PS VR Bundles Available at a Greater Value Starting September 1

New bundle includes PS VR headset and PS Camera for $399, PS VR Worlds bundle now priced at $449.

We have some exciting news for those of you that haven’t picked up PlayStation VR yet. Across the U.S. and Canada, we’re launching a new bundle that includes the PlayStation VR headset and PlayStation Camera for $399 USD (MSRP) / $499 CAD (MSRP). This essentially gives you the PlayStation Camera at no extra charge, and will be the core PS VR bundle moving forward.

What’s more, the existing PlayStation VR Worlds bundle (PS VR headset, PS Camera, two PlayStation Move motion controllers and PlayStation VR Worlds) will be available at a new lower price of $449 USD (MSRP) / $579 CAD (MSRP) – so you can get started with an all-in PS VR package at an even greater value. Both bundles will start arriving at retailers on September 1, so check with your local retailers for availability.

PlayStation VR Bundle

This is a great time to jump into the PlayStation VR experience, with a huge lineup of over 100 games, including recent favorites like Arizona Sunshine, SUPERHOT VR, Tiny Trax, Fantastic Contraption and Dino Frontier. If you’re new to PS VR, don’t miss out on marquee titles like Farpoint, Batman: Arkham VR, Star Trek: Bridge Crew and Resident Evil 7 biohazard. The PS VR games portfolio keeps growing, so visit this page to keep up with all the new releases.

Also, if you’re brave enough to be transported into an unnerving world full of dangerous aliens, the Farpoint PS VR Aim Controller Bundle is now back in stock.

On the horizon, we’ve got a great lineup of games, including The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR, Doom VFR, Sparc, Bravo Team and The Inpatient. The system itself also continues to evolve, as we just announced that the latest PS4 system software update 5.00 will include some enhancements for PS VR like 5.1ch and 7.1ch virtual surround sound in Cinematic Mode.

We hope you get a chance to pick up a PS VR system and step into amazing virtual worlds.

I have most of the VR games out now. Hoping better ones are coming soon. I feel i was robbed buying Ghost Busters. No where does it say u get 3 minutes of play and gotta wait till god knows when to get the rest of the game. I forget what it cost but wasn’t worth 2-3 minutes worth of play.

That’s great! I’ll pick one up as soon as Elite Dangerous supports it. So, if you could work with Frontier Developments and help them get it running, that would be wonderful.

Hey Mary, will the PSVR Worlds bundle no longer include the demo disc?

Both bundles will come with the physical demo disc :)

Regardless, the demo disc can be downloaded digitally from the Playstation Store. No need for a hard copy.

CrossStitch, for those of us with limited bandwidth through our isp’s (and no choice of any other isp’s) a physical disc is a HUGE thing. Although I would never buy this vr stuff. Maybe if it reached $50…..maybe

Where is the Farpoint/Aim Controller bundle back in stock? I’m not seeing it anywhere online. And I don’t want to drive all over looking for it if it’s not even restocked in Canada at all, let alone near me.

I’d be pretty annoyed as a developer who bothered to support this stupid thing, or the Farpoint devs themselves, when they can’t be found anywhere. Farpoint looks annoying to play without it, so I won’t even buy the game itself until I can get the Aim controller. Despite it being one of the VR games I really want. :/

weird. I see it all over the city where i live in Canada.

    Small towns i guess

I see the promotional display they have at multiple EB Games, in different towns as well, but that doesn’t mean they actually have the bundle in stock. Every place I found with the display didn’t actually have the bundle.

Unless you’ve actually tried buying the thing, then I’m not going to believe that they actually have multiples sitting around everywhere around you.

So, is the base price going to drop accordingly?
Or did you already drop that?

It looks like the PSVR/Camera bundle is replacing the core bundle that only included the headset (originally $399). It is likely up to retailers how they handle any price difference on remaining stock of the core bundle.

I am a proud Canadian and this price drop is a bit of a disappointment. If it was US price maybe. Not worth it at your outrageous Canadian pricing. Please don’t rip us off.

Sony has it own Exchange rate that differs from the work. 449$US translates into 561$ CAD. why charging 20$ more is beyond me (greed is the only explanation). They should have just sold it at 559$ CAD instead of 579$CAD.

Their core bundle at 399$US translates to 498$ CAD so they had it right with a 499$ CDN. Not sure why they are screwing canadian with a 20$ rippoff on the deluxe bundle.

    Elvick_ said:

    August 28th, 10:29 am

Yeah it’s been overpriced since launch, if my fiance didn’t buy it for my birthday I wouldn’t have one. Not going to turn down a gift.

But the exchange rate is ridiculous, we’re paying more for no reason and always have been in Canada. It’s ridiculous.

Hi, in the article you mention the bundles will be available in U.S. and Canada, are the bundles coming also to the European Union?

This is the US blog for North America. You should look for an answer on the EU blog for Europe. Different markets, different deals.

How about lowering the price of the PlayStation 4 system?

nathanuc1988 said:

August 28th, 9:15 am

I would also like to see a discount on the base unit. I only need the VR headset, not the controllers/camera. $299 will be my maximum buy in price with the current device, otherwise I’d rather wait for a 2.0 unit (even if that means waiting for the next PlayStation).

Supergertzy said:

Is these bundles coming to Europe as well? Would love the second one but could live with just the first one as well!

There is zero buzz about VR out there from the people who own one. Seems like noone is playing. Novelty has worn off, no must have IPs, no improvements to the system itself. I really dont see a need to jump in especially at this still high price.

I still play the hell out of mine. Check out Archangel. As a fan of giant robots, I felt like a little kid playing that game. Flexing the Move controllers does the same to the giant robot arms. And that’s before the actual gave even begins. It’s amazing in VR.

Seems like y’all at Sony are still drunk.Sorry but it’s still expensive and overpriced as hell…I always buy any PS accessory you throw out there but it’s a shame how overpriced the VR is…$400 should be the price of the VR Worlds bundle.Would really like to buy VR but I ain’t buying it until you wake up and put a decent price on it…not about to pay the price of PS4 itself for VR which is an accessory of PS4.

What about a bundle with just the PSVR headset and PS Move controllers?

I already have a PS Camera and I’m certainly not buying a second one.

I’m in the same boat. Or at least drop the base PSVR Pack w/o the camera down 50$ or something.

Are they reducing the price of the stand alone headset? I have everything else.

Sindred said:

August 28th, 1:00 pm

Come on Sony. I was hoping for some kind of Star Wars announcement. Not like the full Battlefront 2 in VR or anything. But was hopeful for some more VR space missions. That is still once of the best VR experiences I’ve had.

Soulslayer434 said:

August 28th, 1:46 pm

Sucks that I have a PS Camera already. Will the base VR sets in current stock drop in price?

TheDarthStewie said:

August 28th, 3:23 pm

Yeah, how about that’s no deal. Now make it about $200 with the camera and I might consider it. The vr system is not worth $400 for any reason. And it will not gain enough support to keep it running until it is affordable to the common gamers. Not just to the super rich who can afford to drop $400 on something like this after already dropping money on the system, games, and psn subscription. It’s ridiculous.

    thebustag2b said:

    August 28th, 11:09 pm

Yeah, that’s not ever going to happen. they would take more than $200 loss on that. $400 also isn’t that much, it’s not for rich people lol. It is an advanced system, and the price shows that. Dunno why you think something as big as VR to be $200 lol, this is already the most cheap vr system on the market.

pablikenemy79 said:

But nobody play with the PS VR it was only the first month but now, even with a price cut, I don’t think you will be able to make the Ps VR more attractive than it is…

Sony you better leave this VR stuff and get back to the handheld market.

Superstone said:

saab01 said:

Still seems pricey to me I remember when I got the move bundle on ps3 it was always frustrating to calibrate everytime when playing. Would of been nice for the move and ps camera to be able to save your face and body somehow so it doesn’t need recalibrating. I would have to see a dramatic price reduction in the vr to pick one up.

Please open up the flood gates to productivity apps, and other non gaming/video content on PSVR, and PS4 for that matter. I love the PlayStation ecosystem, and I really want to see a company that respects games lead the way. So disappointed in the mobile industry since Apple and Google killed all innovation. Lets see what happens when a creative company like Sony leads the pack.

Give developers the chance to make PlayStation the defacto device for home computing. Make PSVR the home of all future VR/AR related projects, in and out of Sony.
