Badge Pickup

PlayStation Experience 2015

For those lucky enough to get badges and attend in person this year, this is important. See below for full details on when and where to pick up your PlayStation Experience 2016 badge — and be sure to bring a valid form of ID when you come to pick it up.

Please keep in mind that there is limited space at the PlayStation Showcase, so if you’re interested in attending, we recommend picking up your badge on Friday (the day before) and then getting in line as early as possible on Saturday. Attendees will be let in on a first-come, first-served basis. The line for the Showcase will open up at 12:01am on Saturday, December 3, and you must already have your badge to get in line.

Badge Pickup Hours

  • Friday, 12/2/16: 12:00pm – 12:00am
  • Saturday, 12/3/16: 7:00am – 10:00pm
  • Sunday, 12/4/16: 9:00am – 6:00pm

Experience PlayStation 2016 App
PlayStation Experience 2016

To get the most out of the weekend, download the brand new Experience PlayStation 2016 app, available for free on iOS and Android devices. The app will be made available on Saturday, December 3rd, so don’t be alarmed if you can’t find it yet.

This app is not the same as last year’s — we’ve made some big upgrades and improved the overall UI. Here are some things you’ll be able to do with the app:

  • Plan your weekend with a comprehensive list of activities sorted by date and time.
  • Sync your PSN ID with your badge to unlock exclusive items at PlayStation Store by completing objectives throughout the weekend.
  • Track which exhibitors you’ve visited — and which you have yet to experience — by checking in with your RFID-enabled badge.

If you haven’t done so yet, be sure to sync your PSN ID with your badge by adding it to your registration at http://playstation.com/experience-tickets.

PlayStation Showcase

PlayStation Showcase kicks off the show on Saturday, December 3rd, starting at 10:00am Pacific Time, and will feature announcements and a sneak peek at the future of PlayStation. The Showcase will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis, so pick up your badges on Friday and get in line early on Saturday if you want the best shot at sitting in.

Collectible Cards

PlayStation Experience 2016

A few weeks ago we announced that collectible cards are coming back. For those unfamiliar, we have 37 unique cards scattered throughout the show for you to discover. Work together, divide and conquer, and you could have a complete set in your possession by the time Monday rolls around.

PlayStation Gear Store

The team has put together a slew of goods that any PlayStation fan would be proud to own. From clothing and collectables to accessories, the PlayStation Gear Store lineup is more stacked than ever. Last year, many items sold out quickly — don’t wait until the last day to get your favorite gear! And be sure to bring a Visa or Mastercard; we won’t be taking cash.

And with that, you should have everything you need to have the best PlayStation Experience possible. Don’t forget to check back to PlayStation.Blog for updates throughout the weekend. We can’t wait to celebrate everything PlayStation with you in just a few days — see you in Anaheim!

  • So is there really not going to be an option to watch the conference on PS VR? I was really hoping that would happen.

  • It’s ridiculous thst the PS EXPERIENCE is ALWAYS in California.
    Its unfair because
    Many EAST COAST gamers
    just can’t get there!
    >>>
    You should consider either
    holding PSX in NEW JERSEY
    or NEW YORK
    every OTHER year
    ~OR~
    having a 2nd event
    in NEW JERSEY
    or NEW YORK
    the month before this one
    EACH YEAR .

    • It was in Las Vegas the first year. And it’s not unfair exactly, it’s more cost effective to have it on the West Coast considering Sony Interactive Entertainment’s US headquarters is in California. Many of the developers are in California as well, including Naughty Dog, EA, Ubisoft, and Activision. There are a few others in Washington. It is also closer for the Japanese developers to fly to the West Coast of the US than to the East Coast. Basically it’s far more cost effective for the developers to set up in California than it is to set up on the East Coast. This is also why E3 is in California every year.

In addition, it’s not going to snow in Anaheim during December, whereas that isn’t always true for places like New York and New Jersey. They chose the first weekend in December to hold their annual event, so they’re going to be limited to places where weather isn’t going to be a major factor if they want to avoid those problems.

  • So does the Main Hall open at 10am on saturday or at 12pm after the showcase? A friend who went last year said that the Main Hall didn’t open till after the showcase… If that’s the case then I will actually try to see the showcase. Any help appreciated…

    • I went to PSX in Vegas, and yeah, the main hall doesn’t open up until after the showcase. The showcase is DEFINITELY worth getting into because of all the announcements and whatnot. The show floor will always be there and there’s more than enough time to play everything available. In any case, you’ll have fun. Enjoy!

  • I’m really excited for PSX 16! Will we be able to watch over the Live Events Viewer, as we were years prior? I was looking through the page and am not sure if I saw anything about that.

  • Really disappointed that badge pickup opens at 7AM on Saturday, that forces me (and I’m sure many others) to either drive all the way there on Friday just to pickup the badge or get there right at 7 and be in the back of what I’m sure will already be a very long line, with the possibility of not even making it into the showcase.

    • Last year, in spite of saying the same thing, people who didn’t have their badges got in first.
It was really stupid. Not sure if they’ve fixed that this year.

  • “we recommend picking up your badge on Friday (the day before) and then getting in line as early as possible on Saturday. Attendees will be let in on a first-come, first-served basis.”

Have you guys fixed the problem from last year?
At PSX in SF last year, people who got their badges early were let in *after* people who didn’t have their badges.
    It was pretty stupid.

    • Wow, what a bummer! I sure hope they fixed that! In Vegas – being their first one I’m sure – it wasn’t really organized and anyone could get in line with/out their wristbands. But if they encourage early pick up then they better enforce the line rule too.

    • Wait, how did that work? It says they will not let you into the showcase without a badge

    • In response to Deathalo: there were two lines. Those who got badges early and those who did not. From what I could tell, it looked like they either let in only the line for people without badges on order to go get their badges, or both lines at the same time.

I arrived at the same time as a friend of mine roughly an hour early (I had my badge, he did not). The result was he ended up inside at least 10 to 15 minutes before me.

  • Hello all. I’m a 21 year old Londoner living in California, so excited to be attending PSX. If anyone wants to meet up and hang out, my Snapchat is: occrad. Bonus if your a KindaFunny fan!

  • Are we allowed to bring DSLR’s or Gopro’s?

  • Is it possible to pick up a badge for your friend and or husband?

  • I was going to try to buy a last-minute ticket so that my 12-year-old son can join me in anaheim. The form says must be 18 and over but if accompanied by an adult can he still get it?

  • I can hope Capcom would say dragon’s dogma online is coming west. Next to other announcements reveals. Hoping.

  • Sadly I won’t be able too watch it live cuz I have too work tmmrw till 4pm but I will definitely watch it archived when I get back from a YouTubers channel.cant wait too see what gets announced :)

  • >And be sure to bring a Visa or Mastercard; we won’t be taking cash.

    ?!?!

  • Damn. Looks fun. It sucks though, why the 18+ requirement? At least 14+. I was so excited when I saw it was in Anaheim where I live, but then disappointed when I saw the age requirement.

  • why do they make it so difficult to see the actual time it starts? like have they never ran a show before? not everyone lives in same exact time zone, why would you just post random times and expect everyone on the internet to know when that is

  • Simply excited to be attending

  • Why only people from north america can watch live.playstation.com with their PSN ID, and unlock cool bonus content??

  • For who still doens’t know that , ARK : Survival Evolved is coming out the 6th December at 35$ Standalone or Bundle of 54.99$ With the Scorched Earth DLC.. 50€ in Europe , The Standalone version isn’t avaible in North America, Only the bundle version there. ^_^

  • Awesome panels.

  • How do you scan your badge for a panel??

  • I loved the venue this year but I wasted my whole morning waiting in line. 3 hours was ridiculous.

  • Michael,
I was at the PSX16 and stopped by the gear store to buy the collectible cards. I bought the set of cards and the binder (along with a bunch of other stuff), but when I got home I discovered the pack of cards wasn’t the 36 cards of series 1, but 25 of the cards they were giving away for visiting the Playstation Gear booth. I think the girl at the booth gave me a pack of the cards they were giving away with every purchase instead of the 2015 series.

I’ve been trying to sort this problem with Sony and the Gear Store for several days now and nobody can give me an answer or a course of action. Who can I get in touch with? This was clearly a mistake and those cards weren’t meant for sale and yet here I am with 25 dupes. I flew like 3000 miles, waited 3 hours in line instead of playing great games, and paid $50. I just wanted to complete my collection.

    Please help.
