We at Zen Studios are so excited to announce that Pinball FX2 VR is coming to PlayStation VR! The most immersive pinball experience around, Pinball FX2 VR and the Season One Expansion pack will both hit PlayStation Network on November 29 in North America.

To celebrate this launch, The Walking Dead pinball, the blockbuster collaboration between Zen, Telltale Games, and Robert Kirkman’s Skybound imprint, will be available in Pinball FX2 VR day and date! That’s a frighteningly huge launch!

Replicating the atmosphere of real-life pinball machines in a virtual play space, Pinball FX2 VR features gameplay and effects that you simply cannot recreate on a physical machine, where animated toys spring to life on stunningly active table environments with spectacular depth. Additionally, the game’s scoreboards will track your Pro Score, Team Score, table stats, and more to let you compete against players from all over the world!

Pinball FX2 VR includes Mars, Secrets of the Deep, and Epic Quest for just $14.99. Additionally, Pinball FX2 VR: Season One expansion is also available for $24.99 and adds CastleStorm, Wild West Rampage, Paranormal, BioLab, and Earth Defense to the base game. We’ll be working on bringing you even more content soon!

The VR version of The Walking Dead Pinball brings the complete experience of the beloved 2014 table into fully immersive virtual reality. You’ll experience choice-driven gameplay along with original story dialogue from the award-winning cast, in scenarios that include choosing who to save and who to leave behind in a walker attack, keeping up morale, searching for food and supplies, acquiring important tools, and navigating through the herd amidst an oncoming walker breach.

As the action unfolds, walkers bear down on you. Fight your way through all five of the table’ s episodes to a thrillingly climactic wizard mode. The undead will be so close you can practically smell them!

Pinball FX2 VR and the Pinball FX2 VR: Season One expansion will hit PlayStation VR on November 29, 2016 for $14.99 and $24.99, respectively — and The Walking Dead pinball table will be available for Pinball FX2 VR on PlayStation VR for $6.99 on the same day. See you on the leaderboards!

  • If I bought the Walking Dead table in the past, is there a discount, or do I have to buy it again for VR?

Unfortunately you would have to purchase again since this is a whole new product – but this is a really awesome way to play these tables, you really have to see for yourself! The team put a lot of work into Pinball FX2 VR for PS VR and we couldn’t be more proud :)

    • I am deeply disappointed that there isn’t some kind of upgrade path. I was hoping the VR would be a reason to install the game again and pick up some new tables, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Is there Pro support? Are they the same tables we already own, or are they new tables with a similar aesthetic?

    • I basically mak℮ about $9,000-$12,000 a month online. It’s ℮nough to comfortably replace my old jobs income, especially considering I only work about 10-13 hours a week from home. Go this website and click to “Tech” tab to start your work… www.14earnpath.com

    • Huge slap in the face to loyal customers. I can understand not allowing upgrades/dlc compatibility between platforms (PSN/Xbox Live/Steam/Etc…) but you guys should be ashamed for not making this basically a “cross-buy”. Zen/Pinball FX is no longer a “platform” of their own… just re-selling the same games over and over with the same DLC. Bad taste. Nothing to be proud of. This pains me as someone who has foolishly supported every game you guys have made in the past.

    • It’s not a “slap in the face,” good god. You paid for Pinball FX 2 and whatever tables you got, and you got them. I assume you enjoyed them if you kept coming back for more. They don’t owe you free software for life just because you gave them a few dollars and got exactly what you paid for.

      The self-entitlement these days. Goodness.

Excited for this. And happy to pay for Zen’s hard work, since that’s how things work in the grown-up world.

  • What a time to be alive! I can’t wait!!

You’ll have to let us know what you think once you get a chance to play! PS VR is incredible!

    • T00NBARMY71

These games are totally awesome, being able to play these tables for the PlayStation vr is just something you have to experience. Buy them, you won’t be disappointed.

  • I wondered if you guys were gonna go there.

  • I am excite

  • I’ve spent hundreds on Zen tables in the past. It stinks that I’d have to repurchase all of them again. :(

Some type of loyalty program would have been nice.

Sorry we couldn’t make this happen. We put a lot of work into making this a very special, immersive pinball experience and we hope you’ll check it out.

    • Stop supporting devs that aren’t happy with only selling you “new” products… they want you to keep paying for the ones you’ve already paid for.

Fantastic news! Please tell me we can use the move controllers!!

  • I’m excited, thanks for sharing. A few thoughts…
    1) I had to Google Pinball FX2, isn’t that the competitors branding; I thought it was Zen Pinball 2?
    2) It’s unfortunate there isn’t a discount for legacy customers, like a previous commenter, I’ve spent way too much on Zen Pinball already. :)
    3) Are there plans to bring many of the previous licensed tables to VR; I’m looking at you Marvel?

We developed both Zen Pinball and Pinball FX. Same games, different titles.

We’ll be sure to announce once we have more tables on the way (licensed or otherwise) when the time comes :D

Will this be available as physical media? I would rather wait and buy everything to own on disc. Not a fan of creeping dlc (gradual expansions). Charge more and offer everything up front.

This will only be available via download, no disc version planned at the moment.

    Very cool!

Indeed, I am a little disappointed that my Zen Pinball 2 purchases won’t carry over, but I also understand that bringing these to VR isn’t a simple task, and takes A LOT of work. People need to get paid and eat after all!

I am curious however: Why didn’t you just stick with calling it “Zen Pinball VR”? Isn’t Pinball FX the name of the XBOX edition in the past?

    Thanks!

    • Bobby Hopper
      Bobby Hopper

The game is functionally identical across VR platforms so we’re just using the one name to make it easier :)

  • This sounds like it will be a blast in VR! I can’t wait!!

  • Hello Bobby,
    This looks amazing!
Was wondering if there will be a trial or demo so we can check out how VR works for pinball before purchasing?

  • I’m all over this one for sure. Love Pinball, and love VR

  • I love Zen Pinball and the thought of playing them in VR is exciting, but I also believe there should have been some sort of discount for those of us who have already purchased them. I’m not expecting a free importing such as with Zen Pinball 1 to Zen Pinball 2, but a Cross-Deal.. such as we’ve seen with The Pinball Arcade Season 1 at 50% off and with Drive Club to Drive Club VR (Also 50% off at $19.99)

Especially when tables in VR are generally the same table structure and games we already own in “Actual Reality” .
I also think $6.99 per table may not sell very well. I guess time will tell.

    • Would have been nice if there was some form of compensation. Even if it was only 20% off for previous bought tables. I really love these pinball tables and bought more than i should. The fact that i have to buy them all again at full price is a little off-putting. For collectors it’s probably more convenient to stick to the 2D tables so you can easily switch between all your tables and continue to build on your existing collection.

  • andrewsqual

Wait what? Isn’t Pinball FX2 pretty much already on PlayStation except its called Zen Pinball 2? Why not just bring VR to Zen Pinball 2 then at no extra charge? Even the DLC across these 2 different named titles are the exact same like The Force Awakens and all release the same time.

I really shouldn’t be complaining though. Thankfully I haven’t spent hundreds of quid on Zen Pinball tables over the years, it doesn’t mean other people haven’t though. Way to screw up your decent business model that has always been in place for this series. Wouldn’t VR for Zen Pinball 2 ensure that people will continue to buy tables on that game also? I’ve bought a few tables over the years but I won’t be touching anymore now.

Are you going to bring “Zen Pinball 2” to Xbox Scorpio VR when it launches and make all the Xbox people buy THEIR tables again too lol?

    • Seriously, this. If they’re going to screw over Playstation users like this, they should screw over XBone users exactly the same way. This is stupid.

  • First let me say Thank You for making all the Zen Pinball tables cross play on PS3 and PS4! I have them all, that along to the great tables and animations made me a big fan of Zen Pinball! But VR is a whole new game I don’t mind buying them again for the experience in VR at all. Sadly I have to find a VR bundle first. I will be on board soon as I do.

I think I will do a test run with PinballFx2 VR and the Walking Dead. I if as good as I believe you can make them I will get them all once again. I love to see a little green men and UFO’s table along with the original Godzilla!

  • Looks like someone jumped the gun and put the game up on the US Store today!
Just picked up Pinball FX 2 VR for $13.49 (pssst, there’s a 10% off discount code on the Store today. Code=D9NGJ7NF3L)

    store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/games/pinball-fx2-vr/cid=UP4042-CUSA06382_00-PINBALLFX2VR0000

    • Damn, it looks like they removed it.

I would have considered it for a small discount, but I still think they should do something like a 50% discount for previous table owners.

  • Sadly, as awesome as this sounds… after buying almost every single table on PSN, Xbox Live, Stream and some on Android/iOS… no way I’m paying full price again for the same exact tables. Fool me once… well, I’ve been fooled enough. Good luck on your future endeavors, as loyal as I’ve been to Zen/Pinball FX over the years… I’m out.

    • If you felt fooled for buying these tables the first time, why would you play them even for free the second time? Love it when “loyal” customers say they’re done giving a developer their money because they expect a situation where they didn’t have to give the developer their money. Makes sense!

  • Phineasfool

I bought all the tables when they were up earlier and love it. It’s really cool how each table has its own theme going on around you as you play. Really looking forward to future tables. I also love the view in VR as in the standard game I was never 100% happy with any of the views.

  • Billy__The__Fish

When will this be made available to the rest of us in Australia, Europe and so on. Thanks.

  • ThomasAldrin

Someone should create a pinball machine controller. I would buy that in a heartbeat!

  • When do you release in europe?
Why only in America at this moment?

  • Hi
Ps4 Pro console is supported ? is a better graphics etc. ?

  • A message to ZEN STUDIO’S This game is good I have purchased every table ,currently I am Pinball Wizard#2 on the ranks. I tryed to get a review copy for my first youtube review but they never responded. I would have gave it a 9. Sorry ZEN but my review would have sold you more copies. Maybe I can get future packs for review? PSN name is. CAnN-a-bis

  • HI

I am using an Asian Playstation Network account and i seemed to not be able to buy all the new tables just released e.g. The Walking Dead, Portal, Deadpool and many many others.

It always prompted me as ‘there is no available items for you to purchase…’ – it went like forever.

Is there anything I didn’t know about?

    Appreciate your assistance on this.

    Thanks..

  • This is a goddamned Scam.

I already paid hundreds of dollars for tables on Zen Pinball, I have ALL the tables, and then I spend $400 for a VR unit, and you want me to spend hundreds of dollars AGAIN just to get my library in VR?

For the past three platforms (PS3, PS4, Vita) I have been able to get my library back for free, as a loyal customer, but now you spit in our faces by not letting us do the same for another platform? This is goddamned ludicrous.

    Hi!
I’m a huge fan of Zen Pinball so I was thrilled to see a VR version. Downloaded the starter pack and The Walking Dead table. (Mars is particularly awesome in VR!) I have one slight issue that maybe you guys can patch. The angle of the tables. While it is very realistic, the problem is having to look almost straight down with the headgear on for any length of time is straining on the neck. I managed to fix it a little by re-centering the image while looking straight up but it’s still not enough. My chin is still buried against my chest in order to see the flippers. As you know a good player on Zen/FX can play a single ball for an hour at a time which makes staring down with the headgear kind of a chore.
Obviously the best option would be to have a choice of angles like you do in the standard game(without the table scrolling of course) but barring that setting the table a little more “in front” of you (kind of like you are leaning back to play) would really make these tables perfect.
Fix it and I’ll be buying the add on pack and any new tables (STAR WARS please!!) that come along..

    Thanks for your time..
