Burnout Paradise Gets a PS4 Remaster March 16

Welcome back to Paradise City! Revisit Criterion's legendary white-knuckle open-world racer next month.

Hello there, PlayStation fans!

As always, it’s great to be back here on the blog and today I’m incredibly excited to share with you the news that Burnout Paradise Remastered is coming to PlayStation 4 on March 16th. Did we mention it’ll be running in 4K at 60fps on PS4 Pro?

If you’ve played Burnout Paradise previously you’ll no doubt have fond memories of the first time you got behind the wheel of classic cars such as the Hunter Cavalry, Carson Fastback, Jansen X12 and the Montgomery Hawker.

Maybe you have a soft spot for the toy versions of the Hunter Manhattan, Krieger WTR, Carson GT Concept or the Carson Inferno van? Perhaps you enjoy cruising around Paradise City on two wheels as opposed to four.

Be honest now, how many of you owned the Jansen P12 Diamond?

Whatever your choice of vehicle, Paradise City allows you to tear it up in the ultimate driving playground. Race across hectic downtown avenues all the way up to the wild mountain roads and relive the high-octane stunts and wanton destruction that Burnout series has become synonymous with.

But what better way to play than with friends? Burn rubber and shred metal across the open roads of Paradise City while discovering jumps, stunts and shortcuts. Wreck your friends online and collect their mugshots or join forces to demolish hundreds of online challenges.

  • Burnout 3 is the only burnout game i ever played. But it is the best raceing game i have ever played, any chance of burnout 3 remake?

  • I love Burnout Paradise (my first Platinum), but I’ve already bought it and all of the DLC twice (disc and download), so I won’t be buying the PS4 version until it’s cheaper than $39.99, but I will be buying it eventually. Thanks, EA and Criterion.

  • Yoooooooo! Burnout Paradise was my jam!! So many good memories and “firsts” for me from that game:

    -My first PS3 game
    -Made my first PSN friend
    -Got my first trophy

Safe to say I love this game <3

Between this and the Motorstorm spiritual successor (OnRush), these next couple of months are going to be a great time for arcade racers.

  • What about the Logitech G29 steering wheel? It has to be supported. Burnout Paradise on PS3 was so much more fun with a wheel.

  • Also I gotta say thanks a lot for bringing back the multiplayer as well. This game had one of my favorite online multiplayer experiences, period.

  • Dead Space trilogy remaster when?

  • O man I can’t wait for this game I never played it but I did my research and o boy o boy am I excited for game you how much money it would save me buy used cars just to crash them just to see the damage o man I can that in this game oh can’t forget the rolling part man it’s about time they made games like this I can tell my girlfriend I’m live longer if buy this game no more hospital bill’s boy is she gonna be happy

  • This is awesome news! Burnout Paradise was one of my favorite PlayStation 3 games. I invested over 300 hours into the game on PS3. I worked my way all the way up to the Criterion Elite license, and also earned my first platinum trophy playing this game.

I’ve got fond memories of hunting down billboards, knocking out Road Rules, and collaborating with my friends over and over (and over and over) on some of those fun multiplayer challenges. I got all of the add-on packs, and played the heck out of them too..I earned nearly every vehicle in Paradise City…although the Carbon Uberschall 8 and P12 Diamond still elude me to this day.

I’d be happy to do it all again on PlayStation 4!

  • Will this game use the Frostbite engine?

  • That’s awesome! I never buy remakes, but this one I’ll have to buy! :)

  • Why remaster Paradise?!? It SUCKED! I played Burnout since the beginning and loved 1 through 4. Revenge was definitely the cream of the crop. Thats the one that should be getting remaster. Paradise ruined the franchise, Burnout should’ve never been open world period! Now if we get a remaster of Takedown or Revenge, I’d be more than happy to open my wallet. Till then, I’ll be saving my $40.

    • Agree, Revenge was amazing!!!!

    • Good on you for saving your money. I also played Burnout since the beginning, but fortunately I’m not so fragile to let a franchise get ruined by one game. In fact, I loved Burnout Paradise as a new entry in the series. Guess I just refuse to be scared by change lol

  • I have Burnout Paradise and Burnout 3: Takedown. They should have made a collection or just add Burnout 3: Takedown with Burnout Paradise. Burnout 3: Takedown is the best Burnout game and one of the best racing games ever. I pretty much nearly have all the Need For Speed games except the last 2 Need For Speeds and Burnout 3: Takedown was probably the most fun game.

  • this game was my first platinum I am beyond excited for this!

  • I hope they added a proper minimap, if not I probably won’t pick it up. I had the game on ps3 but the lack of a minimap really killed it for me, shame cuz the game was pretty fun.

  • I’m excited! Will wait to get a PS4 Physical copy. How about Burnout Revenge Remaster too?

  • So excited for this remaster! Definitely the best openworld racing game to date.

The one thing I would love to see though would be 2 player splitscreen.

Any chance of that being a much wanted feature?

  • Take me down to paradise city, where the grass is green and the girls are pretty

OH WONT YOU PLEASE TAKE ME HOME!

    THANKS EA!

  • Are we going to see HDR on this?

  • Burnout Paradise was one of the last games that did dlc right. I hope this remaster doesn’t ruin that with lootboxes and additional, pointless, insulting dlc.

  • Wish there was someone out here that would do a SOCOM confrontation remaster…..but all I here is crickets.

  • Please Remaster Burnout 3!

  • Hiya,
Any chance PS3 saves could be used on PS4 as I am 102% complete.

I love it, but I really don’t fancy doing it all again.

    Thanx

  • This is the game that I’ve been waiting for. Had always hoped that it would be ported to the PS4. This is the ultimate game for a casual gamer like me that keeps their system on Rest Mode most of the time. Preordered instantly.

  • What a shameful disgrace. Its sad to see EA entering the recycled games dirty business.Instead of bringing your great PS2 games that always needed the HD treat,no…you recycle a game that don’t need it.Burnout Paradise is the best racing game ever made and one of the most fun games as well but seeing it getting recycled for PS4 is disgusting.Put some work in bringing your PS2 games to PS4 EA…you’d make a lot of money with that.

    • Why is Burnout Paradise for PS4 such a bad thing? It’s gameplay that’s been sorely missing on the PS4…

  • Awesome to see that the Remastered version includes what appears to be ALL of the DLCs; can’t wait for this.

We play Driveclub on PS4 all the time, but nothing beats the wild open world of Paradise City!

  • Will this game have difficulty settings?

  • This was a game I always hoped and wished would come to PS4, why?

I decided to get a PS3 in early 2008 as I was tired of building gaming PC’s every couple of years and fancied gaming on the big screen sat in a comfy chair and the first game I bought was……..Burnout Paradise.

Played the game for 18 months straight, met people online who are still on my friends list 10 years on and one that is my constant wingman in Destiny 2 and has been throughout (You know who you are fella).

Loved almost every aspect of Burnout Paradise (Ranked racing MEH).

I took the time to visit Criterion in Guilford and had a great day meeting many of the people who made such an absorbing world to play in, got to try out Big Surf Island , bikes, day / night cycles before release and run riot with Cops n Robbers. As I recall Ian Anderson screamed a lot when taken down hehehe. I hope the devs on my friends list will return to play in the sandbox again.

I’d love to think that this remaster will eventually lead to more Burnout games but for now I plan to relive and enjoy this game all over again.

Come on lets get those 6 player challenges knocked out for everyone :)

  • I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the PS3 Version of Burnout Paradise!! I have EXTREMELY HIGH hopes for the remaster, and $40 is an outstanding price for this because you get the base game and ALL DLC in one package.

These final days before release, to me, feels like the P12 88 Special going down an abandoned street at TOP SPEED!!!

“SIT BACK!!! THIS IS GONNA BE GOOD!!”

  • Steering wheel support? We just picked it up and can’t find any option to use the Trustmaster. I assume it would support, considering that the PS3 version does. Anyone have info?

  • Why is it $51.99 for a DIGITAL copy on the PSN store, and $39.99 for a PHYSICAL copy at every retailer???
