Hello PlayStation Blog readers!

Today we are excited to announce new DLC for Farpoint, the Cryo Pack. The Cryo Pack takes players to two new regions of the planet which are covered in snow and ice, with enemies reskinned to adapt to the cold. Players will also receive a new skin representative of an explorer who has trekked through the snowy wastelands.

Not only will players experience these two new regions via co-op*, but the Cryo Pack makes them – along with the previously released co-op maps – playable in Challenge Mode. That’s six maps total which will be new in Challenge Mode!

FrostFall_002

Here is a TL;DR list of everything that will be available from the Cryo Pack when it’s released globally on June 27:

  • (2) new co-op maps with reskinned enemies to fit the cryo theme
  • All (6) Co-Op levels become playable in Challenge mode
  • New player character skin
  • New virtual toys in the game lobby
  • New Trophies

It has been just under a month since Farpoint was released and we are excited and delighted with Farpoint’s reception. Demand has far exceeded our expectations. We want to thank the community for their support and we look forward to sharing more of our plans for Farpoint with you soon.

Thanks for the news Seth. I’m still hoping to pick up the bundle. It’s been out of stock since launch here. Any chance new stock is on the way?

Awesome, I look forward to purchasing and playing this. As Viper808 mentioned, we need more Farpoint + Aim bundles. This game proves PSVR is ready for AAA FPS titles, now we need enough copies on the market so people can buy and show Sony we want gaming to move forward.

No point in having cool DLC, if we can’t find the bundle in stores.

Yes, like all others said; DLC has no meaning to me. Bundle is not available on stores. PSN download option doesn’t help too. You can’t find stand alone VR Aim Controller anywhere. Guys, this was a really bad game launch!

I have no remorse for the people that didn’t preorder Farpoint. The PSVR bundles were impossible to find when they came out, you obliviously didn’t learn your lesson the first time.

Nice. I need more things to play that use the PlayStation Aim controller. So far Farpoint is the best option for that.

I bought Farpoint on PSN at launch. I mistakenly thought the AIM controller would be available separately, as well as in the bundle. By the time I realized no one had the controller in stock anywhere, I could no longer find the bundle as a means to get the controller, then just trade in the disc somewhere. So here I am with the game on my PS4 and no AIM controller to play it with. I’m not playing this with a DS4 when there’s a superior option out there.
Like most the others are saying, this DLC does me no good as I can’t even play the game the way it’s meant to be played. Please get more controllers out into the wild so people don’t have to buy them from scalpers.

Are you able to use the Sharpshooter accessory from killzone 3? Is it not the same thing?
I’ve seen those go for cheap.

Nice. I saw it updated but didn’t know what was in it. Just downloaded Arizona Sunshine and played a little before work, now I really can’t wait to get off.

I’ve been watching a lot of gameplay on this. Looks absolutely fun. Downside I can’t do VR due to a car crash that caused me to now get vertigo extremely easy. Will this game by any chance get a non-VR companion?

Get some more ps aim controllers out there, I really want to play this game but I want to play it properly! Bundle is ideal but I’ll pay extra for them separately if it gets me one. Not paying the 160+ online extortionists want

I really need to get PSVR in general. My bro brought his down for us to try out last weekend. And it is an addicting piece of tech. I played some Star Wars X-Wing mission, Farpoint, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood and the Batman VR. I played Farpoint just fine with the Dualshock 4 controller. I can’t wait to get my own. Interested in the new games to come.
