PS Plus: Free Games for November

Worms Battlegrounds and Bound headline this month's lineup.

Greetings, PlayStation Plus members. November is another huge month, so strap in and get ready!

As we continue to celebrate the one year anniversary of PS VR*, we are giving PlayStation Plus members another bonus PlayStation VR game. From November 7 through January 2, PlayStation Plus members in the U.S., Canada, and most of Latin America can download Until Dawn: Rush of Blood as a bonus game. Get ready for the most disturbing roller coaster ride you’ll ever take in this trigger-happy arcade shooter.

PS Plus: Free Games for November

Now, let’s move on to your Playstation Plus free games lineup for November. First up, Worms Battlegrounds brings friends and family together in the noble pursuit of mayhem! Join multiplayer matches where each turn is full of questionable decisions, high-powered weaponry, and exploding sheep.

Next up — Bound. This platformer transports you into a beautiful, fantastical world that exists in the mind of a woman revisiting the memories of her childhood. Bound combines a unique visual style with a powerful story and gameplay mechanics infused with modern dance. As the game progresses, the introspective story unfolds through powerful metaphor and imagery.

This month’s PlayStation Plus lineup also includes:

  • R-Type Dimensions, PS3
  • Rag Doll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic, PS3
  • Dungeon Punks, PS Vita (Cross Buy with PS4)
  • Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse (Episodes 1 & 2), PS Vita

Lastly, we have hundreds of games on sale right now at PlayStation Store — and PS Plus members get double the discount. The three we are most excited for are Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix (20%; 40% off for PS Plus members), Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 (15%; 30% off for PS Plus members), and Horizon Zero Dawn (22%; 44% off for PS Plus members). Stock up on some new games for the holidays, but grab ’em before the sale ends on November 7 at 8AM Pacific

Thanks, and see you next month!

*PlayStation 4 system, PlayStation VR, and PlayStation Camera are required to experience VR functionality..

  • Urgh :( ; ( ; (

    • IK, Right the Line Up is not that Great, The last 3 months were IMO one of the best line ups for Playstation, and I don’t like to compete with other brands but PS was doing way better than Microsoft but now…. DAMN

    • I think Steep would have been a good game to have in this lineup

    • Anyone notice that there are no direct links in order to download Worms and Bound. On the store a large header with images of both games (and a caption under it reading “Free Games To Play”) only takes you to a page to extend your membership for 12, 3, and 1 months.

You have to type the games name in the search feature in order to find them. A very convoluted way of getting the PS Plus games this month.

  • October games were still great!

  • Free VR yeah!

    • Trash

    • why is it trash?

    • trash because they don’t own PSVR

    • Target has VR for 25% off using the cartwheel function of the target app. It’s only the core bundle, so you’ll get the $300 core for about $234 after tax without a redcard I think. If you already have the camera that’s more money you can save, if you already have move controllers even better.

But if you don’t want VR, that’s fine too, but it’s not super expensive, and it’s something completely new to your overall experience.

    • VR maybe not that expensive in the US, but it’s still quite pricey in Canada and elsewhere around the world. Also it doesn’t work for everyone’s setup either. They must have realized at some point with kinect, move Vr that cameras won’t work with everyone’s setup but thr demographic is small enough they can still appeal to the majority. Not everyone has the typical tv with everything below it. That’s like the TV you use in your parents house setup. Personally I developed my basement and ran a conduit to the back of the room whwre everything is tucked away, a projector in the ceiling, and a screen at the front. My buddy is similar but he has his ps4 in a room under the stairs. Not real practical to setup a camera at the front of the room and definitely wouldn’t be up for running a usb extender or something all the way there.

    • Also a loy of countries outside of North America are very limited on space. Families of living in 1000 sq ft apartments or less in some places

    • You really don’t have to have it set up that way at all. If there is room where ever your PS4 is, you can easily set it up there. Unless you are having people over for VR parties I don’t think it would affect you at all. You’d just be facing a wall instead of a screen. I have a small bedroom of like 10 by 12 feet, and I can VR in there, even though I maybe have 4-6 feet of space. Not EVERY game works but I can move the camera or the monitor in a way that does work. It’s not like you ever see the t.v. You’ve got a giant thing that is supposed to obstruct your view.

    • No one owns PS VR

    • GWalcott you are very wrong because I own a PSVR & I cant wait for DOOM VFR & SKYRIM VR

  • Dying Light next time?

  • Worms is going to get so much play with the kids and Bound looked great, so I’m happy on the PS4 front. R Type is great for PS3 (I already own it), but RDKF was free waaaaaay back when it came out and I wasn’t a fan. Dungeon Punks looks interesting on the Vita side, but I’m very happy to see Broken Sword.

Pretty good month overall. Nice job. :)

    • Ragdoll Kung Fu was never free. Maybe you’re mistaking it for Kung Fu Rabbit?

    • Ragdoll Kung Fu was free for a hot second, way before PS+ started. Can’t remember if it was mistakenly free or like a introductory promotion, but that’s how I got it years ago. Only reason it’s still on my PS3 is the theme song when you over over the game, haha.

    • Hover over*

    • Ragdoll Kung-Fu was free when it first came out. Not through PS+ but through a promotion with maybe a soda company? So a lot of people will already have it. I didn’t much care for it, and don’t think it’s a strong PS+ offering but YMMV.

    • Rag Doll Kung Fu was free waaaaay back in 2009 before PS+.

      http://www.ign.com/articles/2009/05/14/get-rag-doll-kung-fu-for-free

    • No Steeler, you’re 100% incorrect. Rag Doll Kung-Fu was free at one point. I think it was sponsored by somebody and was given out for free.

    • Yeah, it was free through some promotion with Sprint I want to say.

    • When Rag Doll Kung Fu first released in 2009, it was free for a limited time through a cross-promotion with Sprint.

PlayStation Plus didn’t launch until Fall of 2010, and the “Instant Game Collection” didn’t begin until until the Fall of 2012 (I think, someone may need to fact check that one. Fact Checking Squad, activate!)

It’s semantics, while RDKF was once free, this will be the first time it is being offered free through Playstation Plus. I don’t believe the exact same edition of any game has ever repeated.

    • I googled and you’re right. PSN partnered with Sprint and gave it away for free for a week, eight years ago. I don’t think I had a PS3 by that time…

    • Wrongo Steeler192. Rag Doll Kung-Fu was free upon release due to some promotion with Sprint.

    • Thank you, jrodfantastic! Your comment is the most complete and comprehensive, and I agree that the answer depends on one’s point of view.

I did some quick google searches to fact-check your statements as you asked, and came up with this: when Plus started in mid-2010, it offered all the features we’re familiar with (including access to the first IGC titles), with the exception of the online storage area for saved games. That feature was introduced along with PS3 software 3.60 in early-2011.

    • Rag Doll Kung Fu was free as a Sprint promotional, that’s how I got it

  • I had my eye on Bound for some time. Great selection!

  • These games even if they are not great are still far better than what games with gold is getting. They got at least 2 games lately that plus has gotten a while ago

    • Nights into Dreams is a fine game but it’s not dramatically different from games that we got before such as Entwined. It’s not a bad game but it’s pretty much just an old school Flower. pretty game that you fly with that people relax with. There’s more game elements in Nights, but it’s… Not anything anyone should be SUPER ecstatic about.

Trackmania Turbo is the game we got freebie earlier on I think you’re referring to.

Same with Borderlands I think, hard to remember because I bought the Telltale Collection like at launch when it was 50% off. Deadfall Adventures is either utterly garbage, or it’s just a critic disaster. It’s got a 7.9 from users, but a 43 from Critics. It looks like a mediocre game that some people really enjoy, and want to inflate the score of, but overall it’s probably more of a 6 or a 7.

Turing test looks ok. It’s a $20 game I guess it’s a good fit for those who want a portal-esque experience, haven’t played it. We’ll probably get it at some point.

    • Now, Bound is ok, it’s more or less, our Nights replacement, and probably a better replacement to be honest especially for women. I haven’t beaten it, but it’s certainly got its own charms and ways to handle things, and seems to be about a pregnant lady and her family, as she deals with life.

Worms is kinda love it or hate it. If you dont’ like lobbing comical things at other things, you might not like it, but if you’ve ever spent an hour and smiled while playing Angry Birds, try it out at least. No idea if the Online works or not, and the single player is kinda not there…

R-type dimensions is good. Really good.
Rush of Blood is amazing but only like 1 million people who don’t have the game and have plus and VR can benefit so kinda bad choice there.
Dungeon Punks, I can’t say anything until I know whether it feels like characters are paper thin or not.
Ragdoll Kung Fu is just kinda dumb fun when it’s fun.

I think someone would be better off getting VR than an Xbox just for games for gold personally lol.

  • Certainly far from the best lineup, but I’ve always been a sucker for the Worms games. That’ll be a good time killer for nights where I want to play a game but not get heavily invested in any of the more in-depth titles.

  • TBH, I was expecting Child Of Light (part of the EU and Japan lineup two months ago) or Gravity Rush Remastered (part of the Japan lineup some five months ago), but this selection is still very nice.

  • what a bummer. that sucks. i figure we would have gotten a Mass Effect Game to celebrate N7 like we did years ago when we got ME2 i figure we would get ME 1 or ME3 i’m starting too think.. EA has some Deal with Microsoft that they won’t give Sony any PS+ games. OR Sony got EA mad by saying no too the EA Vault on PS4 when Sony’s excuse was ” we valuated it and we didn’t think it was something of value for our PSN Users ” or something like that.

what a sad month… after getting big hits the past few months. you need too continue that momentum for Christmas .. let alone when your competitor releases a new console .. or at least have a temp price drop !

    • The issue with EA is most likely EA trying to force Origin or UPlay on their games which is probably what Sony is referring to in that quote.

As for competitors releasing their new console i would like to point out the new xbox isnt actually a new console but is the Xbox equivalent to the PS4 PRO.

If you mean the switch….eh i wouldnt worry too much about that.

    • Mass Effect 3 was free for EU Plus but not here. TBH I don’t see that or Mass Effect 1 for US being free anytime soon.

  • Does anyone else have trouble with the PS Store? For weeks now I can’t go to the details of any game. When I try changing filters, for instance in the Double Deals sale right now, try changing filters to sort A-Z and no results show up. Also using the PS Store searching doesn’t work either… makes it hard to buy games when you can’t navigate the store. I will say luckily you can still click the “add to cart” button to get these freebies.

  • Bound is also completely playable in VR.

  • Nothing even worth the disc space

  • vdivkdovkd dvjd-vk

  • Weak.
Guess I’ll have plenty of time to finish MGS5 and Amnesia Collection.

  • OK so on the PS4 side it’s a bit weaker month with no AAA title. Bound is great though for people who missed it and it’s really good in PSVR. I love the bonus VR games btw Sony.

On the PS3 front the lineup continues to be weak. Rag Doll: Kung-Fu is such an old game at this point. Please either drop PS3 from the lineup or improve upon it.

Vita lineup is OK this month.

  • Ugh absolute trash

    Nothing for me this month

  • Very happy seeing these VR games every now and then. Keep that up please!

  • Garbage Games

  • Ragdoll Kung Fu was free through some sort of promotion (with Sprint, if I recall correctly). Free would be the only reason I would have it. I had zero interest in the game, but it was free, so why not?

  • Can you tell me where is that sale for Horizon? I still see it without any sale with full cost….

  • Yea, another vr game! Isn’t bound also vr compatible? Or that’s seperate but?

  • Great to get a Bonus VR game on a month with 2 Indie PS4 games. Worms games have always been fun with family.

Bound looks like a hard Plat.

Might try R Type D because of SCHMUP.

Already tried Dungeon Punks, does enough to quench Dragon Crown like game. It just watered down, and the attack frames are the same. 20 hours to get the platinum. Bunch of grinding and getting loot. I enjoyed it, by no means a masterpiece like Dragon Crown/Golden Axe.

    Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse (Episodes 1 & 2), PS Vita

Wish the PS4 version was free too.

  • That lineup of free games looks very weak. There should be a full well-known title each month and then a low-key indie game that no one really cares for.

    • Typically November is the “weakest” month for the IGC because it has to complete against new releases. It’s a strategy. Release niche games that a smaller section of gamers may appreciate, rather than huge AAA titles.

Right now my friends list is full of people playing South Park, Assassin’s Creed, 2K18 and Wolfenstein, plus i’m sure there will be a TON of people on CoD:WW2 and Battlefront 2 soon. Who is putting those games down right now to play… I dunno… Far Cry Primal? (as an example)

    • Well i just bought FCP so im one of the people playing it XD

  • Please put out at least one decent game that someone above 12 years old can enjoy. You have a huge customer base that is 30 plus years old, we don’t want ‘B’ budget cartoon games about worms. I’m not saying don’t put it out there, I’m sure plenty of people will enjoy it, I’m saying include some content the older crowd will CARE about.

    • What child under 12-years-old out there is going to appreciate Bound or Broken Sword? Those are the exact kind of games you’re requesting.

    • Jrod I would. I love little arty games like journey and flower so I reckon it would be a good experience.

  • Friend: “So you get free games with PS+ too, right?”
Me: “Nope, just online and what ever sony has lying around. Maybe some good discounts now and again”
Friend: “That sounds like free games”
    Me: “heh good one”

Seriously just ditch the free games and put the money towards something else. Give us PS Now for free or feed it into the PS2 classics line and give us those games for the month as they release. I wouldn’t mind seeing the majority of the PS2 library playable on PS2 and given away each month and then sold there after. Maybe even allow us to pop our discs in like XB1 does with the X360.

As it stands the free games are a wash.

    • No. I disagree. The free games are bad this month, but for most of the year, they’ve been great. They can’t be winners all the time. The last few months have been some solid awesome titles and I don’t want to lose that because you want PSNow or something lame like that (I have a PS3 if I want to play those games).

    • Man id you missed these months?! :
October – Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
      September – inFAMOUS: Second Son
      August – Just Cause 3
      July – Until Dawn
      June – Life is Strange
      February – LittleBigPlanet 3
Because this is not just “what ever sony has lying around”.

    • Ps plus service was bad in the past with PS4. But lately they been giving out pretty good AAA titles and now 2 psvr games. They are improving. Besides have u tried 7 day trial of ps now? If u got no good connection then quality is pretty bad. I had above 15mbs connection and still had lower quality streaming. Games are Best played without streaming and I don’t think their server will be able to handle the pressure if they make it free instead of pa+ service

    • I agree with others here. PS4 PS Plus is decent overall for the year, so I am very happen with paying for that subscription at the moment, This is in stark contrast to PS3 PS Plus. The PS3 games should be amazing now that PS3 is effectively retired, but it seems like Sony is giving PS3 PS Plus members the bottom of the barrel. I guess Sony doesn’t really want that yearly subscription money from the PS3 folks, and wants them to stop using their PS3.

  • What a putrid lineup.
If they expect us to keep paying for this bargain bin crap, they really need to permanently add another ps4 and 1-2 more ps3 games each month..
And I’m not talking about PS4 VR that less than 5% of the player base has.

  • We had 2 months of great offerings and yet entitled children still want to cry this month. When are you people going to realize that taste is entirely subjective?

  • I got my PS4 about a month ago. I signed up for PS Plus right away. Neither of the games that I got last month interest me, and neither do either of these games. The only thing I am getting out of paying for PS Plus is a discount on games I may or may not buy. If the games for December as as lack luster, I will just end the PS Plus subscription. For those of you that like these games, that’s great I am very happy for you. The above is just my opinion.

    • Well that’s because u just missed:
      September – inFAMOUS: Second Son
      August – Just Cause 3
      July – Until Dawn
      June – Life is Strange
      February – LittleBigPlanet 3
If u have hope for December, cancel ps plus now because its not going to be like these last months.

  • Welp, they can’t be winners every month. We were going so strong for so many months that I guess it couldn’t last forever. But it was funny to be able to look at the XB1 free games and laugh for a while and now, we’re right back to where we were the same time last year when everybody was questioning whether Plus was worth it or not. I hope December is a return to form.

  • Oh… come oo o on! We have to pay for your stupid ps plus and give us these games?!

  • This is terrible selection of games ! R-Type and ragdol kung fu?!! Its like “just give them something, because we must” Put some crap bundle and call it a day.

  • Shame. You guta better strat giving some cool games in december because this line up sucks

  • Hello bad games, my old friends :c

  • Long live the Vita. Please give us another handheld. Good looking month. Can’t wait.

  • Why don’t you ever include the PS3 and Vita games in the announcement video??? I’d like to see gameplay from those games without having to leave the blog post.

  • Do like 7 days to die next time or something like that

  • Sony doesn’t love us..

  • So now we’re going back to the crap? I don’t expect AAA games but when the VR game and a Vita game are the better games.. you know you failed.

  • 4 months in a row when I already own 1 of the free games (Just Cause 3, MGS5, Infamous Second Son & now Worms.) So disappointed.

  • This month’s games aren’t that great but I’ve seen worse.

I’m just glad you finally decided to announce them, this waiting till the last minute crap has got to stop. Xbox announces their games at least a week before the end of the month.

  • Weak games!? These games are freaking awesome! Worms is super fun! Rush Blood is freaking insane And extremely fun! (The closest thing we have to something like time crisis on PS4) And the love for PS3 and Vita is shown in these games too. I am happy to be a PS subscriber. (The original R type in the old SNES is still a favorite)

  • Well, Sony you have lost me. This is why I have stopped my automatic renewal to Plus. Now I have membership to Xbox Gold and every month at least there is something I can enjoy. Such a shame that an excellent machine as the PS4 is being let down by such p*ss poor marketing and flagrant disregard for the players. Oh, and if you’re a Sony fan boy who actually thinks what you are getting is exciting and can’t wait to play it all. I suggest you get out more, meet some girls raise your expectations in life.

    • Honestly this months Games with Gold is just as bad, the only good game is Tales from Borderlands, which PS+ owners got a few months ago.

    • Did you had ps plus during these months? :
October – Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
      September – inFAMOUS: Second Son
      August – Just Cause 3
      July – Until Dawn
      June – Life is Strange
      February – LittleBigPlanet 3
Because if u did u have a very specific taste for games.

  • For goodness sake Sony. Please stop offering rubbish Indie titles!! Games like Hitman. Dying Light. Ect need bringing to free games. Alien Isolation needs another run on it. Last month was a surprise with MGSV even tho I already had it but come on seriously Worms and 2 indie titles?? Pathetic.

  • Boo i wish they gave out better games this month.

  • Aughhh, what an apocalypse we hoped for many old and not expensive really Sony hit’s, and some remastered maybe after so many AAA game hits and what we got – free play Rush of Blood (whole game about maximum 5-6 hours of playing) until January and two indie games, never heart about them. First, I’m think this is a very good joke, but this is a total production fade after all, another low goal – confirmed news by Sony about release of the NEW PS VR improved set … Totally dissatisfied ..
Now for the first time I go to see what Microsoft delivers this month free of their gold subscriber, and I was swear in Sony and fight with many PC gamer, me – like ex PC gamer !!!
And even ABZU, as well as Draw to Death, both are the magic for these worm’s bound !!!

  • well i guess i will just cherish the fact september , october were great enough to forget november

  • …aaaaannnd back to trash. Maybe this means Sony are goingto treat us for December?

I’m actually kinda relived as my plus ran outthe day after MGSV went live (been playing offline :p) and don’t want to buy more ps+ right not.

  • Thanks PlayStation!! Looking forward to playing Bound and Worms!
