A special preview of what you can expect from PlayStation’s E3 2018 Showcase.

It’s been an exceptional year for games, thanks to genre-defining masterworks like A Way Out, Far Cry 5, God of War, Monster Hunter: World, and Moss.

But 2018 is just getting started. To ring in a new year of incredible new gaming experiences, the PlayStation team is planning a new E3 Showcase — and we’re inviting all of our closest friends. That means you!

Join us on Monday, June 11 starting at 6:00pm Pacific Time as we share a preview of what’s next for PlayStation. We’ll broadcast the show live from E3 2018 in Los Angeles, California via live.playstation.com, Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook.

In a rare break from tradition, we wanted to give you an early glimpse at what to expect heading into the Showcase on June 11. PlayStation’s Worldwide Studios will be at E3 in full force to provide you with an exclusive look at four upcoming titles: Death Stranding from Kojima Productions, Ghost of Tsushima from Sucker Punch, Marvel’s Spider-Man from Insomniac Games, and The Last of Us Part II from Naughty Dog.

Of course, we’ll have stellar announcements from third-party publishers and independent developers, who are all busy devising innovative new experiences that will make your heart race and your emotions soar — whether you’re playing on PS4, PS4 Pro, or PS VR.

      Any response yet on the opporunity to watch at local Cineplex Cinemas across the country, get the collector playing card for E32018 and virtual loot bag? Would be great to see this again. Really enjoyed the VR demo setup at Chinook centre in Calgary as well!!!

    First question after reading this: will you continue the recent tradition of hosting the PlayStation E3 Showcase in various movie theaters around the country??? I went to it last June in Bozeman, MT and it was incredible to see everything on a giant 4K screen screen with the insane surround sound pumping through theater. Definitely a huge step up from watching it at home, and the best part was the whole thing was FREE !!! :)

      Yeah, i would want to experience the Theater Stream as well. In 4K? That sounds really cool with the surround sound.

      I’m looking forward to the theater as well. We had a blast last year with friends! I’ve been to the main event a few times, it’s like a live sports or concert event where watching a broadcast is typically better.

    I’ve never been to a theater stream of E3.
    That would be pretty cool to do it though.

    Glad Sony will be attending E3 again this year. I was getting a little concerned since it’s May and the announcement came one month away. Looking forward to watching the stream. Here’s hoping I can watch the stream of the press conference at another E3 Experience.

    Never forget PS Vita ❤ playing it to this day. Freedom Wars 3? I wonder if more PS3 games could run on it like Infamous. Anyway I’m excited. I’ll be busy Monday night so I’ll have to be media silent until after I watch and archive. Will that be made available on your YouTube channel?

      You should really look at getting a Switch. The Vita is basically dead and I feel Sony deserves it. Switch is amazing!!

    Is shadow of the tomb raider will be on E3 this June 11, 2018 this is my Question ???????
    I hope they show some gameplay on shadow of the tomb raider and I pre order this game already on PlayStation store I just pre order last week shadow of the tomb raider croft Edition

    I have to ask this, but what are your plans for the PlayStation Vita this E3? Can you hint at anything? New games? A successor? New Hardware?

    And will you be streaming this event in movie theaters again? That was a lot of fun and a huge success in my area!

      Vita is pretty much dead. They’re even going so far as to drop Plus freebies next year.

      Not that they gave it much support outside of Japan so begin with…

      It ain’t over until it is over. THey may be dropping freebies next year, but that doesn’t mean that handheld support or a successor have been ruled out. Sorry to hear your handheld collecting dust, because this is handheld is really an 8th wonder of the world. I play it daily and there are A TON of great games for the device. Plus, it’s great for collectors.

      I use my VITA daily. The library of games is fantastic, i just platinumed God of War 2 on VITA in preparation for the new GoW. I’m currently playing MGS3 on VITA in preparation for Death Stranding. After i platinumed R&C PS4 i decided to playing Going Commando on VITA. Where else can u play these legendary games on the go?

      Oh by the way there are still good games coming to VITA like Iconoclasts just released, A Rose in the Twilight. Darkest Dungeon isn’t too old and Bloodstained is on the way. Have u played Salt n Sanctuary, Axiom Verge, Severed, Bastion, Slain, Rocket Birds 2, RE Revelations 2, World of Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest Builders on VITA yet? They aren’t that old. I’m sure there are great VITA games u haven’t touched.

    Would love a PS4 portable that plays digital copies (no disc, just digital ). Remote play just doesn’t work well outside the house

    Is it gonna be an actual press conference longer then an hour, with devs on stage showing gameplay and explaining some things? or is it gonna be like last year and we watch one hour of trailers and whatever, then Shawn comes back on stage and … “bye”…?

      maybe im just strange, but i like alot of cinematic trailers, especially at big press conference( for new games- if i see another last of us cinematic, imma be mad). I can be so much more hype over a cinematic than i can by gameplay. Also, gameplay kinda spoils the suprise that sokme games bring. I don’t want to know every in and out of a game 4 months before it’s release.

    @Cloud_Rulez – Thank you for being the only person who noticed this. I was dumbfounded by the approach Sony took last year (and will probably take again this year). Came back here after watching it and all the comments were just glowing. I think it’s a huge mistake to turn an opportunity to “work the crowd” into just a bunch of pre-recorded commercials.

      How did u feel about the previous year’s E3 when Sony opened with an orchestra playing the new God of War theme leading into an explosive demo? Or the E3 when they announced Last Guardian, Shenmue, and FFVII? Sony typically owns E3, i wouldn’t worry.

      They did a good job of hosting the games directly after the show to talk about them. I somewhat liked that better because when a game I didn’t care about came on I just switched streams and watched a different game somewhere else. It’s like EA when they talk about Madden, you have to sit there and suffer listening to the dev pretend this year is “so much better” just because you are waiting for the Battlefield devs to walk on stage later. Plus they all got about an hour to talk, instead of 10 minutes .

    I’m really nervous about this format. It reminds me of what ea did when it had nothing to show, and last year’s psx which was okay. We want a shotgun blast if game announcements, a few longer demos but no deep dives. I don’t want spoilies!

    I dig the new direction. Last year really didn’t work for me even being in the live audience. The rapid fire trailer format really only works if you have major new announcements.

    Hoping for another theater experience this year! My friends and I have gone the past 2 years and have had an amazing time with all the other PlayStation nation members. I especially love it when the whole theater loses their minds as the announcements roll out! Thank you for the good times and fingers crossed we get to do it again!

    Patience guys, previous trends suggest they will announce the theaters for this year at the end of this month! I really hope they do it again this year despite the mess with Gofobo last year. Hopefully they switch back to Eventgrid!

    The experience last year at theaters was amazing. The experience to experience the experience was a bag of dicks. Please don’t put the tickets through gofobo this year. Go back to where you used to offer them or at least through a vendor that can handle the traffic on their site.

    Hope Insomniac announces a Resistance reboot and i hope GG second team has a new Killzone but i doubt it. At least we should see Death Stranding and Tsushima gameplay as well as an extensive TLoU 2 demo. I expect the From Soft game to get announced.

    I really hope the show isn’t like last year. I absolutely love the show presentation when we have an Mc like Jack Tretton or Andy House. I loved that Sony absolutely worked their asses off to catch up when they were behind in the last generation and don’t want them to think we don’t need hype building they do when they’re now back on top. E3 2015 was absolutely legendary, and we need more moments like that, not just an hour of playing trailers with half assed introductions for them in between. Sony’s presentation is mainly the only thing I look forward to for e3. I don’t know if they held back because it was public, but I guess public e3 is going to continue. If that’s the reason, at least give us back a real keynote for PSX.
