Sweet!

Still think PS3 and Vita need to be better represented. Both systems have a massive library and I think Sony can do better than six PS3 and eight Vita games…

It’s been 3 years since the current gen is now out. You guys need to freaking move on! Ps3 era is over…

    Renan_Acid said:

Just because we have a newer console doesn’t mean we should stop enjoying our PS3s and Vitas. Heck, there are still some PS2 games I still have to beat.

    steeler192 said:

    November 24th, 5:00 pm

I own all the PS consoles and use them all frequently. I just platinum’d Steins;Gate and absolutely, thoroughly and completely loved it. It’s too bad you’ll miss it (hint: it’s on Vita and PS3).

So, just saying, you’re being unnecessarily rude.

    Shona-SoF said:

    November 24th, 6:16 pm

Right? They should just completely remove those games from the store. Sony needs to focus on the future and stop catering to anyone who dares to actually keep their older systems. If they can’t afford a PS4, then they can’t afford new games right?

Clearly only the newest elite titles are all that matters and any games older than 6 months should have INCREASED prices for anyone who mentions a last generation system and… what?

    …Oh.

I’m told I’m going a bit overboard with the sarcasm.

    ahem

But yes. More PS3, Vita, and even PSP game sales would not go unappreciated. (by most people, anyway)

Just because the PS4 doesn’t play older games does not mean that there aren’t many titles that aren’t still in demand. I’d love to see a PSN wide sale on par with what Steam does for its sales.

    AdrianKain said:

I’ve had a PSOne (best system ever in my opinion), PS2, PS3, Vita, and PS4. I currently still have all of them except for my PS One. I still play games on all of them except PS2, and I still buy more games on average for my PS3 and Vita than my PS4. So yeah, I’d like more PS3/Vita sales too.

Regarding the sale, I haven’t spent a penny on the Black Friday sale, nor the Flash Sale, nor will I… Skyrim Remaster and The Witcher 3 Deluxe were going for 25 bucks on Amazon last night. Arkham Knight for 9 bucks. Among many other crazy prices…. that’s a sale. And call me crazy or antiquated, but I don’t understand how people can value digital content more than physical copies. I’m sticking to my far cheaper, tangible, physical collection whenever I can.

    Fuhr31 said:

Older games should really have permanent price decreases. Sales shouldnt even be needed. Especially on digital games that arent taking up any inventory space. Just get them out there for people to play.

    drd7of14 said:

    November 25th, 2:11 pm

    @AdrianKain
    $25 + Tax
PSN(Digital) is taxless. So it’s 29.99 flat. Also, you could get a deal with gift cards for PSN credit via Target and save money from that as well.
Then you add the additional 10% off that SONY is offering off entire cart (1 time use).
And whata you know…Digital ends up being cheaper afterall.
It may take a slight effort, but digital can always win.
It’s nice to have my video game collection with me wherever I go, without having to bring 200+ discs around.

    AdrianKain said:

    November 25th, 8:59 pm

    @drd7of14
Actually, the $25 price includes taxes and free 2-day shipping with Prime. And I get a physical copy of the game for my collection, or to re-sell on Amazon later if I want to.

You may prefer digital for on-the-go convenience. I don’t care much about it because I only play at home, and when I’m away, I have my Vita with tons of digital and physical games anyways.

Why is the BATTLEFIELD 1 AND TITANFALL 2 – DELUXE EDITIONS Bundle only 25% off on the Canadian PSN store when it is 50% off on the US PSN store?

Currently on the Canadian store it is cheaper buying them separately then buying the bundle.

    mnep99 said:

    November 24th, 2:07 pm

Because they blame our weak dollar for higher prices, but when it comes to discounts we suddenly get parity, like the 50$ off the PS4 Slim that should be closer to 70$ off in Canada, or even worse deals, like this one. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    VampShare said:

    November 24th, 2:29 pm

To emphasize how crazy it is, the equivalent bundles are 50% off on Xbox One and Origin in Canada, and it’s cheaper to buy TF2 and BF1 individually without the 10% coupon compared to buying the bundle with the 10% coupon? Please tell me this is a mistake.

    lordzeze said:

    November 25th, 10:37 am

Guess Sony doesn’t care. Will just buy it on the other system where it is actually on sale.

    VampShare said:

    November 25th, 12:45 pm

Hi Brian, is there anyway that you can confirm if the discount (50% in US vs 25% in Canada) is correct? Regardless of whoever made the decision, it would be nice to know if that price is indeed the correct sale price and not an error.

    Thank you!

    ExziledKing said:

They are. If you don’t want deluxe edition. Battlefield 1 deluxe is 130 before price drop and adding titanfall 2 deluxe would be upwards of 200$

    lordzeze said:

    November 26th, 8:00 pm

Your prices are wrong. Battlefield 1 Deluxe Edition is $99.99 regular price (66.99 for the flash sale). Titanfall 2 Deluxe Edition if $99.99 regular price ($59.99 for the flash sale). Buying both deluxe games separately during the flash sale works out to $126.98 compared to the $127.49 so called “sale” price for the bundle.

Remove or increase the wallet limit please, I bought 2 $100 cards and just learned I can’t even use the second because of funding not being able to go past $150 and thus I cannot take full advantage of the extra 10% off. This is really awful especially since they do not even share this information anywhere.

    Wolokowoh said:

    November 24th, 1:51 pm

They do that for two reasons. Somebody could ruin a person’s credit and livelihood if a person steals an account tied to a credit card. The second is so you can’t do exactly what you want to do. It limits you to 15 dollars of savings. Its bad business to give away money that the customer may be willing to spend. The ten percent got you looking at the sale and now that you want something over that limit, you will probably buy it in spite of not saving the 10 percent on the rest.

    Elk_mistral said:

Lol how is this a sale? For most of these games, you can get a physical copy cheaper through amazon, best buy, gamestop. This is black friday after all. Stop trying to charge so much for digital downloads they are just not equivalent to their physical counterparts, as much as you would like to believe… Or have your customer base believe.

    ThePortalguest said:

    November 24th, 2:38 pm

Maybe for those of you who live in the US. In other regions, like Latin America, the physical copies are very expensive and rarely get a discount. So yeah, for a lot of us is a really good opportunity to get cheaper games.

    gokuh013 said:

    November 24th, 2:52 pm

In Latin american countries, games(new) ALMOST NEVER go on discount…..their discount is to be sold at $60……

    AizawaYuuichi said:

    November 24th, 11:58 pm

It’s a sale because games aren’t competing for shelf space in a store or warehouse, so publishers/Sony don’t have to artificially devalue their product in order to move it simply to make room for more product. Games can retain their value for longer, allowing Sony, the devs, and the publishers to make back their costs on fewer copies sold, which will then allow them to more deeply discount the game after they’ve broken even. Sure, I’d love it if digital games started $5 or $10 cheaper than physical, but expecting them to keep up with the price drops of retail for unrelated reasons isn’t realistic. If you want digital, you pay for it. If you want firesale prices after a game has only been out a few months, buy the disc. It’s not changing anytime soon.

I just can’t bring myself to spend $70 or $100 on a 32/64gb card when I see equivalent SD cards on sale for $15 or less. Even 128gb SD cards go for around $30. It is indeed ridiculous, as you said. I would add the word ‘pathetic’ as well.

It’s been 3 years. The new slim model PS4 is already out now. I’m surprised they’re bothering with PS3 or Vita at all. I highly doubt anyone was complaining about no PS2 games on sale this far into the PS3’s life cycle.

    StevenT475 said:

@mjc0961 Yeah big difference there. Only a handful a PS2 games on PSN and the ones who want them would have gotten them already. While PS3 games have a huge library on the store in comparison with a lot bigger variety. And I highly doubt a lot of people have the entire PS3 library.

There are newer games here if you waited for fair prices at least for Canada, nothing great in fact the best deal I get this month is my retail copy of ff15 for $50 CAD from Amazon.ca preorder. I fail to see the hype anymore sorry.

PS+ gets me what exactly on your “biggest sale of the year”? Ie Black Friday flash sale, apparently it gets me nothing on 64 items big bad nothing, at least there are some in the week sale.

Peer to peer paywall multiplayer with sub PS3 / original Xbox live features

Indie games and stuff I don’t want in rental form (2-3 items a year I actually wanted prior to plus)

And the almighty ps+ discount of zero on the biggest flash sale of the year in your store.

Needs improvement.

And the usual pricing oddities and errors for us Canadian customers.

Skeetlejuice said:

November 24th, 4:38 pm

Since your arbitrarily shorted me a 10 year psn avatar for your store by 18 days with your made up 6 months deal, I’m thinking if making my own psn store avatar, bringing it into my account through Facebook profile.

You want to know what it will say.

Sony network store, phoning it in since 2006.

I know why you stripped the flash sale of plus discounts, you figure people are going to drink the 10% off koolaid code hard. The reality is you have a lot of competition for sales and digital shouldn’t be more expensive than retail but it often is. With 500gb stock hardrives and these rolling sales you only have yourself to blame for leaving money on the table and alienating long time customers.

There are a few deals but there are many people that spend $10-50 that would double or treble that on a month like this, so much of your content has very little appeal to me. But thank you for Until Dawn and SFV deluxe you managed $45 out of me on the biggest sales month. I’ll continue with Amazon etc for games and movies.

(Canadian prices) Wow, I’m actually sad lol how disappointing. I thought we’d get more games on this flash sale in the same low ranges as Tuesday’s sale. I don’t think I’ll be buying anything, but I’ll take another look. Last year on PSN I got Wolfenstein TNO for $8 and Rocket League for $11.

    ZanFear said:

    November 24th, 6:20 pm

PS, thought there would be a sale on the Battlefront season pass after the free weekend last week, but alas, not to be.

    Kharmeister said:

    November 24th, 7:10 pm

Totally agreed. I was really looking forward to this Flash Sale, especially with the 10% coupon, but the Canadian prices have all but turned me right off. A number of the games I was looking forward to picking up did get discounted, but seriously, the prices are much higher than what the US is getting. $56 for Bioshock Collection? $40 for Skyrim? Versus $41 and $30 US respectively?!? Even with the 10% coupon it’s not really that much of a deal. ZanFear said it, last year’s sales were better and Canadians largely enjoyed the same prices as those in the US, so there was more incentive to pick stuff up. I don’t want to sound ungrateful, but it seems smarter for me to wait.

Really disappointed there wasn’t a sale on Uncharted: The Nathan Drake collection too…

I WILL pick up Just Dance 2017 Gold Edition as my wife and I have interest in it. The coupon will bring it down even lower than the $30 price (notice that THIS game is priced the same as it is for the US, so what gives Sony) and I’ll use my $25 in Sony Card Sony Points on my card to make it practically free. So I won’t walk away completely empty-handed. But this sale could definitely be better and I would have liked to have spent much more.

    ZanFear said:

    November 24th, 7:33 pm

The Nathan Drake Collection is $29.96 on Amazon Canada right now. I think that’s the Black Friday price, but not sure if that’s the cheapest its been in Canada, so not sure if you’d want to get it for that price, or even wait a month for Boxing Day.

Just confirmed that here in Canada retail is on par or better, depending what you want.

I will concede for games you play a lot like multiplayer etc, I will consider giving up resale / trade etc to have the convenience but every 30-60gb digital game fills up the fridge. No tax on digital is a consideration though. I get many just do digital now but you should realize that creates a monopoly against you these deals are your only deals vs retail and the store etc.

Walmart bestbuy GameStop even toys r us all have options. Amazon.ca I’m uncertain if they will roll out more prior to cyber Monday, but between all of them chances are you can find a retail version for a better or par price.

If you are looking for dark souls 3 it’s on at GameStop for $25 CAD only sick deal I saw for my tastes.

Or $79.99 on he psn tough call.

    Kharmeister said:

    November 24th, 7:20 pm

Sometimes it works out better getting digital on PSN, and the fact that we don’t have to pay tax on PSN purchases can often make a good deal sweeter (I’ll be picking up Just Dance 2017 Gold Edition) and getting a much better deal than at retail for example. I also have an MBNA Sony Mastercard so I can purchase Sony-branded products like games, electronics, and even PSN cards and retroactively redeem the points I’ve built up against the credit card balance, which basically works out getting serious discounts on games, so I’m able to leverage that too. But retail usually wipes the floor with digital and honestly its sad that even in this day and age the pricing is not more equivalent. More of the savings that come from not having to package and transport physical media needs to be passed on to the actual consumer, who ultimately cannot re-sell or refund their digital purchases.

Hehe…come on, Sony.

    Seluhir said:

    November 27th, 7:55 am

Is there anything you won’t complain about?
    \
I’m pretty sure if Sony came out and said ‘we’re adding 30 dollars to every PSN user’s psn account to be used at their discretion’, you’d complain about it not being 100.

There will be times when retail stores are able to offer better prices since they have to clear out stock before the game devalues enough that they’ll never sell it at all. Retail stores have to manage inventory, so sometimes they deeply discount prices to facilitate stock leaving their warehouses. Black Friday is a great opportunity for them to do this.

Digital stores don’t have that, so they aren’t forced to discount as deeply.

But in the end… the reality is, buy where you feel offers you the best value. The convenience of digital is worth more than the ~8 dollar difference I’d save ordering online from retail, so I will buy digital if I want a game. You’re allowed to disagree, but it would be nice if you could just NOT push that ‘post’ button once in a while.

You know theres so much salt here in the comments that some of you really need to go on a diet too much salt is bad for you.

Anyways. I’ll be grabbing the Call of Duty Infinite warfare Legacy Edition for 59.99 i knew there was a reason why i waited. Fallout 4 for less then twenty yes please especially since it weakest on the PlayStation console and Rise of the tomb raider for 39.59 yes please since its a old game from last year. Add that to Overwatch for 39.59 a game that isn’t worth full price.Star Wars Battlefront deluxe edition for 9.99 and i am setsuna for 26.79 that isn’t worth 40.00$ but i’ll gladly buy it on sale.

I cant believe some kids complain about theses sales must be broke or they have mommy and daddy buy there games

For all the he-haw you guys at Sony drum up, your service is horrible. I purchased a VR set for $500 and I get sick from playing it within five minutes and remain sick the whole day. I tried to return it to Walmart and they said to contact Sony but when I contacted you guys, you refused. Thats 500 that is going to sit in the basement. To think I was going to turn around and purchase Pro with that money. I have been a loyal customer to Sony since the days of PS1 even though I own MS consoles also, I always purchase third party titles for Sony. Very very disappointed. I don’t think I will be making any other purchases until this matter is settled.

Sony can’t be held responsible for your personal medical issues.

VR has always come with a ‘use at your own risk, nausea may occur in some people’ risk. You chose to make a large purchase without investigating possible risks… that’s nobody’s fault but your own.

Yes, it sucks that this is happening to you… and I’m very sorry… but you just might not be able to use VR and Sony can’t change that.

For a Black Friday + Flash sale, this sucks big time. The prices for most games are high and almost no PS3/Vita titles. I might take Doom, but that’s about it. Sony seems to be doing everything possible in order to lose customers.

    rudetoy said:

    November 25th, 7:33 pm

Right you are. 100%. In this “sale”, Sony is just hoping and praying that gamers aren’t noticing the MUCH better sales at the big box retail stores. Maybe they’re thinking people in non-metro areas won’t be able to get out to those stores and would prefer digital. Of course, you can buy those physical copies online also, so Sony really has no advantage here.

The only advantage is if you just HAVE to have your games in digital format. I don’t see the advantage of paying more money and then not even owning a physical copy to do with as you please when the game has been completed.

PS3 turned 10 and you can’t even give it a proper holiday sale. Sony only cares about people buying their new products and not those who supported them from the get-go. Wow! Just Wow! This is the biggest slap in PS3 owners faces! And spare me the PS4 BS because there’s still games digitally on PS3 you can NOT get on PS4 and was hoping for some of those to be on sale.

@AdrianKain

“And whata you know…Digital ends up being cheaper after all.”

    Seriously dude? You’re flat-out wrong.

For example, Mafia 3 is $29.99 at Best Buy on Black Friday. Here? $41.99. Ok, you pay sales tax on the Best Buy purchase. My total purchase of the game at BB was just under $33. Even with the discount on PSN, it’s still cheaper at retail store sale. And BB had free shipping on Black Friday, so don’t try to bring that in.

Charging $41.99 for a game that at least 3 major big box stores had for $29.99 is shameful and speaks to Sony’s arrogance.

And the REALLY big difference? You can sell the Mafia 3 disc for a decent amount after your finish it, but that’s not an option with the digital version.

    FAIL- Sony.
