Seriously though, it is MUCH appreciated! ^_^

  • Spotify!!!

Now the OS team just needs work with them to bring Podcast support to the PS4 app, and we will finally be able to listen to the Blogcas while gaming.

Thanks you to everyone on the PlayStation Blog Team. As someone that does not own a PC or Smartphone, and has a PS4 Pro, 2 standard PS4’s, 2 3G Vita’s, and a Vita 2000, it is nice to see PlayStation recieve support. I absolutely love this platform, and hope to see it grow into a fully self sustaining ecosystem, from PlayStation Phones, to laptops, consoles, and TVs.

  • An open-world game with a broader target audience? I wonder if such a game can be found in the wild… or, perhaps, in the breath of it. (Similarly, might anyone have an inkling of a game which would allow for a splat of creative re-colouring?)

Actually, when it comes to ARPGs, one of next week’s releases, Tokyo Xanadu, has such a setup. Its Japanese developer, Nihon Falcom, are known for their Ys and Legend of Heroes series, though TX has perhaps more of a Persona-ey vibe. Alas, there are certain bonus features which will be in the PS4 version of the game, Tokyo Xanadu eX+, which is due out later in 2017. (I hope that when the Blogcast episode recorded the week before that version’s release is done, it could be remembered that this game had already been released on Vita…)

Also, I should note that there have been three Valkyria Chronicles games; the third, released in Japan on PSP, was not brought over to the West, though there was an English-language art guide from UDON Entertainment for it. In any case, Revolution is set in an alternate timeline to the three VC games, as well as having a different set of game mechanics to work with.
