GT Sport Patch 1.45 Adds 4 New Cars, Rain Weather Conditions to Tokyo Expressway, Out Now

The September update includes the Chevrolet Corvette StingRay Racer Concept and seven new rounds in GT League.

In today’s update, we have some classic sports cars from the 70s including an old and new example of Chevrolet engineering. Rain has also been added to the Central and East loops of the Tokyo Expressway creating some new challenges in this scenic city track.

The update is available for everyone to enjoy starting from today.

If you missed the news earlier this month, I am also pleased to announce our partnership with Michelin as the official tire technology partner for Gran Turismo. As such, you will find a wealth of new Michelin related content in brand central and throughout the game.

We also announced an exciting collaboration with Porsche, which will bring the Taycan Turbo S to Gran Turismo Sport as free DLC by October! We also confirmed the 971 Living Legend will be coming next year, as well as Porsche designing a Vision Gran Turismo car.

New Vehicles

In total, four new vehicles will be available:

  • Chevrolet Corvette StingRay Racer Concept ’59
  • Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE Package ’18
  • Ferrari 365 GTB4 ʼ71
  • Dodge Super Bee ’70

Featured Vehicle: Chevrolet Corvette StingRay Racer Concept ’59 (Gr.X)

Debuting in 1953, the first generation Chevrolet Corvette would go on to win numerous trophies in the world of racing. The next step was the development of the Corvette SS race car which debuted in 1957, a project led by Zora Duntov — the man often dubbed ‘the father of the Corvette.’

While aesthetically similar to the base Corvette, the underpinnings of the SS were completely different. Designed for use in racing, it featured a shortened tubular frame upon which was mounted a 302 BHP fuel-injected 283 engine, and the car achieved a top speed of 181.4 mph in testing.

However in the same year those plans were scrapped after the American Automobile Manufacturers Association (AMA) agreed to ban the direct participation of manufacturers in racing, following a number of accidents in NASCAR and other motor sporting events. There was a successor to the SS though, in the form of the StingRay Racer.

The car inherited the frame and body covering the engine, almost as is, from the Corvette SS. The final car, created by the newly appointed GM Styling department Chief, Bill Mitchell, and designer Larry Shinoda, also borrowed styling elements from a blackballed next-generation Corvette prototype.

This StingRay Racer entered a variety of races as a private personal race car of Bill Mitchell, and won two consecutive SCCA Class C modified titles for 1959 and 1960. Its styling also had great influence on the design of the 2nd generation Corvette which appeared in 1963.

New Weather conditions

An option for rain weather condition has been added to the Tokyo Expressway — Central and East Loop track.

GT League

Seven new rounds have been added to the GT league.

  • How much of this game is in VR now? Have they added stuff or is it still the same as when VR was added initially.

    • They have added VR Time Trials, and the ability to earn Credits and Experience, though the pay outs are extremely small.

Even though it is limited, I highly prefer just doing laps in Time Trial over anything else the game has to offer.

It looks like we won’t see Races, and Online Multiplayer until PS5.

    Dossier Gran Turismo Sport

The purpose of this dossier is to show the mistakes made in Gran Turismo Sport.
I know there are a lot of good things, I will talk about bad things to improve on the GT PS5.

    – First mistake: Too much work, too few people. = Have to enlarge the studio

    – Second mistake: Graphics engine. = Same graphics engine used in previous games, the physics with little evolution and features that were missing in GT5 and GT6 did not arrive in GT Sport. See in this video how is the same camera system used when overturning the car

    – Third mistake: Important resources missing = Career mode, Championships, Gird start, Race scores, Climate Variations, damage, Time Progression, HUD Customization, Dynamic camera, Replay in 16:9, Rotate external camera with R3. Here’s how you can’t rotate the camera around the car with the R3

    1. Speedometer in the lower right corner.
    2. Stopwatch in the upper left corner.
    3. Change HUD with Directional.
    4. More camera options on R1.
    5. Brake and Reverse on L2.
    6. All tracks available in online mode.
    7. Launch the full game, without updates.
    8. More new cars.
    9. Best Physics
    10. More speed
    11. Sun Rays
    12. Real car plates
    13. Stronger engine sound.
    14. Less Polluted HUD.
    15. Do it all

    – Fourth mistake: Cover art, Gran Turismo has many cars as trading partners and can create a beautiful and more attractive gaming cover with a car in the middle of the cover and Gran Turismo Sport written on the top of the cover. A beautiful game cover sells more to those who don’t know the game.

    – Fifth mistake: important circuits left behind = Spa-Francorchamps, Laguna Seca, Silverstone, Road America, Yas Marina Circuit, Cote d’Azur, Deep Forest, Indianapolis, London, Madrid, Rome, Grand Valley, Tokyo R246.

    – Sixth Mistake: Launch = A game with a bad release still has a bad impression even though it gets better later.

    – Seventh error: too many updates, is that bad? = Yes, when these updates serve to finish the games released with little content.

    – Eighth mistake: Few new cars = Newly announced and launched cars 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 for the PS5 GT

Koenigsegg Regera, Koenigsegg Jesko, Koenigsegg Agera RS, Koenigsegg One:1, McLaren 720S, McLaren Senna, Porsche 918, Spyder Ford GT 2016, Gumpert Apollo, Ferrari 488 GTB, Porsche Cayenne, Lamborghini Urus, Bentley Continental GT V8, BMW M235i, BMW M135i, Nissan 370Z NISMO, Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, Spyker C8 Aileron, Ferrari California, Aston Martin Vanquish, Lotus Exige S, Ferrari FF, Jaguar XKR-S, Icona Vulcano, Mazzanti Evapora, Marussia B2, Ferrari 430 Scuderia, Ferrari 599 GTO, GTA Spano, Jaguar XJ220, Mclaren 570S, Lykan Hypersport, Hennessey Venom GT, Ferrari FXX K, Maserati Levante, Ginetta G40, Ginetta G55, Ginetta G58, Ginetta G60, Ginetta Akula, Aston Martin Valkyrie, Aston Martin Valhalla.
    – Ninth mistake: Actually this would be the first mistake, but I just remembered it now and it will be the ninth mistake, this is the first step to make a game, HIGH INVESTMENT. The best selling game on PlayStation has to invest more, much more.
    – Tenth mistake that can happen: Using the same graphics engine for the PS5 Gran Turismo, delaying production, delaying launch, not extending the studio. The game needs to return to the old days of glory.

I’m just curious when we will get all the missing cars available for purchase. I seen that 5 have been added to the Store Today, but there are still a lot more missing from the last few patches.

Please add all of the cars to the PlayStation Store, and let us purchase all of them, no more capping based on Price.

I am in love with the VR Mode, and I want to be able to experience all of these cars you have so meticulously crafted. Let me pay you for your work.

Otherwise, keep on doing what you do.

Does weather work in VR? I might have to bring my racing wheel setup out of storage if it does :)

I am wanting a big game, original tracks and all in PlayStation Vr except multiplayer. Gt7 is going to be the best product.
