When Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite was announced at PlayStation Experience 2016, we called upon players around the world to form teams of intergalactic heroes, world warriors, and peacekeeping robots. We’ve enjoyed seeing the amount of creativity exhibited by the community and look forward to more awe-inspiring plays. With the one-year anniversary of the announcement coming up, we have decided to invite more heroes to play Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite with another Free Versus Mode Demo Weekend from December 8 to December 11!

If you’re new to the game, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is a fighting game where players select a team of two iconic characters to bring into battle. You’ll also choose one of six Infinity Stones, which all have unique abilities, to further customize your team to your liking. If you have ever wanted to witness Gamora and Rocket Raccoon taking on Ryu and Chun-Li, this game is definitely for you!

Who can participate?

Only PlayStation Plus members have access to the Free Versus Mode Demo Weekend, and only on PlayStation 4. You’ll be able to play against anyone who already owns a copy of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite on PlayStation 4 along with any PS Plus member.

When does it start and end?

USA – December 8 at 8AM PST until December 11 at 8AM PST
Japan – December 8 at 9pm JST until December 11 at 11:59PM JST
Europe – December 8 at 12PM GMT until December 11 at 12PM GMT
Please note that precise timing may shift without notice.

You can even pre-load the Free Versus Mode Demo today from the PlayStation Store!

What modes are available?

Training Mode: Hone your skills or learn new characters in this mode that pits you against a training dummy. You might discover new teams, new combos, and new opportunities!

Online Casual Match: The system will be searching for an Online Casual Match during your time in Training Mode. Once one is found, you can test your skills against another player!

What characters can I play?

All 30 launch characters will be available to play! This includes Spider-Man, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Ryu, Strider Hiryu, Dante, X, and many more! What team will work for you?

Venom, Black Widow, and Winter Soldier Out Now

Speaking of characters, the next three DLC characters, Venom, Black Widow, and Winter Soldier, have now infiltrated Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and are available for purchase individually or as part of the 2017 Character Pass. Both purchase options will come with Premium Costumes as pictured below.

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite: Venom Premium Costume

This Anti-Venom Costume was inspired by an Amazing Spider-Man comic story, which featured remnants of the symbiote forming a new healing version of Venom, which Eddie Brock fully controlled.

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite: Black Widow Premium Costume

This Cosmonaut Costume was inspired by the Black Widow: Deadly Origin comic book miniseries. In a universe with heroes hailing from different planets, this intergalactic suit for Black Widow will be a life saver.

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite: Winter Soldier Premium Costume

This James Barnes Costume reflects Bucky’s time in training before he became the Winter Soldier.

For a rundown on the varied playstyles of the new characters, head to our previous PS Blog post.

Join the epic clash now! Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is now available on PlayStation 4!

Please re-release your older SF games on modern devices like you are doing with Mega Man. That is what we want!

I can play a little Friday after work but the Monster Hunter World demo will be taking up the rest of my weekend.

Yep, I feel the same. Monster Hunter all the way! Even the free trial of The Division DLC is more enticing than MVC:I, and I’m a huge fan of the Versus series. But this MVC game just looks so cheaply made and lacks almost all of my favorite characters! Fail. :(
