The Drop: New PlayStation Games for 11/8/2016

Ryan Clements's Avatar Posted by Senior Specialist, SIEA Social Media

Emily Kaldwin and Corvo Attano stalk the shadows of a new city. The alleys, rooftops, and clockwork mansions of coastal Karnaca are a silent battlefield for our heroes. And come November 11, you can join their fight and take back what’s yours.

Dishonored 2 launches next week Friday on PS4, continuing the story of its critically acclaimed predecessor. Use a variety of deadly gadgets and shadowy powers to eliminate Emily and Corvo’s enemies and topple a corrupt power plaguing the city of Karnaca. Player choice is paramount, and many paths — some bloody, others less so — will lead you to the end.

For a full list of new games coming to PlayStation next week, read on. And enjoy the Drop!

I like that the Drop is on a Friday. Should keep it that way…and add official youtube trailer links because 90% of us go to YouTube after we see games we never heard of.

    Fuhr31 said:

    November 4th, 3:35 pm

Ive been trying for so long to get them to link to some kind of preview or trailer. Even some screen shots would be more useful. But as it sits now, i simply ignore games i dont know, Why look it up if they aren’t even willing to try. Lost sales for sure.

Woah, early drop. Is this a permanent change? Kind of exciting, if so.

I don’t like this Friday game release trend, its kind of annoying… but that’s the publishers faults. Dishonored 2 looks nice. IF Robinson is good, i’ll get it.

I rarely post here, but I logged in just to post exactly this. All these other games come out Tuesday of the week but ohhhh no the triple a titles everyone is excited for just has to make us wait the extra three days. I’m very friggin tired of the Friday crap too

AliciaDarky said:

Shoot! Root Letter (that has a Special Edition that looks awesome), Robinson and Eagle Flight!? Wish I didn’t like many genres -.-.

Is the PS Vita version of Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization not coming out next week?

Reportedly, the game is supposed to be set for a PSN-only Vita release in North America, and on both digital and retail over in Europe.

    Tjoeb123 said:

    November 4th, 5:03 pm

He probably forgot to put it in, which would also explain why it was not mentioned in the Blogcast.

Early drop is cool but what will I be looking forward to on sundays then? :(

    Trendy_Kid said:

    November 4th, 4:37 pm

I feel your pain! They don’t really post on weekends, so maybe you can just wait until Sunday to look?

    LeMatster said:

No way I’m going to wait ;) I’m a little addicted to gaming news.

Kevvik said:

Drop on Friday is good with me.

I noticed no PS+ start of month specials on select newer releases this month. Did this disappear with the price increase?

Tjoeb123 said:

November 4th, 5:04 pm

This isn’t Sunday….is it?!

Also, SAO’s coming to Vita too, but without a retail release.

Is My Name Is Mayo some kind of companion piece to I Am Bread?

fluffyloki said:

November 4th, 8:01 pm

Hey, thanks for the drop, but to all those that don’t or even do like this. We know most of what is being released and when way before “the drop”….

    Tjoeb123 said:

    November 5th, 12:00 pm

That’s true for the big titles, not so much the little ones. Besides, it serves as a refresher for most of us who forgot.

And besides, it gives the Blogcast crew a good excuse to talk about Japanese games when they come up.

The Drop has really been something I prefer on a Sunday. It’s like, wow, there was someone at Sony still working for me, even though I just had the worst experience with my life this weekend, and got f******* whoops ******* ***dont tell them about****.

Yeah I feel like I just Got f’ckd by Clements.

^^^ That, though, is an old way of looking at todays’s world. That Ryan, previously, was working late Saturday night to deliver the Sunday morning The Drop?

In that regard, I guess it is best to receive ’em straight from Friday’s mouth

Orayu- said:

November 5th, 6:59 pm

Glad to see a PS3 game, more of em would be even more amazing.

Game_Over7983 said:

November 5th, 9:22 pm

You should do The Drop like this all the time. The site psnstores.com tends to beat the Playstation Blog’s PSN Store Update Previews on Fridays so why not adopt this schedule instead of always releasing the drop on a Sunday and being beaten by a 3rd party site?

More VR crap to flood the new release section of the PlayStation store. Wonderful. It wouldn’t be so bad if there were other decent games in this line up. What a waste

Nightstream88 said:

Didn’t think Robinson the Journey was coming out so soon.
Was going to get Playstation VR by the time it came out but going to have to wait until Next year for that it is going to be the first game I play on Playstation VR though.
Getting Sword Art Online Hallow Realization got the Collector’s edition on preorder.
and want to play Eagle Flight as well.
