  • Looking forward to it! One question:

Is the package set up as 3 different games (HD, Fury, and 2048) that you play separately or is it one big game that includes all of the content from all 3, with one big career mode, etc?

      Mark O'Connor

It’s one big game that includes all 3, they each have their own campaign modes, racebox and online set ups.

    • Sponge-worthy

So there are three different online instances that split up the tracks and ships?? That really sucks.

    • Robbie_G_lrish

@Sponge-worthy Fury was DLC for Wipeout HD, so if I remember correctly those two should be entirely connected. However 2048 is very likely to be entirely on its own. I don’t think it would even be possible to combine it with the other two, you’d be better off just making a brand new game.

    • That’s super cool that you combined them!

  • slambert215

Soooooo hyped for this I love wipeout! Will this be getting a physical release too or just PlayStation store?

  • PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE throw a little bit of funding to add PSVR support (follow cam AND cockpit). I would even pay an extra $10 for a VR mode add-on. Whatever it takes! Having tried a WipeOut on emulator (and F-Zero) in VR was incredible! People deserve to try it out. Lock it behind big warning screens if you have to!

  • Come on guys, VR support!!

  • Silver_shion

I’m glad we are getting new PS3 games on PS4, but what happened with the PS2 games.

I’d love to see more PS2 games with the HD treatment on PS4.

  • Awesome. Very stoked to get this soon. Thanks.

  • Yes!!! I’m so ready to play Wipeout again! I’m pre-ordering this today! I wish another whole new Wipeout would be made but I’m happy a collection is coming instead.

  • ::heavy breathing::

  • I’ve been eagerly anticipating this game ever since it was first announced.

I’d also love to know if there will be a physical disc available.

I am also glad to hear that a full racebox mode will be available, for setting up custom races. As much as I enjoyed playing Wipeout 2048 on PS Vita, the lack of racebox was a glaring omission in that game.

June….hopefully my bank account normalizes by then. P5 coming up then a con…just got psvr so there’s games I need for that…farpoint, etc

    Dear John,

I wasnt sure if I was going to comment cuz I knew before the announcement that anything Wipeout related coming to PS4 id buy, but is there any way possible to get Wipeout XL downloadable and playable on Vita, and/or maybe Wipeout 3 too? Cant get enough, June 6 2017 has been a long time coming!

    • 2097 (not sure about XL) was coming to ps store in 2007… but it was never released… probably because of licensing issues with soundtracks

but no dont expect those games to ever come… the games have licensed music and its probably not worth the effort for them to be released as classics :(

  • Wipeout Omega Collection or Redout? And why?

    • John McLaughlin
      John McLaughlin

There are many imitators..but there can only be one WipEout!!

  • Rapturesassassin

Physical edition or digital only? I just pre-ordered PaRappa The Rapper Remastered kinda disapointed that was digital Only. Cant wait 4 both games

  • Soundtrack too please! I still listen to my WipeOut XL soundtrack (still own the original CD too).

  • Sponge-worthy

I really hoped this would include 2097 content.

  • MP_is_for_Chumps

Good to see a Physical Disc edition also up on amazon. Thank you Sony :)

  • Guess what kind of pilot I am ? ;)

  • Nice!

  • Thank you for the physical release. This guarantees my buy.

  • NerdyJustin

I’ve been a WipEout fan from the beginning. Such an great adrenaline-pumping game! I will definitely be downloading this on June 6th!

  • Omg yes! I’ve been waiting for a wipe out on ps4…i was worried it was lost. Thank you!!!!

  • whereymyconary

Hum so can I do zone mode in all of them? I just remember the Vita zone was battles and visually very bored. I can play Zone Fury? (PS3 version that was free) all the time. That and a good sound track and just drive and drive in circles. Hum…

Glad it’s getting re released. Might need to pick these up since I never actually paid for either version due to plus. Which is a paid thing but feels different. And played a ton of both.

All the zone modes from both PS3 and Vita will be present

  • I noticed this detail on the Amazon page: NEW Van Uber racing ship. Awesome.

    • John McLaughlin
      John McLaughlin

Van Uber will be a new ship for anyone who makes a digital purchase from the PlayStation Store!

  • With 2 player splitscreen as an option that makes me wonder if PSVR would be a possibility down the line? Seems like it should be possible :-)

  • Lightbuster88

Just a quick question, will we be able to make our own custom soundtrack for Omega Collection like we were able to in HD?

    • John McLaughlin
      John McLaughlin

      Not like in HD.

You can either play our new banging tunes or play your own via Spotify or your HD

  • Please support PSVR in this game. I’m sure 90% of PS VR owners would buy it!

  • Will there be 3D support like the PS3 version had?

  • Doctor_Hank_Pym

OMG — Day 1 purchase!! I loved these on PS3/Vita (and the series as a whole) and will happily rebuy them again in here.
    QUESTIONS:
    1) Physical release? Or, if digital-only, do you have a ballpark file size you’re targeting?
    2) Any chance of 4-player split screen? It’s such an unfortunately-disappearing feature these days… Please let those of us with more than one real-life friend enjoy couch-coop! ^_^
    3) Any chance of some the original tracks by Cold Storage making it into the new playlist?

Thanks so much, all! Looking forward to this!

    • John McLaughlin
      John McLaughlin

      1: Physical and Digital!

2: Nope, 2 player SS only

3: Can’t talk too much on playlist just yet, but we have confirmed Prodigy, Chemical Bros and Swedish House Mafia!

  • PatricioUSA

One new trophy list or the 3 old ones?

    • John McLaughlin
      John McLaughlin

Trophies are a mix from HD/Fury/2048

    • I hope there are trophies for beating everything on max difficulty again, that made the original platinums so satisfying :D

  • This game needs psvr support !

  • Trophies are a mix of the old games instead of being separated into 3 individual lists? (or 2 if you class Fury as DLC like it was originally)? I really hope Zone Zeus, Beat Zico and Elite Campaign Legend are all still there.

  • I know the answer is likely no, but will you guys support the 3D mode for Wipeout HD in this remaster? If the 3D mode was running at a higher resolution on the pro, that would be amazing.

  • And seriously wish there was a collectors edition with a statue.

  • all these years and no new tracks? just remastered ones? so a prettier looking versions of the same games i already had and played forever? no, thanks. good luck, though.

  • I, too, would love it if this game had PSVR support. Will it at least have 3D support like the PS3 version of HD/Fury did?

  • Pericynthion

Had to pre-order the instant I saw this – WipEout was my first and always favorite PS1 game, and always has a special place in my heart. This might just be the reason I go out and buy that PS4 Pro I’ve been thinking bout.

All I need now is a future DLC pack for the missing courses from WipeOut XL / 2097 and I can die happy ;-)

  • otaku_no_bfm

I love Wipeout but already have HD/Fury on PS3 and all three on Vita so I can’t justify the price.

Maybe when there’s a discount I’ll grab it to play 2048 on my TV (even though it should have been playable on PSTV).

Anyone who doesn’t have the previous releases should definitely grab this though.

  • Whitenoise71

I would buy this and I have it on PS3. Great series. Mentioning the series Sony really should consider making track add on packs featuring recreated tracks from the original series. Too bad it is not possible, but man it would really add such a level of great link to the history of the game. Some of those original tracks from the early game were amazing. I am looking at you Wipeout XL2097 and Wip3out!

  • UnleashSonic

So excited for this! I desperately need WipEout, hope this is a sign of things to come (if the game does well enough)!

Any news on regions that get the steelbook?

  • UnleashSonic

And yes, it would be incredible to see the 3D mode make a return, and/or VR support! It can be done without being vomit inducing!

  • This game has been a HUGE inspiration to me, my team even my business to the point were we are building maglev ships to bring this style of racing to reality. I can’t wait to get it for my PS4!

  • I wonder if the 2048 segment will have it’s own racebox/arcade mode, since in the original 2048, there wasn’t any, and I hope this really fills this gap. Considering that you can make one-lap sprints, races for up to ten laps (even with A+ class), timed combat, time trial, Speed Lap and Zone mode, and with weapon restrictions, I hope this is all customizable. The same could also be said for the HD/Fury racebox/arcade, where in Online Mode, you can make up to a ten-lap race (if I remember closely).

Anyways, I can’t wait for the final release of the game.

    • John McLaughlin
      John McLaughlin

Yes all modes are available in Racebox!!

    • @John

So does this mean you can turn off specific weapons in racebox as well? so i can just make a race having only turbo’s? same with online? 2048 did have these modes where it only allowed cannon/mines, and green pad only races, but those would very rarely show up in online.

  • So, since this release will include Wipeout 2048, Wipeout HD, and HD Fury, if I already own 2048 on the Vita and have bought the HD & HD Fury DLCs for it, will the Vita version of Wipeout 2048 be updated to have its online servers merge with Omega Collection’s server once that releases? It’d be fantastic for Vita owners playing 2048 to be able to have multiplayer races online with PS4 players playing the Omega Collection version.

    • It’s already been confirmed there won’t be any 2048 cross play.. and the chances are 0% for ps3 cross play too…
