Hello everyone!

It’s been a while since we last talked! We’d like to thank all of you for your support of Marvel’s Spider-Man since its launch last September. Many of you have played, and we have been floored by the response to the game. It has been gratifying to continually hear new stories from players exploring our rendition of Marvel’s New York with the web-slinger and see all of the great shots you have created in Photo Mode.

While we’re busy working away here at Insomniac Games, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to once again team up with Sony Interactive Entertainment, Marvel, and Sony Pictures Entertainment to celebrate the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home in theatres now! As such, we have released a new update for the game via Patch 1.16 that will bring two free brand-new suits from Spider-Man: Far From Home to the game.

After you have built the Advanced Suit early in Marvel’s Spider-Man, you are able to switch between suits during the story — so if you have already reached this stage in-game, you can use the Spider-Man: Far from Home Upgraded Suit, or the Spider-Man: Far From Home Stealth Suit right now. Before you rush off to download the update — here’s a couple of new images showing those brand-new suits in game.

We’ve had a great time adding free additional content to Marvel’s Spider-Man, such as the Webbed Suit in December, and suits celebrating the Fantastic Four in January. You can get even more additional suits for Marvel’s Spider-Man by purchasing the Marvel’s Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps expansion series. The series tells a post-game story over three DLC chapters, and each one includes three new suits to unlock that you can use in the rest of the game and in New Game+. The series begins with Black Cat returning to Marvel’s New York, but players quickly realize she’s a part of something much bigger that will entangle Spider-Man with the notorious Hammerhead. You can download Marvel’s Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps from PlayStation Store today for $24.99 USD.

That’s all for now — thank you yet again for all of your support of Marvel’s Spider-Man. It means the world to us, and we hope you get out to see Spider-Man: Far From Home, in theatres now! Get your tickets now: bit.ly/FarFromHomeTix

I personally thing Amazin Spiderman 2 gave us our most comic accurate version of Spider-man. That is to say, the way ke quips with enemies, and cares about the people he’s saving and the city.

Even at the very end, when he’s heartbroken and hurt more than anyone can understand. He puts on a fake smile, tells a joke, saves the kid, and goes to work. It’s all about the selflessness of the hero, how much he cares about the people he protects, and how no matter bad things get for him, his personality and wit endures because they help him get through those hard times.

    • I totally agree about Amazing Spider-man 2 giving us comic accurate spider-man.

Shame non of that matters if the movie itself kinda falls apart. And Amazing Spider-man 2 felt like a train wreck. I’d trade comic accuracy any day if it meant a better crafted film.

  • I just finished my new game+ on ultimate difficulty last night!
I wish there were new missions and trophies to unlock with these costumes.

    • dilson_p_sanson

Me too. Just finished at the supreme dificulty yesterday, but I still can do the secondary missions

  • We really love you 3000 insomniac. Thanks for this free updates

  • Appreciate it, those outfits are off the chain.

1st: Loved the suits, but I don’t think the stealth suit was really necessary, cause we already have the noir suit in game. 2nd: any chance to add andrew garfield’s suit in game? From the amazing spider-man? It would be great swinging around the city with andrew’s costume. 3rd: The DLCs wasn’t enough for all the happenings during the game. So, any previsions for the next game be realised?

    • TASM (The Amazing Spider-Man) wasn’t a very good idea. Nobody would like the add-on. Plus, the creators didn’t even like the movie. Your opinion is your opinion. I just shared mine.

      @Vippaley

I personally think Amazing Spiderman 2 gave us our most comic accurate version of Spider-man.

None of the other movies have him quip the way the cartoons, comics, and ASM2 have him quip. And that’s not to say the two MCU movies aren’t funny, but they are funny in a different way. Situational comedy more than Spider-man saying really witty sarcrastic, and lame jokes at enemies to throw them off.

For all the problems of Amazing Spiderman 1 and 2 had as films, IMO they remain the most true to the character versions of spider-man we’ve had in live action.

    • @WingcommanderIV
I’m afraid accuracy to source material doesn’t matter much if the product you end up with is as poor as amazing spider-man 2

  • Thank you very much for continuing to support this excellent game with free DLC! I’m very much looking forward to your next Spider-Man game even though you haven’t officially anounced it yet.

  • Mercenary09

Already got 100% of the trophies in the game but I’ll be going back to play a bit with these suits. Thanks for including them and not making us wait for Spider-Man 2 to use them. Btw can’t wait for Spider-Man 2 team!

  • Sweet. I’m looking forward to seeing the new movie on July 4th. Love how Insomniac keeps making Marvel’s Spider-Man better than the best Spider-Man game to date with these free additions. Thanks

  • I absolutely love you guys! Spider-Man was by far, one of the best Open World, Story Driven Games. Even though it’s been out for a long time, you haven’t forgotten it. You just keep adding to it, which makes it all the more fun! Thank you!

  • wengervision

I can’t remember a game this balanced and FUN. Games are supposed to be fun, right? Well, thanks for not losing sight of what is fundamentally why I play. This is honestly the best game I’ve played on the platform, and it’s not even close!

    • Yes glad someone else noticed this…one of the motives I loved Spidey on PS4 was because they focused on making it fun.Games take themselves way too seriously nowadays.

  • Hope y’all can imagine the sound of claps cuz that’s what I’m doing.Really impressed with the support you guys have been giving to the game…happy to see so much suits being added for free.Spidey’s not only one of the best PS4 games but also the most fun game I’ve played in years…and with your support for the game I can say y’all have ma respect again Insomniac, well done.

  • The new Marvel Spider-Man update 1.16 just tried to install and then got a error it crashed my PS4 Pro and now the game doesn’t even start. What’s going on? I deleted the game and now trying to reinstall.

  • Nice addition. Can’t wait to give a swing :) Thanks for update.
