PS Plus: Free Games for November 2016

Happy Halloween! We’re happy to share the upcoming free PS Plus games for November 2016.

First up this month we have Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture. The talented developers at The Chinese Room bring us the spiritual successor to Dear Esther. Set in a small, deserted English town, players search for clues to uncover what happened to all of its missing inhabitants. This is a beautiful game with an incredible soundtrack that we hope you enjoy.

Next up is The Deadly Tower of Monsters. Have you ever wanted to play through your favorite sci-fi B-movie? Of course you have! That’s exactly what Atlus and ACE team have made with this game. Add in a clever director’s commentary and there’s a lot to enjoy about revisiting this cooky cult classic.

Full lineup:

  • Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, PS4
  • The Deadly Tower of Monsters, PS4
  • Dirt 3, PS3
  • Costume Quest 2, PS3
  • Letter Quest Remastered, PS Vita (Cross buy with PS4)
  • Pumped BMX+, PS Vita (Cross buy with PS4 and PS3)

We’ll see you in the comments section. Enjoy.

Thanks for free games, guys. Despite a lot of the comments above me, some of us are grateful. Keep up the good work!

Gotta love those “free games” that cost your money every month…. Idiot.

    • @ Nex_Inter_Nos – The idiot here is you that don’t know how to count.Usually one month of free games already pays your subscription…especially if you have the yearly subscription.

If you think these aren’t free games…I wanna see you buy all the games given for free in a year with $60 dollars.Get real dawg…you cant see a meter in front of your nose.

    • They are not free. You pay to play them. Because when your plus subscription runs out it is over. Unless Sony changed it.

  • RudeAnimat0r

I’m a big fan of the lineup this month. Both PS4 titles have been on my radar but there are so many interesting indie games now I can’t buy them all. In fact, there are far more indie games of interest to me then there are retail, and the few retail I generally buy on my own anyway.

Might have to dust off the PS3 to give Costume Quest 2 a spin as well.

This is a great line up. I love Playstation plus and Now, Playstation gives me what I want every month I look forward to playing these Plus games every month only down fall is time but it’s awesome I know I have these games in my library i can go to and play when I have some free time. I’ve been wanting Everyone Gone to the Rapture and Monster Tower and now I got them with Plus. also these games are pretty much free because when you add up how much they are in the PSN store and the 6 games you get yea by the time you buy all these games it would be close to that price. also I’m still paying 49.99 so I’m not sure where the +$10 went into effect but I feel I get my money’s worth. keep up the great work Playstation.

Just watched reviews of the above games on Youtube. I laughed so hard a bit of wee came out. How can you possibly want to play any of these games when there are 8 bit games that are far superior? Oh, and don’t give me any crap about how lucky we are to have free games and discounts. The discounts are minimal and if you play solo then the games are a purchase, not free. Up until this year the games were ok. We didn’t get to keep them if we stopped paying for PS Plus but they were ok. Now, they are at best pitiful and at worst a highlight on Sony’s disregard and contempt for their customers. S. D. M. F.

    • Glad to see someone talking sense, you can’t say anything against PS on here without everyone jumping down your throat for it.

Like you said the games aren’t free.

I don’t dislike all the games, The Deadly Tower of Monsters I’ll give a try and Dirt 3 is ok just a shame I already have it but Costume Quest 2! Feels like a right kick in the balls, it felt like an insult when Xbox gave it away on games with gold and somehow it feels like a bigger insult PS have followed suit. I’m going to try Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture again but I tried it at EGX and not really into walking sims, its got to be the only game I’ve ever played at EGX which bored me.

Oh and btw now that Xbox have put Murdered Soul Suspect in they’re lineup, PS have dropped it to 4 quid. Decent price but I wouldn’t be suprised if that ends up a PS Plus game in the next month or two after discounting it so much.

For those yet to play Everyone’s Gone To The Rapture, I really hope The Chinese Room adjusted the walking/sprinting speed in a later patch. I played and finished it when it first released, and I recall backtracking feeling incredibly tedious. As for the other offerings, I always try to keep an open mind to games I’ve not seen/played yet, so I’m reserving judgment until I get some hands on time (cautiously optimistic?).

However, I can’t help but think that people’s expectations (and subsequent criticism) will grow sharper as their PS+ memberships expire and the $10 price bump gets truly noticed. Yes, it’s only an .80 or so bump a month, but there should be a discernible benefit from paying more, whether on the PS+ games/discounts front, or a more reliable network/multiplayer experience. If there isn’t visible improvement, they may just be adding a nail to their coffin, should the newly iterative console cycles push more of the Playstation faithful in the PC direction (where outside of MMOs, multiplayer costs only as much as internet access).

  • Fantastic lineup of games.

  • Meh.

I’ve tried both Rapture and Costume Quest 2… both are very mediocre at best. Too bad really, the original Costume Quest was a fantastic little game.

    • Costume Quest 2 gets better, I promise! I too was disappointed with the first hour, but fell back in love with it once things started moving great along!

  • dauntingcookie

Third month in a row I get to cross something off my wishlist without spending money. Thanks Sony.

P.S. Give us week 2 of the Sale of the Dead early :D

  • LeandroDiFini

Even though is worse than last month when I dowloaded Resident Evil, Transformers and Actual Sunlight, this month is not bad at all. If it wasn’t for the fact that I’ve already purchased Everybody is Going to The Rapture (classic…), I’d be excited for it, plus, The Deadly Tower of Monsters looks really great and Letter Quest seems like a sweet Vita game. I’ll even give a shot to BMX…
Overall, a good month in my opinion.

  • aaron_bush_96

4 PS4 games 2 PSvita games and 3 PS3 games YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. dirt 3 is great, everybody goes to the rapture perfect and and the rest well i dont really know but great stuff.

  • Whine whine whine whine whine. What a self-entitled bunch of children.

    • People pay for the service, they’re entitled to whine if they don’t like the selection. These aren’t birthday presents.

    • BuffaloNugget

Self-entitled children, or consumers expecting value for services they’ve purchased?

  • Maverick6146

A LOL month for me, especially after they bump the overall price

  • P.S. If you’re paying the full $60 for PS Plus and complaining about the extra $10, you’re doing it wrong. PS Plus goes on sale many times a year. If the 83 cents a month is that important to you, put SOME effort into saving on your membership. Your laziness isn’t Sony’s fault.

  • What a lousy line up. Really starting to hesitate to renew my plus subscription.

  • Been wanting Costume Quest 2 for some time now, glad I hesitated, although I’m sure it’s worth its price.

Letter Quest, I’ve got on my Wii U eSHOP wishlist but had been waiting to buy it, too.

Great timing for both those games on Plus!

  • andrewb2185

All these people asking for Watch Dogs…. play it, then you’ll have something to actually complain about

  • The Deadly Tower of Monsters is one of the best indie games I have ever played.

  • I’m very disaponted…A (weak) Walking simulator??

I really think that December should have the best free games of the year…every year…If they fail with me again good by PS+ for me…

  • MonsterMonkeyJK

Not good games, Sony jacks up PS plus price, psn is down like every other day for last month and a half then on top off that gives crap games everyone. Made the right decision to cancel my plus before September.

  • The only reason I have Plus right now… Battlefield 1… and early next year I’ll be upgrading my PC so…. yeah.

  • Costume Quest 2!! Got 100% on the PS4 version, gonna knock this one out too!

  • samuel09639

I feel as though we should vote as a whole and bring it to Sony’s attention that we don’t appreciate these games at all.

  • Sorry for asking a stupid question but new to PSN what does cross buy mean ( near the ps vita games )

  • Another month of mediocre PS+ games. Why am I paying for this service?

  • FeLiPe_MachiN3

Thanks dear Sony for keeping me saving money and giving me reasons not to renew your crappy PS+ Sub.

  • YoungBlaise

I was trying to see the good in this list but nothing really catches my interest. I dont even want to add them to my cart lol.
Here’s hoping for Santa Clause to be in charge next month in December.

  • paperwarior

I also think it’s a downgrade from last month. Deadly Tower of Monsters should be fun. Rapture could be good. Costume Quest 2 is old and PS3. Even if I personally don’t have it a lot of the interested audience will. And I’ve only heard bad things about Letter Quest, making Vita’s situation this month truly unfortunate. And there isn’t the usual completely new and unknown game as far as I can tell.

  • Nooice! Deadly towers demo was pretty cool, & ive been wanting to try rapture.

  • DarkflareEX

Another month of shovelware. Another month I don’t have to worry about using up space.

  • yet another walking simulator beloved by the social justice indie clique.

I don’t expect AAA games every month, but seriously STOP WITH THE WALKING SIMULATORS.

there should be a certain level of interactivity required to even be considered a game, and walking around and looking at **** in an uninteractive world shouldn’t be it.

  • Just finished watching reviews of all of these games for this months lineup. Gotta ask, what exactly is Sony doing with that extra 10 buck they’re getting from us PSPlus members? Cause it’s not giving us better games. What the hell?

  • Wow another 2 games i wont play thats 19 out of 20 games i aint played give us free mp sick of the rich getting richer because of crap like this have 2 pay 4 online no u keep ur games give us free ps plus see how many people pay the 40 quid a month wont be many with the crap they give us

  • Wow I’m so glad I have an Xbox one!!!!

  • islandloafer340

I bought a year of ps plus back in August, but if the lineups continue to be this terrible, I’m definitely not renewing it. Thanks Sony for charging $10 dollars more for a service that constantly goes offline and offers garbage free games.

  • While not every month can have a AAA game in there, we really need to start seeing what we used to get back in the golden days of PS+. If this is where we are going to continue to get then Id much rather see Sony go back to the old system where AAA games sat there for months and only a couple of games were added and subtracted a month.

That being said, Ive wanted to play Everybody’s Gone To Rapture since every critic seemed to have really enjoyed it. But Sony, please consider using the system to give us fewer but better games.

  • Oh wow, the $10 increase… even if it all went towards your free games.. that would be $0.83 a month… just quit the service if u have to complain this much about free games… oh wait you won’t quit.. u just like to complain.. like someone already said… this is a $5/month service.. and u want free $60 games every single month.. Goodluck with that AnyWhere…

    • Lizardking_8989

People still have the right to complain regardless of how much it costs per day. You’re paying for a service, you’re a customer and have every right to voice your satisfaction. I think people have a reason to complain this month. When you compare these games to the ones we got last month these are awful.

    • I am with you there Lizarking! These people sound as dictators.

  • Nex_Inter_Nos

Garbage, garbage and garbage. Seriously? Another twin stick shooter, this is literally the 13th one on the ps4 psplus subscription song with our 9nth adventure title. They are inferior representations of those genres to boot. The highest scoring game this month is a paltry 75 on metacritic. What a bunch of turds. Disappointing.

  • The reason WHY this weak games are on PS Plus is for YOU to focus or buy the new game like COD IW, Titanfall 2 or any new game that is coming soon.

  • BuffaloNugget

I already have all these games… Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, Deadly Tower of Monsters, and Costume Quest 2. I have them all!!

So this is what we’re doing in PS Plus games now… offering deep discounts in the months prior to it for Plus members, so saps like me buy them, then offer them free! It’s not right. Really feeling the value of Plus going away.

    • I’d argue that it’s just bad luck, except I’ve seen it happen multiple times this year. The month prior to a game going PS+, it will be on sale for a really deep discount. Maybe it is intentional.

  • PSVR free games please!

  • ii_dark_blood

At least some new games I personally don’t think I will ever buy so it’s a good lineup this time for ME

  • Lizardking_8989

Hate to ***** and moan and rarely do when it comes to these free games but compared to last month’s lineup (which was incredible) this month blows…hard.

Also, LOL @ the people threatening to buy an Xbone, go ahead you’ll probably just complain when you don’t get the free games you want there too.

  • We all know that you don’t like the ps vita but please give it some love for the people that support it PLEASE

    • Meh, just jump ship when the switch comes out. That’s what I plan on doing. I’m done with the whole “Vote with your wallet, prove that the system is worth their time” nonsense. That’s not how this should work. I shouldn’t feel compelled to buy mediocre games I have little to no interest in to prove to developers that it’s worth their time to develop for it. If they don’t want to develop for the system, then fine, I’m done supporting it with my wallet.

  • DiRT 3 is alright, though I already have it… I’ve heard that the Monster Tower thing is an easy platinum, so there’s that…

Not looking like the best of months.

  • And now it’s back to nothing more than just indie game this and indie game that. Do they even care about us PS Plus subscribers anymore?

  • And now it’s back to nothing more than just indie game this and indie game that. Do they even care about us PS Plus subscribers anymore?

  • So, let me get this straight. Yall raised the price of PS Plus, jjust to give us trash in return? Sony is wrong with this lmao. They’re probably laughing at us right now

  • SegaSaturn617

    I guess lol

  • Looks like a fun month for PS4. Vita looks okay. So great month.

  • This is disappointing

  • My bad, his games are really bad..
I mean It’s okay if they were for android or a mobile device, but for PS4?…

I can’t help but think that the people that say things like “perfect month” or “GREAT LINEUP”
are sony bots or people from sony for not getting too much hate on the comments.. i mean, really?..
