GT Sport Adds Special Stage Route X, 8 New Cars, Out Tomorrow

GT Sport rings in 2019 with a huge new content update, including new cars and a fan-favorite circuit.

Another year, another month, and another free content update for GT Sport is right around the corner! From tomorrow, drivers will be able to download patch 1.32 (internet connection required) — featuring a huge selection of eight new cars as well as the return of an old-school fan-favorite track: Special Stage Route X.

New Vehicles

Rolling into Brand Central are eight new vehicles, from 50’s classic open-top roadsters to enthusiast Japanese Coupés.

  • Porsche 356 A/1500 GS GT Carrera Speedster ’56
  • Aston Martin DB3S CN.1 ’53
  • Shelby G.T.350 ’65
  • Ferrari Dino 246 GT ’71
  • Nissan Fairlady Z Version S (Z33) ’07
  • Honda Integra Type R (DC2) ’98
  • BMW Z8 ’01
  • TVR Tuscan Speed 6 ’00

New Track: Special Stage Route X

This massive oval track of roughly 18 miles in length has been hugely popular in license tests and high-speed races in the past editions of the Gran Turismo series, and has now returned for GT Sport. With a simple layout consisting of two seven-mile straights and two banked corners, drivers can enjoy top-speed challenges and extreme high-speed battles where utilizing slipstreams is essential.

GT League

This month, we’re introducing a new event where the “Z” takes the leading role, and we’ve updated four existing events with new rounds.

  • New Event: Z Heritage (Beginner League)
  • Two additional rounds added to “Stars & Stripes”
  • Two additional rounds added to the “Vision Gran Turismo Trophy”
  • Two additional rounds added to the “X2014 Nations Cup”
  • One additional round added to the “Gr. 1 Prototype Endurance Series”

Finally, we’ve added the “Tokyo Expressway — South Inner Loop” from last month’s update to the Circuit Experience. And in Scape mode, we’ve added Cambridge — a stunning British city of historical architecture and cutting-edge science.

We hope you enjoy this month’s update, and remember you can find all the latest GT info here on PlayStation Blog and on the official Gran Turismo website. Until next time, drivers, we’ll see you out on the track.

Please tell me the name of the music track of the trailer, it’s beautiful :O

  • Another great update, but the question still remains, where is Laguna Seca?

Looking forward to buying all the cars from the PS Store, and taking them for a spin in VR.

I would love to see more VR updates, and the ability to buy all cars from the PS Store. As someone that is only interested in the VR expereince, I will never get to try out the $20 Million cars, even with 1,000’s of hours. Would be nice to have either the ability to earn more in VR, or just be able to buy all cars outright.

I just went to the Rennsport Reunion at Laguna Seca a a couple months ago and I wholeheartedly agree with adding that track. The Corkscrew is killer.

  • Oh hell yeah! I hope to see more classic tracks added to the game!

I recently got PSVR and I hope to see more of GT Sport available for play using the headset as well. Keep up the good work!

When will cote d’azur track be added to the game?

Gran Turismo 7/Sport 2 in 2019 = Career Mode, Championships, starting grid, Climate Variations, Better brakes, damage, fire, destruction, Time Progression, HUD Customization, Replay in 16:9, Rotate external camera with R3.

  • What about SSR5, and SSR11 (both type GT1 and type GT3)?

    Plus clubman.

I like all of the old night tracks!

  • I can’t wait to use my speed to race on Special Stage Route X, I’m looking forward to this track.

I think SSR5 , SSR7, and SSR11 should be next to make a return. We fans are wamting more old tracks to return. It’s boring without speed so Special Stage Route X is the track for testing our speed.

3000gt anytime soon? Getting kinda bored using that lame ass evo. you know 1 of the only 2 mitsubishi’s in the game.

  • Thank you Kazunori! very glad to see route x back.

Gives me hope to see other classic GT tracks coming to GT Sport.

Something else that i hope to see is, an interior view angle option like there was in GT5 and 6.

And finally an night condition setting for La Sarthe if thats possible.

  • Why the score of car championships and builders are considered 4 only 10 results and not all? This way undermines who favors the game and benefits experts in some clues.
