Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Heist DLC Launches Today

Featuring a new story chapter starring the elusive Black Cat, and adding three fresh new Spidey suits.

Ryan Smith's Avatar Posted by Game Director, Insomniac Games

Hi everyone,

It’s been an unforgettable few weeks for all of us at Insomniac Games. Thank you again for the tremendous support for Marvel’s Spider-Man since we launched last month. The response to the game has been absolutely amazing, and it’s humbling to see the emotional reactions people have shared. I’m also psyched that a ton of people have been earning the Platinum trophy and are now are jumping in to New Game +!

To add to the ongoing excitement, today we launched our first chapter of DLC in Marvel’s Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps – Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Heist. This chapter includes new missions, enemies, suits, and, of course, a new story starring none other than Black Cat herself. While investigating the robbery of a New York art museum, Spider-Man and Mary Jane Watson find themselves closing in on criminal super villain Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat. The chase will take Spidey and MJ deep into Manhattan’s shadowy world of crime families.

Players will be able to unlock three new suits, including a new, original Resilient Suit designed exclusively for Marvel’s Spider-Man by famed Marvel illustrator Gabriele Dell’Otto. You’ll also be able to discover new collectibles and earn trophies from challenges.

One of my favorite parts of the game is J Jonah Jameson’s “Just the Facts” in-game podcast. I crack a smile every time one of his episodes comes on while I’m swinging through the city – for some reason I never get tired of his ranting. JJJ is back at it again in Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Heist, and we’ve got a new video that captures what’s happening in the city during Spider-Man’s search for the feline felon. Check it out!

Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Heist costs $9.99 USD MSRP on its own, or you can buy all three Marvel’s Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps chapters for $24.99 USD MSRP either at your local retailer or on PlayStation Store. You can purchase the whole bundle to get the best deal, which is available for pre-order now*! And for those of you who haven’t played the main game yet, you might consider the Digital Deluxe Edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man, which includes all three Marvel’s Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps chapters* along with all the cool content that comes with it for $79.99 USD MSRP.

Before I wrap it up here, I wanted to remind people to be on the lookout for more info on the next chapter in Marvel’s Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps – Marvel’s Spider-Man: Turf Wars. You’re going to see explosive action and some powerful scenes unfold. Can’t wait to show you more!

*Users will receive all three Marvel’s Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps chapters by March 2019.

Was hoping you would have expanded the city map by having each dlc open a new map area of the side of manhattan. Doesnt seem like that is the case tho.

Side note: wonder when games will start making life size cities. Could you imaging a Greater New York City map.

The cpu in ps4 isnt powerful enough to do a lived in life size city, watchdogs 2 was huge, but completley devoid of life, lets hope with ryzen/navi in ps5 it will truely bring cpu power to consoles that we simply havent experienced before, pc users will have obviously, but for consoles this next gen will be truely special and you will get your life size cities

I bought the deluxe edition when the game came out and can not access the new DLC. It is grey and everytime I click on it it takes me to the PS store and it is a blank screen. I restored my license in my setting, but still nothing. My game is updated and everything. Just wondering what I have to do to play the new dlc.

I enjoyed the main story, and the side quest was good, though a little predictable for someone who is familiar with that character. It’s a solid 8/10.

But can you guys do something about the challenges for the next one? Screwball’s constant yelling is annoying to the point of distracting, the explanation for how to use the Photobombs isn’t exactly clear, and that gadget challenge is just outright terrible.

I’d rather have pizza delivery missions again, and I HATED pizza delivery missions.

For all of those people having problems downloading the new DLC this is what you need to do. Just go into the PlayStation Store select the new DLC The Heist and download it from the PlayStation Store.

I’ve already played some missions of the dlc, but somehow when I entered today, the title appears grey again, like I didn’t play it or even purchase it.
I tried to download it again, but I doesn’t work.

I have a problem with the DLC too. At first I could not download it, and finally I was able to download. I played a few times and suddenly I have no access. Has anyone found a solution?
