Don't take shelter. Make it. Fortnite launches July 25 on PS4!

Ryan Clements's Avatar Posted by Senior Specialist, SIEA Social Media

A storm of howling wind and crackling light changed the face of civilization. Waves of monsters overtook humanity and pushed the survivors into hiding. Only a select few have the knowhow, weapons, and will to push back. Welcome to Fortnite, which launches July 25 on PS4 — with early access starting today with a pre-order.

Developed by the team at Epic Games, Fortnite combines fluid base building with third-person action. Gather supplies, build forts, and defend them against an onslaught of ghoulish creatures. With tons of loot to find and heroes to level up, Fortnite has all the ingredients to be a gaming obsession.

For the full list of new games coming to PlayStation next week, read on. And enjoy The Drop!

Why is it that the arcade archives aren’t featured on the drop? King of the Monsters just released and it was no where in the drop last week. If I remember correctly they used to be on here. On top of that the arcade archives seem to release on Thursdays and not Tuesdays.

Excited for Rick and Morty as well. I’ll be watching on Vue, and buying the season on PS Video to add to the collection.

I agree with the others, need more PS2 classics. Reaaly looking forward to the wee when Jak and Daxter hit PS4.

One last thing. Any idea when 4K HDR content is coming to PlayStation Video?

Okay, I’m SO confused.

Is fortnite launching FTP for Tuesday or is that when you can download the client to use the PAID early access?

This is seriously misleading, can someone please confirm?

Okay well i cant reply to comments for some reason but id like to clear up fortnite confusion the game is NOT free this entire year it will be free sometime in 2018 also the paid versions of the game will allow you to play the game today right now not on Tuesday July 25th if you paid for any version you can play the game immediately

I don’t know a lot about Fortnite but considering a retail version released this past Friday that costs $59.99 it seems unlikely there will be anything free unless there is something special about the early access code in the retail version. While I’m not going to play the game, I have access to the retail package and can tell you that it includes a disc, a Storm Master Weapon Pack digital code, and an Early Access Pack digital code.

Leaving Lyndow looks pretty good, plus has a low price and good reviews on Steam.

A game I’d like to see, but likely won’t due to being a PS1 game, but I’d love to see Jade Cocoon. It’s like pokémon but unlike pokémon, you can fuse two or more monsters together to make something new. Cool thing, the new monster takes on the appearance of both. Look it up on YouTube. Fun game.

You’re probably aware that it was released in Japan on PSN but that was for PS3 and PSP. I assume the developer Genki holds the rights to it though maybe someone else does in North America? I’m not too sure but the publisher here was Crave Entertainment and they’re long gone.
