Hello, PlayStation Plus members! We’re happy to reveal your free PS4 games for September, 2016. This month you can slash your way through demonic hordes, or journey across the ruins of a forgotten civilization. Let’s get started!

First up is Journey. The talented developers at thatgamecompany bring us the critically acclaimed adventure and winner of numerous Game of the Year awards. Finding yourself alone in the desert, you must make your way to the mountaintop. But there’s so much more to this sublime experience than simply traversing the world. With stunning visuals, an amazing soundtrack, and a unique online experience, don’t miss the very special experience that is Journey.

Next up is Lords of the Fallen. Looking for redemption for past sins, you play as Harkyn and try to end a war between humans and the gods. With three classes to choose from, you can tailor the combat experience to your liking. And in a game where every encounter matters and your choices have consequences, the layers of customization are an integral part of the action. So collect your gear and prepare for close-quarters combat as you take the fight to the demon lords.

    Now this is a list. I’ll give Journey a chance. :) If Sony can continue to provide us good stuff every month, I’ll continue being a member.

    lords of the fallen is great if you’re up at 3 am and just can’t get to sleep, it will put you to sleep in 10 minutes flat

    Great month, look forward to playing Journey again and Lords of the Fallen is a game that interests me enough to try out but that I likely never would have played otherwise. Way to come through in the clutch, could have been ugly. Also solid Innovators sale, no insane deals but a lot of quality titles at decent discounts.

    I’m excited about getting Journey on PS4. I was just thinking about missing this game and that I should do something about it.

    I’d really like to see some XSeed Games show up PS Plus for Vita. Particularly Legends of Heroes: Trails in the Sky from PSP. What do you got to lose?

    Heh. Lords of the Fallen is free on PS+ this time. Sadly I just do not like that game.

    I love Journey though. Short, but beautiful with high emotion.

    I feel like Datura was free before. Maybe not from +. Was it from the monthly magazine? Not sure which in the story that particular Prince of Persia is. Kind of hoping it was the most recent one.

    Badlands I am unfamiliar with and Amesia I think my wife has.

    Overall a rather mixed bag. A Western RPG, a sort of zen exploration game, action/adventure game, a music one, not sure and a visual novel.

      This is exactly the kind of month I like from plus. Variety in the titles and not stuck on one genre. I enjoyed Amnesia and Journey. Haven’t played the others but have a pretty good idea what I will get from Prince of Persia. I know some people are stuck on the AAA thing but I just like a choice of different style of games as I pretty much play everything except online FPS and fighting games (though my son likes those). As long as we don’t get in a rut of the same type of games continuously (like the odd fighting games stretch or too many puzzle games) I’m good. My backlog is big enough not to worry about it.

      On October 2014, Sony sent me an email rewarding my fidelity with a code redeemable for Datura, inFamous, Starhawk, Unit 13 and ModNation Racers Road Trip.

      Maybe you received the same email and misremember Datura having been free before?

    LotF is a great game imho. Its not AS great as dark souls or bloodborne, but it has the feel of if darksiders and dark souls had a baby together. I had a lot of fun with LotF. Not complaining, I’ll repeat, NOT complaining, just saying: journey was already free a while back. And yes, it carried over to PS4 users who snagged it when it was free on PS3. But whatever, I guess. All in all, looks like a better month than we’ve been seeing. Still not what it was before PS4 came out, but that’s pretty much a general consensus in regards to that opinion. Nothing for me, but there’s plenty for those who haven’t already played the titles mentioned above. maybe badland or amnesia for vita. might research it

    Bad month, Lords of the Fallen sucks and Journey has been on sale for 3 bucks. Sony man, you raise prices, then deliver this garbage. You are getting cocky like the old days, pride commeth before a fall.

    Fiddles just bought lords of the fallen… glad i paid 5 dollars for it…

    but Amnesia: Memories and journey is exciting at least. Don’t know much about the other games though.

    For some weird reason I have Journey on PS4 I did not pay for it for PS4 because I have beaten it on PS3 years ago and would never buy the same title twice. This game has been Free for Plus members before I just can not remember when it was but do know it was in the past 2 years.

      lol yeah it’s crossbuy. I left almost the exact same comment, m8. I knew I remembered it being free on Ps4 then looked it up to see that it was cross-buy and hence free for me.

    Great Month! I loved journey on ps3. Lord of the Fallen is good title, although not as challenging as dark souls, but hey its AAA title. Keep this up and no regrets for paying $10 extra!

    Perfect lineup I’ve always wanted to play Journey and Lords of the fallen that remind me to Dark souls and im a big fan of that game… Great month!

    Finally a decent month. Though I don]t know anyone who has not played journey and has ps3 or 4 since it has already been given on plus numerous times, and if you own a Xbox then you already got LOTF. But I guess for those who don’t it is a decent month, but sadly nothing for me. Like always I am disappointed with the vita. I mean Badlands was an IOS game! There is such an awesome library on vita I just expect more I guess. Oh well, Hopefully ps+ keeps it at this quality or better since they are raising the price.

    amazing month for all people with 3 consoles really good deal. will pick up Amnesia, Journey, Badland and Prince of Persia. dont know about Lords of the fallen though as i just won God Eater 2 for ps4 on the Bandai Namco Facebook Page. and i might watch some gameplay of Datura

      from what i saw of datura in the first 5mins i met add it to my library and leave it there until i feel like doing the weird stuff that i dont know what is happening. SO MANY GAMES WITH STORIES I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THEM.

    Journey is a well loved classic and a really good game to just sit down with for a bit, definitely a great pick, lords of the fallen is also good as far as value goes. The vita games are actual vita games and not PSP games so that is brilliant, and with a prince of Persia on ps3 theres some really nice heft in this month. This is definitely a great month

    Damn, I own Journey and Lords of the Fallen already. Great games, which is why I own them. I typically don’t have the games they give away, and it’s only happened one other time that i owned the game already. Oh well, I can still enjoy the other games free on PS3 at least. Always nice when they mix it up and give different genres, gives me a chance to try something new.

    I’ve had my eye on Journey for years but never took the plunge.

    Both Badlands and Amnesia are PSTV Compatible! Thank you Sony and the developers!

    Lords of the Fallen has looked interesting, so glad it’s on there.

    Prince of Persia will be a great addition on my PS3s.

    Lords of the Fallen isn’t great, but for free it’s better than a kick in the Charlies. Journey looks awesome though, I’ve been tempted by that for a while, now let’s see if I can put NMS down long enough to check it out…

    Journey! Never played it. Am hoping this is a good trip.

    Although I did see it on a PSN sale a few times in the past month or two. Its kind of weak to throw any ‘on sale’ games as a free game after the fact.

    I dont doubt the overall value over the course of a year, but for 60 bucks a year, the subscription needs to up some value definitely throw something AAA on a regular basis.

      If they never put “on sale” games on the PS+ lineup, then there would be no games to download. Every game has gone one sale now and then, store or digital. It’s very close to impossible to avoid it.

      I understand your request for AAA, so far they have been more in the lineup then prior. Who knows what next month brings. But this month has 3 depending on your definition of Lords of the Fallen.

    WoW… this month almost makes up for several luckluster ones. I have Journey already, but never got around to getting Lords of the fallen on either PS or Steam, so now I’ll actualy play it :) heck, I’ll likely play both of the Vita games as well. almost makes up for that upcoming Ps Plus price hike.

    Instead of getting Sony picked free games every month PS Plus members should get “Free Points” every month instead. We can spend those Free Points to download any game for free. Every game in the PS Store should have a Free Points [FP] cost associated with it, set by the developer. We the consumer can choose to keep collecting free points over months to unlock better titles. This would prevent Sony releasing games that you already have or beat. Would you guys think? Is it possible to do?

    Wow, people are complaining about getting a two year old AAA game on PS4 (Lords of the Fallen), but then laud Microsoft for giving away an eight year old AAA game (Mirror’s Edge) on Xbox360. The shills in here aren’t being very subtle.

      On PlayStation you have to pay an additional charge for PlayStation now to be able to play mirrors edge

      My additional charge was $5 when it went on sale a while back. As long as PSNow is account locked and won’t allow others on my PS4 to use it, I’ll pass. I say this sadly as I think it would be a good go but my kids play on their own profiles on my 1 PS4. If buying a subscription to PSNow was accessible by all profiles on my 1 device, I would likely get it in a heartbeat but I’m not buying multiple subscriptions for my family to all be able to access it.

    Journey’s great, Lords of the Fallen could be interesting, then PoP (though actually, Journey’s the only one I can’t play on my PC, so…but still, free)

    Hopefully we get the 3 other PoP games in 2-3 months.

    Amnesia Memories is a steal……a decent Otome game….I recommend Code Realize over it though. Norn9 please next month :)

    Badland…Insanly Hard Platinum….will play it for fun.

    Datura….easy 100 percent…never heard of it. Thanks for bringing it to the light.

    Lords of the Fallen and Journey..the games that will decide the month for many. Great games to have in the backlog…may not play them.

    Hoping Journey does come on the Vita…..will wait patiently especially now that the game is free on Plus.
