Brian Dunn's Avatar Posted by Sr Product Marketing Manager, SIEA

Happy New Year, PlayStation fans! We’ve got a hot lineup of nine new games coming to PlayStation Now this month, including Prey, Project Cars 2, and Metro 2033 Redux. The new titles join the library of over 275 streamable and downloadable PS4 games and over 700 streamable games in all.

Leading the pack of new games this month is Bethesda’s atmospheric and intense FPS Prey. You awaken aboard space station Talos I, only to find that you’ve been at the center of a science experiment gone terribly wrong. Use your wits, a unique arsenal of deadly weapons, and an array of mind-bending abilities to survive against horrific aliens and discover the dark secrets lurking within Talos I.

Also new to PS Now this month is Metro 2033 Redux. Explore a desolate wasteland and forgotten catacombs in a post-apocalyptic Moscow in a quest that could change the fate of mankind. If racing games are more your speed check out Project Cars 2, a stunning racing sim with over 180 elite race and road cars, a wide variety of tracks and courses to master, dynamic surface and weather physics, racing career progression, and modes including Indy Car, Oval Racing, and rallycross.

Other new PS4 games this month include intense Japanese action game God Eater 2: Rage Burst, and the 2D action RPG + tower defense hybrid Lock’s Quest.
Here are the nine games joining PS Now this month:

  • Chess Ultra (PS4)
  • God Eater 2: Rage Burst (PS4)
  • Lock’s Quest (PS4)
  • Metro 2033 Redux (PS4)
  • Onechanbara Z2: Chaos (PS4)
  • Prey (PS4)
  • Project Cars 2 (PS4)
  • Skydrift (PS3)
  • Thunder Wolves (PS3)

Here are the most played PS Now games during the month of December:

    All things considered….

When grammar is presented in the future tense, it’s generally an indication of things to come. Did this blog post go up today? I honestly don’t know….just asking.
Sometimes patience is warranted in life. Other times it’s mandatory. Considering the importance here, and the huge toll that having to wait a bit could have on both your physical and mental wellbeing….this falls into neither. I’m sure we’ll be able to play them eventually.

Only downloading the service again once PlayStation All-Stars is added. It’s insane that it has been this long without it being on the service, pretty disappointing.

This is a REALLY good month for additions. Thanks for the update.

PlayStation games that are at least 3 years old should be PS Now.
Games like:
Jak & Daxter, Jak 2, Jak 3, Jak X
Ratchet & Clank Collection and Deadlocked
PS All Stars Battle Royale
Twisted Metal Black
Drive Club
Gran Turismo 6
The Order: 1886
inFamous Second Son/First Light
Little Big Planet 3

Add more PS4 versions of PS3 games. Like:
Uncharted 1, 2, 3 (Nathan Drake Collection)
Last of Us (Last of Us: Remastered)
Resident Evil 4, 5, 6 -> PS4 versions
DMC 1, 2, 3 ,4 (DMC collection)
Bioshock 1, 2, Infinite (Bioshock Collection)
Batman Arkham Asylum & City (Return to Arkham)

I don’t want them to get rid of PS3 versions of games. I would love to have both versions, and this would make the service really appealing for trophy hunters. A lot of whom will buy terrible games just for trophies, so they will sub for trophy stacking.

    Understand the audience Sony.

Some ideas on how to improve PS NOW is a whole, coming from someone who really enjoys the service and believes, if improved, can be Playstation’s killer app.

1. Add more PlayStation exclusives
2. Add more PS4 versions of PS3 games
3. Better and more simple pricing model:
$9.99 A month for PS+ Members
$19.99 A month for Non PS+ Members
$99.99 One year for everyone all year long
$139.99 PS Now & PS+ One year bundle
4. Give players the option to stream games in 1080p and more data centers to lower latency.
5. PS Now mobile app for android and iOS smart phones and tablets (PS Now and 5G)

Hopefully Sony will improve PS Now by making it cheaper and adding more games. Especially after the PS5 is released. I mean, this has so much potential to be Sony’s killer app.

I absolutely agree with this post Sony definitely needs to have the pricing right to be competitive with game pass.

Excellent month, especially the inclusion of these two great
Prey and Project Cars 2

Some of us who have some time in PSNOW play Metro 2033, this Redux version is appreciated.

Can someone tell me what happens with Divinity: Original Sin on PSNOW I do not see it available …..

Sounds interesting but still wont consider it until I get access to my psn games that I bought and can use on a ps3, psvita, PSP but not on ps4 for some reason.

Video games are not picture, music or video files. Wrap your head around that concept and you’ll understand why you can’t pop a PS2 game into a Wii and play it. Because you may as well be asking for that.

New to PS Now do games get removed regulary ? If so is there ever a warning on what games may be removed ?

    Xollas said:

    January 8th, 7:15 pm

PlayStation Now can remove games without notice. As far as I can tell they don’t do it often. I remember years ago they had Assassins Creed 1-3 and Rayman Orgins then Ubisoft pulled support and they disappeared without warning or notice.

My last pay check was $8500 working 1o hours a week online. My younger brother friend has been averaging 12k for months now and he works about 22 hours a week. I cant believe how easy it was once I tried it out.

When will PS NOW service appear in Ukraine?

PGhood said:

I would like to hear an update of the service in general from Sony. It has a ton of potential but the pricing has to be on point along with its streaming capability. Sony please let the people know your intentions to improve the service.

tonyiscoolguy said:

Just 1080 please. I have top tier internet I’d like the option.

Add more PS3 games please. Especially with full DLC.

Had you not dropped PS3 support you could have had those games downloadable so we could buy DLC and use it, but no… just another to add to the list of shortsighted decisions from Sony. Because you know what makes a streaming service good? Only being able to use it on two things. Such value. Streaming is useful due to convenience. If it’s not on very many things, then it’s not very convenient anymore, now is it?

I never used it on PS3 because you had to navigate the awful PS Store on there just to launch games. Be like if the only way you could watch Netflix on PS4 was if you found the movie in the PS Store first. Which would be terrible and nobody would want to use it.

Add many more PS3 games and add trilogy games (ex. Tomb raider trilogy HD, hitman trilogy HD and splinter cell trilogy HD)
