PlayStation Plus: Free Games for December 2018

Soma and Onrush lead the year's final lineup.

Greetings, PlayStation Nation! December is just around the corner, so let’s take a look at the PlayStation Plus free games lineup for next month.

PlayStation Plus: December 2018

First up, we have Soma. Dive into this sci-fi horror title from Fictional Games, the creators of Amnesia: The Dark Descent. It is an unsettling story about identity, consciousness, and what it means to be human. Delve through locked terminals and secret documents to uncover the truth beneath the ocean waves.

PlayStation Plus: December 2018

Next, we have Onrush, the all-action, gravity-defying, racing game. Drive on the very limits of control in an effort to win victory for your team. This game is action-packed and full of unlockable customization options.

This month’s PlayStation Plus lineup also includes:

All games will be available from December 4, 2018 to January 1, 2019.

For Warframe players looking for a healthy set of extra resources, Digital Extremes’ dev team has you covered! The Warframe: PlayStation Plus Booster Pack III has a little bit of everything to jump start your game. This includes 100 Platinum, 100,000 Credits, Quanta (a Corpus laser rifle), Quanta Obsidian Skin, 7-Day Affinity Booster, and a 7-Day Credit Booster. PS Plus members can get the pack for free from now until January 15, 2019.

And that’s it! See you next month!

Creating a new post for visibility reasons (the fix and my confirmation are hidden in replies)

““Purchase” the FREE PS Vita version and within the download list for PS4 it will in fact be there. Confirmed after another user brought this up (thank you sefjwm).”

Hasn’t always been like this but good to know for now.

    • Wow what a horrible roundabout way to get the game. I dont remember ever having to do this with cross-buy games, but iconoclasts was just not showing up for me as free. Also, its not in the ps+ Game list in your download library, it shows up in the purchased games list.

      @SomaXD

One detail that I wasn’t clear on was I did everything I mentioned above on my iPhone App.

“I dont remember ever having to do this with cross-buy games”

I actually said that when I typed out “Hasn’t always been like this but good to know for now.”

Outside of my lack of clarity on the iPhone app I confirmed that the fix mentioned by the aforementioned user worked to the letter.

      Hope this helps

The store is still undergoing maintenance here in the uk for the ps3.At least on mine it is anyway. When is the store going to be back open if ever??????

    • kelvinmadaxeman

Sorry totally unrelated i know! When is the store gonna be open tho!!!!!!

  • memph1s_k1d

For some reason, Iconoclasts isn’t showing up as free on PS4. Anyone else having that problem?

  • cthulhu1976

Iconoclasts is suppossed to be cross-buy with PS4 but only the Vita version is available free.

  • HugoStiglitz_420

    SOMA is AMAZING!!!!!!!

  • Iconoclasts is not cross buy!?!?

  • It’s December 5th, so why isn’t Iconoclasts in the PS4 PS Plus Free Games section. The store still seems to think it’s $19.99. You should probably fix that pronto.

  • That Onrush game price is 50 euro on ps store lol like its a AAA game abd not some secind rate indie game lol
Sony you think people are so stupid they will fall for that nonsense which is like sony will tell people that what are you complaining about,we gave you a 50 euro game for free!?
    Loool
Sony you better deliver next month a REAL AAA game or lower the price for ps plus

    • wockret1914

Calling people stupid while using spelling and grammar errors…..

      Too easy

  • Kleinsbottle

Iconoclasts is not showing up as cross buy for PS4 in the store!!

  • Awful.. i expected good games in the holiday month, not trash… already played soma, its a short game and it’s trash, there’s no enemies to fight, all you have to do is run, and not in a good way like with ‘outlast’.
    Trash…
It’s about time people who already got the games (actual good customers) get rewarded in some way if they already have the game, like a coupon for $5 off on a game of choice…

  • kalishnikov89

So can i still play iconoclasts on ps4 if i dont have a vita?

    • wockret1914

If you have the options to “purchase” Vita games, pick up the FREE vita version. It will entitle you to all 3 versions to download (PS3, PS4, and vita). You may want to check your Purchase list or PS+ download list. Pending on how you “purchased” (for FREE) the Vita version it will be somewhere within. For iPhone it is download list, any other item (PC website, PS4 store, etc….) the wording may be different but the PS4 option will be there after getting the Vita version

Oh great. Another garbage month, ending a garbage year.

  • wadebehler58

You all are lying to yourself. These games are literal ass.

    • SOMA is a superb game that I believe began on the PC. Just because you might have never heard of the game doesn’t mean it’s bad.

  • I really enjoy the fact that I have to dig my Vita out of a box in my basement and charge it just to download and play Iconoclasts on my PS4…

    • If you have a PC or smartphone with the PlayStation App you won’t need to use your Vita

  • ICONOCLAST is still not showing on PS4. FIX IT SONY!

  • alstonclose

    nice

  • Anyone get the new Playstation email and see “Play Free With Playstation Plus” and see underneath the games? Is that misleading or what?

  • Incredible month!! Sony, please don’t listen to the moany, entitled dudebros.
I loved Amnesia, and adventure/survival horror games, so Soma looks 100% up my street. Can’t wait to try it. Just played OnRush for a while and while racing games aren’t usually my thing, this one is unique and super fun.
Papers Please and Iconoclasts are stellar games for Vita to play on the go. And Steins;Gate is one of the best visual novels ever made, and great for people who have never played one before (I’ve already played it on PC and Vita)
Overall, a great month with varied genres and something great for all platforms. Way better than the usual FPS trash and low-tier indies :)
