Plus and Playstation Now you are always getting screwed over because a lot of free games are already on PS Now

  • OK wonder what’s Furi about? The rest I already have

  • Might dust off my vita tho.

    • MarthaStewart209

I have to agree, seriously excited about that Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines, PS Vita, I have had my eye on that one for a while. I am ready for that one next week :)

  • This is one of the best months in a while. I’ve been meaning to try both of the PS4 games.

  • wth sony. we already have call of juarez bound in blood. we had it a while back for a ps plus game. this lineup isnt very good, and we already got fat princess as well. seriously some new games would be nice not ones that have already been out for ps plus.

    • Gunslinger and Bound in Blood are two different games. Part of the same series, but they’re still two different games. Also, you misremember: Fat Princess was never given away by Plus before.
