BlazBlue: Central Fiction Limited Edition Announced, DLC Details

Danny Miscevich's Avatar Posted by Sr. Sales and Marketing Manager, Aksys Games

Behold, 2D titans! Aksys Games and Arc System Works proudly announce the BlazBlue: Central Fiction Limited Edition and launch DLC details!

Exclusive to PS4 and PS3 and set to release simultaneously alongside the standard edition this November, the limited edition of the latest BlazBlue entry boasts a gaggle of great content.

What’s in the booox?! Let’s take a closer look…

  • Deluxe Hardcover Art Book — Contains 100 pages of BlazBlue art celebrating the history of gaming’s flashiest 2D fighting series!
  • Mini Noel Vermillion Nendoroid Figure — Supervised by Toshimichi Mori and forged by the masters at Good Smile. Noel strikes an iconic pose, sure to mesmerize collectors and fans alike!
  • BlazBlue Song Interlude III Soundtrack — Ten tracks of in-game goodness bound to up your fighting drive!

A new challenger approaches! The mysterious Es of Xblaze fame joins the fray, ready to lend her brawly talents to eager fighters. Es, Guardian of the Azure and sometimes known as the Mediator, carves out her own unique spot on the roster.

A cursory glance at Es reveals her suite of standard normals and specials which form the foundation of her attack arsenal. While Es can be played as a straightforward beat stick, she has the ability to enhance her special moves, offering inventive fighters strategic flexibility.

Her drive, “Crest Arts”, transforms the trail of her sword into a massive avalanche of doom which gives her devastating attack power during offensive strikes. More hits = more pain. Tricky players can also utilize her drive’s time lag to put opponents in sticky defensive situations and force them to make hasty decisions.

Es will be available for download for free on PlayStation Store for the first two weeks after launch day and available for purchase beyond the promo window. She’ll be available for both the PS4 and PS3 versions. Don’t miss out on Es, the limited edition, and the final chapter of the BlazBlue saga!

I understand your need to get the game out as quickly as possible. But, I am very curious as to what’s causing such localization and dubbing delays when these delays weren’t there with the first few Blazblue games (which Aksys handled) or even Guilty Gear Xrd Sign (which it seems Strangely Compelling handled). Especially to the tune of 6-8 months.

I would be…”okay” with waiting that amount of time if it really came down to it, though having it close to when Japan gets it is very nice. However, we’ve had our cake and eaten it too pretty much until recently. What happened? What changed? It’s not really fair to the consumer to take out/not include such a hefty piece of the game experience and still expect people to pay you the same amount of money anyway.

You gotta do what you gotta do, I suppose. And I’m not sure if I’m even off the buying boat yet. But, let’s just say that I’m GREATLY in favor of you guys patching in a dub for REVELATOR and BBCF later if you can swing it.

I bought the collector’s edition of the first Blaze Blue. It was pretty cool. Would love an RPG with these characters or an adventure story. That said, looks like a cool new title. :)

For those coming here. Aksys said start a petition to get an English Dub for the game on Twitter.

Direct quote from AksysGames

“@aksysgames 2. An English dub is possible, but sometimes devs need extra convincing. Petitions, fan pages, etc all help. Fan communities”

I’m fine with the Japanese voices, for the most part. I’ve experienced both the Story mode and fighting in both Languages. I prefer English, but Japanese isn’t so bad…with one exception, in my opinion.

Platinum’s Japanese Voice. It sounds like she’s using a Distortion Drive every time she attacks. I’ve tried to enjoy it but I just can’t. I always go back to the English voices when I want to play Platinum, who is one of my 3 favourite characters. I hope Aksys hears about this, gives us the game day one, and drops an “English Voices” dlc. I’d gladly pay extra money.

Four petitions are live and one already has nearly 2,000 supporters. Altogether over 2,000 supporters. If you google search BlazBlue the petition is one of the first things that shows up. Please show your support.

Remember this does not delay the game, but actually gets the English Dub added later either in a patch or as DLC.

I would have been more excited if the game still had an english dub like all of the other games in the series. I will probably only get it if they announce that they will be working on a dub, now, even if they do a remake like the EXTEND games and include it then. I would have been perfectly fine waiting up to a year or more longer to play if I was able to play it in english dub like the rest of the series. Also, for those who didn’t know, there is a petition going on right now being sponsored by at least THREE of the BlazBlue english VAs from previous games. It currently has over 3000 signatures and they have no real minimum goal for it. Here is a link:

I played blazblue with both Japanese dub and English dub, I preferred the English dub. It was because of the English dub, that I got into blazblue in the first place. The Japanese dub was alright but I felt that the English dub gave more emotion and life to the characters. I hope they add a dub patch or dlc. In all honesty I think that delaying the game is a good thing, I mean look at the line up of game that are coming out through October and November. I think it would have been best for the game.

On another note. Will we be getting the ps4 theme of blazblue central fiction? I saw what it look like and it’s pretty cool. Hope we can get it.
